This was the first boss in a while to make me feel nervous before it. I had that "I'm not sure if I'm ready" moment before facing her that made me check everything and use consumables. It really feels like the final battle for the fate of the world. And this is only the beginning. Incredible.

As a pure Genshin player, I now understand why Honkai players say why their vocal tracks are insane. 1:42 had no reason to go that hard and the way they synced the beat drop to hit right when Cocolia used her burst.. Just wow.

This song makes me feel like you're climbing a tall mountain. The cold wind is blowing so violently and you're barely holding on but there's something inside you telling you to keep climbing, to make it to the top. Absolutely amazing song for the first major boss in the game.

As a FFXIV player let me just say good tracks with vocals are how you drive a fan base crazy. Soken and the rest of the music team on XIV are insane, and hopefully Star Rail keeps this stuff up for the big moments.

As a FFXIV player, I agree wholeheartedly. I LOVE Soken and his team. Half of FFXIV’s awesomeness comes from the sick tracks and I love all of it! I immediately thought of FFXIV when the vocals cut in, was timed perfectly to the final phase transition, and sooo good at that! A game can easily hook me If the tracks are bangers. Now that they pulled that off, Im expecting to see more musical gems like this from now on!

I luckily got Bronya and used her in boss fight. Bronya's line when she uses her ultimate just gave me goose bumps
And I use Bronya and Serval for lore, and perfectly match with this theme.

I used bronya with zele, Pyro character and march 7. It was cool, because cutscene contained also these personages))
I had gotten Seele shortly before this and did the entire final quest with the main three and Seele. Got that canon team.

I litteraly stopped imputting any attacks for a good 2 mins to vibe on this song!
This song when I fought Cocolia, gave me the same energy as "Fly Octo Fly!" gave me in Splatoon 2 when I fought the dlc's final "battle". By that I mean, a strong music for the final battle of that storyline, that gives me the energy, the willpower strength, the desire, to press on and finish this. Unlike in Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion though, I did not lose like a billion times in the battle in Honkai Star Rail. I beat it first try. The deus ex machina really helped fighting her though, since I had no fire element character in my active party

Fighting this boss with March/Dan Heng, Bronya and Seele on your side felt like the climax of the story came together as they intended. Word cannot describe the intensity and epicness of this fight.
Like, your character just survived a fatal shot, recieved a brand new weapon and skill, and the rest of story accurate character came to aid you.
I wanted to do this, but not having unlocked Seele meant I had to use a mahjong player instead.

This song was a major surprise in the fight. The cutscene before was already amazing. In the first phase you feel the struggle and desperation. But in the second phase when the vocals start, you also start your comeback, more powerful, determined and heroic.
Glad to see that TetraCalyx is involved with this. She always made absolute banger hits for Honkai Impact. Knowing that she had a hand in this tells me that there is tons more waiting in store for HSR.

Having listened to this a few times alongside your lyrics, I'm fairly sure its "despondent crowd", "the only want remains" and "the floor". I'm also not sure I'm hearing "there were exchanges of life", but not quite sure what - the last word sounds more like "grind" or "game" to me, but it's a bit hard to fit the rest of the line around it (unless you allow for engrish like "they were changed your game", but given that the rest of the song is rather well put together, that's unlikely).

Yes, it did have to go that hard. There were so many HI3 references, from Cocolia looking like a fusion dance between the Herrschers of Void and Ice, to that giant shard she dropped on us looking exactly like what Kevin used to seal and then destroy Durandal's giant lance during their duel.
Gacha games have to go this hard nowadays. Fancy art can't draw attention. You need something special.
Arknights gameplay is special, but what keeps people spreading its name around is massively due to the osts.
Genshin has the fame it has because of open world, that alone makes people interested.
Most other gachas aren't giga popular despite having good art or gameplay either, even if they have massively generous rates.
Good osts is one of the best ways to spread the name.
Even for the most mundane of things, Mihoyoverse is the type to be willingly over budget on music department like Mona's spending habits

oh man, u guys have no idea how hyped i got when this song just dropped while i was battling Cocolia. Being immersed to the storyline made it even better for me. Then I did everything to time my attacks with every beat of the song to make it seem like an anime final boss battle when i did it again to farm materials lmfao.
I wasn't expecting this banger when fighting cocolia, felt like I'm in an action film during the entire battle.
And the insane thing is: It's still a turn based game!
But due to the visuals and music this boss fight gives the illusion of tension.

