What a lost opportunity to have a villain do something legitimately terrifying & reprehensible but also understandable.
Morbius was bad, apparently Madame Web is worse. Now I'm just waiting for Kraven the Hunter to get an even lower score lol

Voss is 100% correct about Sony trying it’s hardest to be as globally marketable as possible. I think that’s why they didn’t care about the obvious ADR problems. If it’s dubbed in another language it won’t even matter.
That's why I was able to enjoy After Earth
The voice dub in my country was able to mask Jaden Smith's bad acting
@LeonardoKlotz bad acting can never be dubbed over. Watch any foreign language film worrh its salt and the acting shines...oh dubbed. Okay I was thinking subtitles. Still though, it's a tall impossible ask to try and mask bad acting.

I fully believe an earlier version of the script is going to be leaked and it's either going to be even worse than the movie or actually a whole lot better.
I think it was a lot better but Sony ended up messing with it to try to gain money
It's going to be 10x better, like I feel all of these scripts start off probably amazing before it hits the Producer desk and then that's when they watch "whatever trending" and WRITE THAT DOWN and then 90% full of what we seen

Well having worked on the previs of madam web, and having read the script before they filmed it. It isn’t much better if at all. The movie was a mess since day one

I mean, it does decode it as much as you can in these circumstances. He gives you tips to try it yourself and breaks down what all is clearly dubbed vs not.

@@ladynoluck Giving you tips and actually decoding it are two very different things. Imagine if the plumber same to your house to fix your tap but instead sits down and gives you tips on how to do it. Actually it would be pretty useful lol but you get my point, it's not the same thing

also worth noting that actors often have trouble sounding the same and acting to the same standard in front of a mic in a booth as compared to being on set and partially immersed, so ADR requires a very good director to get a high-level performance out of even great actors
Its basically two different skills being demanded by the actor; director, actor, and writer are all important in this
I'll forever be fascinated by whatever this movie used to be before all the changes were made. Something made the actors and actresses sign on, and whatever it was isn't in the current film.

Suppose that's a dead end though, we know he won't have killed Peter so there's no stakes really.

It sounds like they needed to change everything about Ezekiel because they originally had him be Kraven. The way he talks about hunting, survival of the fittest in the original cut. Then Kraven got announced and they needed to change literally everything about him.
Wait, I've been under a rock. They actually put Ezekiel onscreen and then F***ed it up?? So the rumors of fiasco are true?? Here's to the Spidey back to theaters marathon!!

Pretty sure the villain isn't supposed to announce their plan to the person they're plotting against. Like wow, this is a real line of dialogue in a multi-million dollar budget movie.
Palpatine did it first in the last "Star Wars".
I think you can also make the case that 'apex predator hunter making the biggest catch of his life' is also getting pretttyyyyy to the character of Kraven.
This is like making me watch the movie twice and I won't stand for it. Once was seriously enough and no more thought will be put into it.
This movie was an absolute mess.😂
Sony just needs to sell the franchise back to Marvel/Disney. It has to be losing more money than it's making these days on all the films without the Feige production team involved.

Ezekiel should have been after Miles' parents in Madame Web.
2003, Miles would have been born in our liveaction film world.
None of our Peter Parkers were born in 03.
Had Mike Epps played Officer Jefferson Davis, Donald Glover would have been a great Prowler setup.
2018's Into the Spiderverse would be the actual plot direction this movie needed to take.

Yeah, the date is weird. Some say the 2003 date was part of the re-write, like the film originally took place in 1993, and after it was shot, someone realized the NSA stuff was 10 years later, so they had to change the time period to accommodate the computer scene.
I actually enjoyed this movie. And I did not find anything wrong with a villain hunting women. There are serial killers in real life who do this. And he doesn't hunt them because they are women, but because he thinks they will kill him in the future, so wants to kill them first. A very villain thing to do, in my opinion.
The spider-tribe (based on looks alone) kind of look awesome. Silver linings.

All that adr doesn’t hide the multiple scenes of him choking out underage girls. They should’ve just kept the original motive. Would’ve made more sense.

I just love how this movie was so bad, but yet it still keeps entertaining us.
I know that the Sony movies have become a meme, but the fact that the studio thinks it’s ok to put out a movie with this sort of botch job is really insulting.
Honestly I wouldn’t have minded if Sims was coded as some sort of spider-powered alpha male. Not only would him hunting women be an interesting conflict but it makes him far more hatable and threatening

The entire premise of Ghostbusters is "Science trumps religion". That's it, that's the premise.
It's hard to imagine how anything could be worse than what they ended up with.

The best thing about this movie are the Spider-Women suits. I mean, they look amazing and I only wish we got to see them more.

i've seen it 2x & i think the whole production was some how rushed because they didn't have a plan. or the plan was charged either while in production or when all was set & done. i could be wrong. but i kmow this could have been much better
Their main mistake was not finding a way to give the girls their powers by the end of the movie. A lot of their advertising in runnup to the movie pushed the girls as Spider-Women but didn't pay it off at all.

To clarify: I mean that the main stream and "massive" movie production companies are slowly losing "A list" status and Taking a back seat to others. Such as streaming platforms, independent production companies, and popular media.
It’s probably just me but I don’t think anyone gave a truly bad performance in this movie, Dakota Johnson made some interesting character choices but it still felt natural most of the time even if it was a bad character.

Why was Sims always barefoot?!?! Character accurate but still seemed useless to be barefoot in the film. You never see him really do any action outside of the suit.
