I bought the 3" Shackles from CB 4 years ago and my 2013 Tundra still looks AWESOME. My brother just ordered the same set for his 2014 Tundra. Glad this video is still available 👍
No, just swapped the stock shackles with these Heavy Duty 3" Shackles. No other modification needed. With the Low Range Off Road (LRO) 3 in 1 Leveling Kit installed and these 3" Shackles, the look is perfect, you still have that slight rake (Bull Dog) look. FYI: I didn't use the 1" rear blocks that came with the LRO Leveling Kit.
Thanks for the reply. Was wanting to keep that factory rake and not have level or rear end sag. Sounds like this is the ticket and maybe with some 1" blocks too.
To anyone watching this, he is using the stock OEM leaf eyelet bushings in this video. The kit now comes with polly bushings. Goodluck getting the old ones out if you live in the rust belt. The OEM bushings took me about 6 hours to remove. Install of this kit is extremely easy and takes about 10-20 mins after you get the old bushings out lol.
your kits come with replacement bushings. however, i see in your video that you did not replace them. are there any issues with using the stock bushings? will the supplied bolts fit though the stock bushings?
At the time we shot this we had not finishing designing our Poly bushing kit.. Shackle kit always includes rear leaf spring eyelet bushings and all necessary hardware. shop-coachbuilder.myshopify.com

I need these!!! Hate my rear suspension setup and it feels like the RC lift makes my rear end slip when I hit bumps or off road. Worse as well when towing my gooseneck
so that would give me a two or three inch lift in the back so id have to change my front shocks and upper control arm is there a simple inexpensive for the front as well ?
during installation the rear suspension needs to come down quite a bit more than it will once the truck is back down on the ground. un clip your rubber exhaust hangers during install will def help.
David, I am about to put #1 CB shackles on my 2017 Tundra 4x4 CM, I have 290/70/18 tires on it, can I do the install with the rear tires on or do I need to remove them! Also do I need to remove the spare as well! Thanks!
We recommend installing the carrier bearing drop kit after the shackles have been installed and the truck is on the ground. this way the carrier bearing is in a neutral position.
does it matter if i use the old bushings in the leaf? and can i anti seize the bolts if i do want to change the bushings at some point. i live in canada i plan on doing this tomorrow on my blazer shes rusty but not to bad
I wonder why you only make the 2 or 3 inch sets Is there a reason you dont make a longer set. I'm looking for 4" of drop. And would prefer to do it all in the shackle instead of a block and shackle mix
you def want to remove both shackles at the same time and then install your new shackles at the same time as well, reason being the axle will pivot in line front the front hangers and will not want to twist.
@@EEExotic cool cant wait for tomorrow to get my new fox shocks i currently have the 4.5” rear block from pro comp so now that I added the 3+ shackles its sitting nice I love it🤘
I would like to purchase one of your shackles A set These don’t look like the ones on the UA-cam video all I could help a little businessman out I still like to purchase some shackles My bad it is I like to purchase a 2 inch I just got on your website thank you
Blocks provide lift but decrease ride quality by adding additional leverage to the leaf packs. Our Coachbuilder shackles provide the best ride quality possible in a shackle.
about to install mine ( finally !) . I'll be removing the shitty blocks that my dealer installed. I sourced the stock u bolts. should I simply remove the blocks, load the suspension, then tighten the u bolts and then proceed with normal install? your install video was very straight forward. just didn't know if there was a beneficial process for us that are going from a block to your beautiful shackles!
Yes, If your truck is running a stage I lift without front coilover normally use our +2"s and if its a stage II with coilover +3"s would be the size to use. Watch the shackles get take out is angering 3 plus hr later and watch every video on the internet and still cannot get them out. I’m cutting them out. The top moves freely the bottom in the spring will not move no mater where the axel is jack both sides a fd in the a.
At the time we shot this install video we had not completed our poly/graphite replacement bushings. They are now standard with all Coachbuilder shackle kits. thanks for watching.
@@EEExotic sorry Do not pay attention to the date I was looking at the video as a reference. I just purchased from y’all just a few days ago the poly bushings for my 2021 tundra
do shackle help lift the back of the suv 4runner I'm lost 1/2 inch cause I put aftermarket rear coil so if I use a shackle can that help bring my suv rear back up
If I install +2" shackles, do I have to install +2" shock? and what about the front, do i have to do something about the +2" installed the back, to maintain the level?
10 years later and still the most helpful video on YT!!
@6:22 bolt should be facing the street.. shouldn't you replace the bolts and nuts the same way you took them off?
Yes, good eye, Threads should be facing out towards the bedside when installing. this will allow maximum room for spare.
@@EEExotic thanks.. wasnt sure if it meant anything.. cool..
this is the way everyone should make a video. excellent job and product!
Thank you, very basic yet straight forward :)

Mike Nguyen. did you have to do anything else to the rear? longer brake lines? longer shocks? etc?

Do you have any videos installing the steering kit for the 3rd gen tundras?
Thank You VERY Much! Clear and Easy to Follow. Much Appreciated.
The shackles you installed were different that the plus 2 & 3 shackles on the ground?

shop-coachbuilder.myshopify.com Let me know if you need a hand with anything.
The shackles don't need to be perpendicular to the ground?
No, The angle constantly changes as the leafs cycle.
so that would give me a two or three inch lift in the back so id have to change my front shocks and upper control arm is there a simple inexpensive for the front as well ?
at 7:01 the leaf spring is resting on the exhaust. will that be an issue?

Removing the tires will make your install much easier and will also def need to remove the spare as well. Give us some feedback after your install.
@@EEExotic what size would u recommend for a 6 inch lift just to get the stock rake look
Should the carrier bearing nuts be loosened a little since? lifting the rear is going to pull on the driveline.
We recommend installing the carrier bearing drop kit after the shackles have been installed and the truck is on the ground. this way the carrier bearing is in a neutral position.
what size shanckles will be needed and with what else to get 4" in lift on tundra rear. eliminate 4" current 4" block.
We normally use our +3"s and a OME leaf pack. Our Largest shackles ( +3"s) provide 1.75" of actual lift.
Impressive that you have not raised prices by much at all even with the volatile steel market.
You should also remove the rear block correct?
does it matter if i use the old bushings in the leaf? and can i anti seize the bolts if i do want to change the bushings at some point. i live in canada i plan on doing this tomorrow on my blazer shes rusty but not to bad
Quick question, is this the same process to install any shackle lift on any truck?
Each vehicle with vary just a touch but for the most part vehicles that use leaf springs will always share the functionality aspect.
I wonder why you only make the 2 or 3 inch sets
Is there a reason you dont make a longer set. I'm looking for 4" of drop. And would prefer to do it all in the shackle instead of a block and shackle mix
What is purpose having longer shackles and what size will I need? I am 3" rear
is it harder to do it one side at a time?
i know sway links like to be quite even for them to free up... is it the same for the shackles/leafs??
you def want to remove both shackles at the same time and then install your new shackles at the same time as well, reason being the axle will pivot in line front the front hangers and will not want to twist.
Can I add these after I already have rear block lift on my tundra? I actually already did just waiting on my new longer shocks lol

so, don't you have to add shackles to both ends of the leaf spring?
wont it be off kilter if you just alter the one end?