In action games, the camera must follow your movements, here they can literally go nuts with visual content and make everything as epic as they want.

This battle gave me goosebumps, especially as a HI3 player. Seeing Bronya & Cocolia’s dynamic in this universe felt so insane & this battle was done beautifully for it. The conclusion to the Belobog arc was bittersweet, which I honestly love. This theme gives me so many chills, reminds me of befall in that aspect, no idea why though.
God, I just finished the Cocolia battle and I just know by then end of this game, I’m going to be sobbing just like Honkai impact

The only bosses theme in genshin impact that I love are the Azhdaha's boss theme and scaramouche's theme , I hope we will get more boss theme that can give goosebump to players in the future
genshin has some fire music, in its own way. Duel in the Mist slaps so hard. it would honestly be weird if they put a contemporary song in Genshin, it fits better in Honkai world i think

I had to look for this song after finishing the boss battle. That was amazing, I didn't expect HSL to go so hard. I went in and tried the game blindly and had so much fun so far. I love it.
for games, one of the most important thing for me is their ost/soundtracks. especially at boss battles... if it can give us goosebubmps, if it can makes us live that boss fight like we were there, then this makes that game is very good
That whole fight was so fucking hype with this music. Just did it like, and hour or two ago and still feeling the energy!
This song exists to remind us that every action has its consequences, which reminds us of the main theme of the game: When you have the chance to make a choice, make one you won't regret.

When I got to Cocolia in Star Rail, I remembered the pain she inflicted on Bronya, Seele, the twin Olenyevas and several other kids in the Impact 3rd universe. So what did I do? I repaid her with Seele and Bronya just like old times.

The hype is real when the battle start, and then the protagonist power up is actually useful in the battle not just a temporary power up that only appear in cutscene which actually make me smile 😊

I've been through this Boss for a long time and to be honest, it's just gorgeous!
As a person who loves music very much, I loved this fight very much. This music is very beautiful, epic and evokes such emotions!!! Fantilia has passed, to be honest, it's not the same music and the same epic as in the fight with Kokolia. It's a shame. In general, Belobog's location has become my favorite. An interesting plot, a beautiful snow design similar to our St. Petersburg causes incredible feelings. All the Persians from Belobog that I have have become my favorites (especially I love Bronya). Thank you for these emotions and of course for the music!❤❤❤❤❤
It's just your emotional blow but I have to disagree with this. I felt the similar thing but If you'll think about this properly you'll understand you're wrong.
You cannot compare this 2 boss battles like that because their mood is different. The first one is - Survival and the second one is - fighting your past that keeps pursuing you.
Of course Cocolia boss theme slaps hard because there was a musical build up to it. Check out the YT video "How Embers became Wildfire".
But Phantilia boss theme isn't "worse" because Luofu story isn't that "personal" like Belobog story. And it's also have it's own build up and the moment of triumph.
The point is - there is a difference between loving music and understanding music which means there os no bad music untill it's written bad or unreasonable. Comparing such a good music like HoYo-mix's between each other is not so smart.

Да,тут я конечно не учла и по честному не очень внимательно читала диалоги на Саньчжоу.. да я это упустила,признаюсь. Но по честному все таки сюжет Белобога мне зашел куда больше,просто потому что,по этому логично что и босс и битва зашли мне больше. К тому же меня раздражает Фантилия как босс из за 3 стадии,в которой она убивала своим цветком(я забыла как это называется) всех моих сильных персов.
В общем прошу прощение за на столько халатное мнение.

То что сражение с Фантилией геймплейно сложнее, как раз и делает это сражение ничуть не хуже сражения с Коколией. А про диалоги на Сяньжоу Лофу это правда, потому что там много самостоятельно действующих лиц, каждый из которых преследует свои цели, из-за чего общее повествование не складывается в настолько же ясную картину как на Белобоге, где более явно что вот это хорошая сторона, а вот это плохая сторона. Вот и вся разница.
