If Halle Berry Storm ever returns in the MCU, and they set up the same joke -- "Know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning?" -- how should she end the joke this time?
My favorite Magneto moment is in last stand where Pyro says he would have killed Charles if asked and Magneto instantly stops him and says "Charles Xavier has done more for mutants than you'll ever know..." It showed us that Magneto may not agree with Charles "peace" methods, but still respected him
Even when I was a little kid I noticed and appreciated that moment. Now a days we don’t have heroes or villains or even invewteeens respecting one another wether they agree or not
Favorite line: Scott says "Storm, fry him" then Magneto says "ah yes, a bolt of lightning into a giant copper conductor... I thought you lived at the school" 😂😂😂😂
All the more reason they should have been allowed to read comic books about their characters. Storm could have had him every which way inside of that statue without using lightning.

Fun fact: When Chris Claremont watched the film at his local theater; he freaked out (in a good way) when Rogue asked Logan if the claws hurt him and he replied "Everytime". Because he wrote a similar dialogue/character flaw about Wolverine in his X-Men run.
I always thought Logan suggesting Storm and Jean throw him instead of Scott was more than just an ego thing, but a logical and tactical decision, knowing he'd survive any mishaps with the plan, where Scott would absolutely fall to his death.
That was intentional by the director Chris Clairemont said nightcrawler's look , facial features and his hair was inspired by that same iconic Thriller image I always figured it was since both Michael and Kurt see themselves as monsters but are deeply spiritual good natured men
In regards to wolverines claws: The reason they appear to be “constructed” in this and then retconned to have bone claws, is because when this movie was made (2000) the only existing origin for wolverine’s claws was Barry Windsor Smith’s “Marvel Presents: Wolverine: Weapon X” which was the story that introduced the idea of how wolverine got his claws, before that it just wasn’t talked about. More attached⬇️
And in X-men Origins: Wolverine (2009) retcons the fact that Logan had Bone claws for Decades before the adamantium was graphed to his bones. Which is from the Wolverine Origin comic run from 2001-2002 just one year after the original X-men movie!
Awesome write-up. I love seeing MCP referenced. The concept of bone claws was first introduced in the comics back in 1993, during the Fatal Attractions crossover event. In Wolverine (vol. 2) 75, Magneto pulls the adamantium out of Wolvie’s body. Later in the issue Wolvie pops his claws, revealing the bone claws. Wasn’t until issue 145 of the same series in 1999 that the adamantium was restored to his claws!
@@TalkinSnikt no totally I specifically meant it in terms of timeline and in regards to the way the movies handled it becuase prior to Wolverine Origins (comic) people debated on weather or not his bone claws were always his, or if his body was attempting to “regenerate” the claws after magneto removed the adamantium. But wolverine origins definitively answers that question.
X-men were my favorite as a child and when these movies came out I was beyond hyped. They hold a special place in my heart despite some flaws in retrospect.

The Inhumans weren't created to get around the X-Men film rights issues, considering they have existed within Marvel Comics since the 60s, and Marvel sold the film rights to the X-Men in the 90s. They did, however, push them within the comics and position them as a replacement to the X-Men but this push began in the early 2010s
I could be wrong here but I think the screws you pointed out were part of the prop claws Jackman were using on set that they didn’t digitally hide or remove.
Dougray Scott was originally cast as Wolverine in the first X-Men movie but wasn’t able to continue with the production because he suffered an injury while filming Mission Impossible 2. Thank God the role went to Hugh Jackman.

Wolverine did have bone claws though. There was an issue of X-Men where Magneto got pissed and ripped all the adamantium out of his body. It was revealed then that he had bone claws that had been metal plated, not installed "aftermarket".
True but not everything from the comics makes it into the adaptations, so it's possible that the original intent for these films was to not have the bone claws. iirc the bone claws weren't a thing in X-Men TAS, for example
The scene with the metal detector, none of the other X-Men set off the alarm because Xavier would have planned ahead for Magneto's abilities and not put metal pieces like zippers or snaps in their construction. It's just Logan's adamantium skeleton that triggers the alarm.

In regards to the screws on the claws, I think that was just a general mistake on the filmmakers part. Not that they symbolized the claws were added after the fact.
I think it's also important to mention that Storm's "joke" was a call back to the cut out jokes that Toad would make, asking, "do you know what happens when a toad does or that this or that"
Sean Ashmore was one of the first major villains in Smallville before his brother got the role as J. Olsen and was brought back in a villian tribute episode with JTT and many others major stars
Shawn Ashmore also played in Smallville (first and or second season I think) a character that could leech Clark's abilities via Kryptonite and a powerful surge of electricity.
The screws on wolverines claws kinda make sense cause his natural bone claws weren’t blades, they were spikes so if coated in adamantium they would be metal spikes not blades. They would have to become blades somehow so it makes more sense for them to be added. Kinda like in the wolverine movie how did he get his claws back after silver samurai cuts them off? His claws would grow back but not with the adamantium graft over them
Also noticed how Logan/Wolverine and Rouge treat each other Like Surrogate Siblings in these First Three X Men Films, with Logan/Wolverine acting like a Surrogate Older Brother and Rouge acting like the Surrogate Younger Sister.
Stan Lee did not originally intend for magneto and Professor X to be MLK and Malcolm X. This is something that was pointed out to him later on and he just agreed to it. But his original intent had nothing to do with the Civil Rights movement. This comparison often ignores MLKs more radical ideologies.
If Halle Berry Storm ever returns in the MCU, and they set up the same joke -- "Know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning?" -- how should she end the joke this time?
Erik's pitch: A voice answers: "No, but I know what happens to a frog." And then Throg appears, absorbs the lightning, and zaps a Kang.

@@mackenziehunter4593 well yeah. I’m talking about the line in the movie.
I absolutely love all these movies..I dont care what anyone says..sure..some are stronger than others but all of them are great and fun
@ 7:52 You mention ROY THOMPSON HALL in Toronto. This SAME building is used as the ground levels of Vought International Head Quarters in THE BOYS.
Sabretooth is so cool!
His claws would grow back but not with the adamantium graft over them
In my head canon I always think Magneto did him a favour 😅
At 28:15 that's brian peck at the hotdogs stand what a monster
32:27 David Hayter also being the Iconic Voice actor Of Solid Snake in the Metal gear solid games
Also noticed how Logan/Wolverine and Rouge treat each other Like Surrogate Siblings in these First Three X Men Films, with Logan/Wolverine acting like a Surrogate Older Brother and Rouge acting like the Surrogate Younger Sister.
Thank you this break down. I love it all
Stan Lee did not originally intend for magneto and Professor X to be MLK and Malcolm X. This is something that was pointed out to him later on and he just agreed to it. But his original intent had nothing to do with the Civil Rights movement. This comparison often ignores MLKs more radical ideologies.
