This song is a piece of Dong choir, a traditional Dong folk song in China. This piece does has lyrics and meaning, but I'm not from Dong and don't know the language(Dong language is different from Chinese). The following is the old Chinese translation translated from Dong given by HOYO-MiX:

The sacred branches(Hilt-Wood branches) have now grown abundant and mature, with grass and flowers flourishing around them. the holy branches are already laden with bountiful fruits on the southern mountain.
Phase 3:
Those who accept their destiny will achieve immortality, and those blessed by heaven will shine throughout the starry sea.

@@chopper3875it's actually fully about abundance, and the vidhyadhara storyline. I'm referring to Dan Feng's(Inhibitor Lunae) species.
Check the murals right before the boss fight area. All 4 murals combined tell you a somewhat similar storyline that is written in this translation.
You know what would make this theme even more intense? If come the 1st year anniversary of the game they have a concert then this is what shows up as one of the songs they do live.
With boss cosplay dance too would be nice.

Imagine bringing the Dong ethnic minority to the concert with their traditional clothes to sing this piece. This epic piece is inspired by the ethnic group living in China, the "Grand Song" of the Dong people, 2500 years old songs passed down without lyrics, a language without words, recording only with embroidery.

This is exactly the part I was looking for. It’s the moment Dan Heng shows up for backup. The music change was epic!
The thing that makes this boss so much better is that she never has a point where she is worried. She never becomes afraid. She truly knows that she has the absolute advantage the entire fight and if not for her toying around she would have won and she acknowledges this.

HOYO-MIX are at it again with Chinese culture music! This time they are using Dongzu Dage (“grand song of the Dong people”) through the whole theme, sounds really amazing and interesting!
I'm a Canadian of Chinese ethnicity; I don't know much tbh but apparently there's loads of natives in China that aren't "Han", and this track implemented the way one of them sang their songs. Anyone can verify?

@@pierreshi6102 Here to verify. It is true. From what I've heard, the theme is inspired by a "Grand Song" of the Dong people called "Song of the Cicadas" which talks about how life is fleeting.
Such type of a choir is also in Bulgaria and since recently in Japan (ig it firstly appeared in cyberpunk), so ig it could not that represent the cultural uniqueness of the Chinese culture (rather its small peoples) and rather pursues other goals
The battle was really intense. The soundtrack made me feel that we are actually fighting something that could kill us at any given moment.

I cannot say tht one boss music is better than the other because the vibe and the feeling of each boss was different and they made the perfect soundtrack to go along with it. All the boss music r great.
last boss made us feel powerful because the scope of the fight is very personal to the characters of the planet, this one shows how expansive the universe and the threat we are actually facing, we're not just up against another human powered by a Stellaron, we're up against creatures that uses these planetary level bombs as toys

This theme gives me goosebumps especially the third phase, it gives me shivers when I fight her(gladly we have Dan Fe- Uh no Dan Heng at our back)
Game version focuses a lot on the beats and background melodies, while the album version focuses a lot on the vocals. There's a lot of sound details that you can't hear in the album version but you can hear it here.
This boss was something else even with my characters well built. It actually felt like a real challenge!

As much as I loved the Cocolia soundtrack but man this one just hit so different. Literally felt like I was battling for my life. Thank gawd for my Luocha and well built Jingyuan LOL
Cocolia's fight was a battle for triumph, when you face Phantylia you're fighting for mere survival
Cocolia's battle theme : you're the underworld heroes trying to tear down tyranny, through the biting cold, with everyone going hand in hand to defeat the ruler, taking destiny to their own hands. Cocolia is evil but at the end of the day she wished for the best of her people regardless the wrongs she did. the victory is bittersweet but the sacrifice won't go to waste thanks to everyone working together to build their world from the frozen ash.
Phantylia battle theme: you fought and odd entity, an amalgamation of undying and destruction, you only have one general and a reincarnated high elder to fight the entity, the victory is supposed to be absolute, but this entity is way beyond your power. this isn't a battle for freedom, it's a battle to exorcize the evil. you won the battle but you didn't defeat the villain. they're still out there, like a ghost in your shadow. There's no victory, only delayed defeat.
the leitmotif they have at 2:36 and 4:51 are so addictive

She slapped me at first 2 times, mf targets jingyuan each time and killed him twice at phase 3. In my second attempt, she was at just 1% HP left in phase 3, but she targeted jingyuan and because of him I lost...But on third try, slapped her tits off...
But yeah, she cannot be taken lightly...like she takes 3 turns in a row in phase 3..
This boss is a freaking raid boss fight, it’s got a lot of challenge, and it’s especially hard when you don’t use Jing Yuan.
I used an all female squad when I did the echoes of war picking Bailu from support and using Silver Wolf to inject type weaknesses when applicable all while Servan hard carried the fight. It’s a crazy fight that had me the most excited playing Star Rail.
I had to borrow Jing Yuan just to fight weekly Phantylia, his kit is literally made for this fight. No wonder he's required in story battle.
Yes because she has 2 mechanic most annoying. Stolen SP and counter tank char. But all you need just survive until dan heng burst ready and start nuking

Man Jing Yuan and Dan Heng were so MVP in 1.2 but yeah King Yuan specially. I love it to death how much he mocked Phantylia to make her fall for his trap. Ah I loved this boss fight so much.
I LOVE how this song slowly gets more intense in the 2nd phase, and the intensity stays in the 3rd phase with a hint of heroism

Can't believe I had to retry the fight once, barely won first try and the game actually decided to push a hotfix in not even 1 second in the cutscene where Jingyuan is captured, but on the bright side I get to enjoy the 1st and 2nd phase OST again.
I know people rave about phase 2, but that little electronic but in phase 1 towards the end is just 😘👌

This track reminds me of puny me being at Trailblaze level 34 and trying to defeat lv.82 Phantylia with puny level 50 characters. It’s just an impossible boss fight, until at the very least trailblaze 50 if you have properly built characters, and you need trailblaze 60 to be at the same level with the enemy

I'm not Dong ethnicity but I've heard a lot of the grand songs. Japanese style is similar singing tone but the language used here in this theme is Dong Language. My favourite Dong Grand Song is the "Cicada Grand Song" and "Ancestor's Arrival"
5:15 is jing yuan theme, using ultimate againts phantylia similiar when he using his ultimate against jing liu

2nd theme is intense, which makes sense since it's mid-battle. 3rd phase had more "grand" sweeping strings for hope that the heroes pull through. They represent different "emotions".

This boss battle gave me something I haven't gotten in many years: the sense of dread, fear of the possibility of actually losing the battle, the shivers i had throughout the whole third phase. Something that Genshin or other games I played werent able to give me anymore.
Feelings aside, my favorite part of the theme is the 2nd phase, when the chorus sings i can only imagine it singing insults and slurs hahah
Little edit after realising I'm obsessed with this theme, I absolutely love the build up to the beat drop from 2:35 until 3:04.

It seems Hoyo used a similar emotional intensity build up tactic from Dark Souls 3's Dancer of the boreal valley boss fight with the battle theme, the more the fight progresses the more intense the music becomes and the more adrenaline (or tension) you start to feel.
