  • Why is Count Dooku not really a true Sith?
    And don’t get me wrong!
Dooku is 100% a Sith but he had other plans that didn’t follow what a traditional Sith would have done!
See, Count Dooku decided to leave the Jedi Order cuz he thought they were losing their way as peacekeepers and cared more about politics.
So leaving that part of his life behind, Dooku was approached by Darth Sidious offering him a chance to become his apprentice in order to build a better galaxy!
This sounded great to Dooku cuz he only wanted to improve the galaxy!
And he saw that joining with Palpatine was the only path to what he says is make a, “Pure Civilisation.”
But of course, Sidious lied to Dooku and eventually sacrificed him like he was nothing!
But Dooku did have good intentions even if he did bad things along the way to try and reach his goal.
And he wasn’t as selfish as other Sith and didn’t have Sith eyes cuz he was motivated by philosophical and political goals rather than rage and conquest!

    It’s relative
The main maxim of the Sith is to pursue one’s passion
Not all Sith are conquerors by motivation
In Canon, Lord Momin was at heart an artist
Despite all the havoc he done, at his core he’s an artist.
Also while most Sith believe that the Force serves them. Momin believe in serving the Dark Side, not unlike how Jedi believe in serving the Force
He followed his own passion, that motivated him to do all the horrible things he did to even after he died
Dooku as Darth Tyranus is no different
His passion was always to bring peace and order to the galaxy. And at least as a Jedi to serve the people of the Republic, as he believed Jedi were supposed to
Dooku was both a Sith and a Jedi
At his core, he never stopped believing in the Jedi’s goal to bring peace to the galaxy and serve the people
He felt the Jedi lost their way and became pawns to a corrupt Republic that no longer deserves them
Dooku became a Sith to fulfill his goal. To create an utopian autocratic Empire that would still the voices of corruption with its authority, as the flaw of democracy often gives voice to corruption
He rather if Jedi led the galaxy, as their connection to the Force makes them enlightened and better equipped to lead
If the Jedi can’t do it then the Sith would lead instead
Besides ruling, Palpatine didn’t actually care for Dooku’s Utopia
He didn’t care about the public good
He wanted an Empire of sycophants that would worship and obey him for all eternity, and would use corrupt forces and nepotism to control his Empire
Palpatine didn’t want to lead, he wanted everyone to follow
Dooku wanted to lead and bring the greater good to the galaxy, and felt the Sith was the only path to achieve it
Dooku didn’t have Sith eyes, because he controlled the Dark Side like a Jedi. He controlled his emotions, he rarely gives into rage. Because he’s in control, the Dark Side doesn’t really dominate him. He’s the closest thing in canon to a Grey Jedi or Sith.
Kylo Ren didn’t have Sith eyes despite his emotional instability because he was between the Dark and Light and was torn apart by the conflict as reflected in his cracked saber. Unlike Dooku who was always in control of himself
He died hoping that the Empire he helped build would bring Order to the galaxy which makes his fate tragic

He died on his knees to the very corruption he set out to destroy.

    • @KamranVFX
      @KamranVFX 2 місяці тому +1

By this logic Sidious didn’t have sith eyes when in front the senate because he controlled it like a Jedi. Everything else you said was spot on but not this. The sith can control whether or not the dark side corruption is visible on their body. Goes far beyond just the eyes but even shows in their veins and the skin. With maul it’s not that he couldn’t have hid his sith eyes, he never had a need to unlike Sidious and Tyranus. Maul wanted anyone who encountered him to know they were dealing with a lord of the sith. And that in fact, other than the Rule of 2, is one of the reasons Sidious went to kill him and Oppress in Mandalore. He’d become way to bold showing and acting as a Sith Lord. Because it wasn’t until he had taken rule of Mandalore that Sidious intervened. All the time before then he didn’t care that Maul crept through shadows like a rat. Sorry that was a tangent but Tyranus is a Sith and there is no denying that fact. And you can’t be a Jedi and a Sith at the same time

Dark jedi is really just an ambiguous term. though. I don't think anyone knows what it really means. Sometimes people just use it to refer to less powerful dark siders/ assassins trained under more powerful sith masters and other times a dark jedi is just a former jedi who turned to the dark side but don't adhere to sith philosophy. Considering Dooku did have formal apprenticeship under Sidious and adheres to sith philosophy as seen when he trains savage oppress, I would consider him a sith, albeit a more unconventional one.

This is one of most biggest misunderstanding in Star Wars. Dooku was just as selfish and evil as Maul. It is true that Dooku turned to the darkside because he saw it as a mean to a better society but he became corrupted by the darkside. In the times of the clone wars he lusted for power above all else and gained personal wealth from robbing systems. He was not better than any sith. As for the sith eyes I think he just hide it like Sidious did it. In clone wars we can see Dooku's sith eyes for a few times in moments when he intensively uses the darkside.

AMBITION: Becoming the Apprentice to Darth Sidious. Becoming the Leader of the Separatists (CIS). And planning on killing Sidious once the Empire was created.
You might argue that giving orders to underlings doesn't qualify as blood lust. In that regard, that would mean Sidious isn't a true Sith, considering he picked up the communicator and said, "Execute Order 66" having the clones do the actual killing.
This was the Rule of Two Sith. Everything had to be done from the shadows with great cunning and great secrecy. Traits that both Sidious and Dooku performed brilliantly.

@@ShockwaveFPSStudios yes that’s true. My point was that Anakin Skywalker was always trying to save everyone and control everything and he thought if he had enough power that he would be able to, and that’s what led him to the dark side. The emperor was different, he just wanted power for the sake of control, and he was pure evil. Darth Vader started out with altruistic intentions. Sith control their emotions. The only difference between them and Jedi is jedi control their emotions to remain calm and make the right decisions, while Sith harness their emotions and use them as a weapon to fuel their power.
Sidious did call Dooku by his Sith name. At every turn.

    • @alecjackman2655
      @alecjackman2655 6 місяців тому +3

The reason the Jedi didn’t call him by his Sith name was because they didn’t find out he was Darth Tyranus till the end of the war. Whenever Palpatine is in his Sidious’s persona he always refers to Dooku as Tyranus. The other separatist didn’t call him that because he had a public image to maintain where if the galaxy found out Dooku was a Sith his persona of reasonable noblemen would be ruined.

He was actually the smart one out of Maul, him, and Sidious. Sidious was too obsessed with power and control while Maul was too controlled by his anger from how he was raised and trained. Dooku was able to control his own emotions and become like an almost sith version of Qui-Gon. He showed a lot pf strength if you really think about it and realize that he joined Sidous for years and nvr became a full sith while Anakin did within days of betraying Mace as shown by his eyes on Mustafar after he kills the separatist leaders.

One of the few things I didn't like about the Clone Wars cartoon was how Dooku was portrayed. Based solely off his screen time in AotC, the guy really didn't seem all that evil. More indifferent. He certainly wasn't a proper Sith. He just wanted reform. I mean, he literally told Obi Wan what was going on. Why do that? It certainly doesn't seem like part of Sidious' grand plan. More like he wasn't entirely sure about Sidious either and was trying a third route. I can't help but wonder how things would have gone down if Obi Wan had listened to him instead of just dismissing him. I'd love Marvel to do a Star Wars: What if...? story around that.

He also never deformed because the rate of deformity for sith is dependent on their use of the dark side. Sidious engrossed himself within the dark side and how he looks at the end of return of the sith was his true face all along. Dooku preferred lightsaber combat to the force and thus rarely if ever relied on the dark side.
