I've been a lamb and a huge huge fan of the Gaither Vocal Band since the early 2000s when I was a kid. David Phelps deserves so much recognition! So does Guy Penrod and Wes Hampton!!
To me he's the best belter amongst all non-classical tenors I've heard, his B4-Eb5 is just insane. He also has excellent dynamic control (see America the Beautiful/God Bless America or Nessun Dorma). I used to think rock vocalists were the best non-classical belters due to people like Vanessa Amorosi. That opinion has changed after I discovered David Phelps and SoHyang.
well yes he is a great belter thats right but please check out the barbershop quartets like instant classic vocal spectrum ringmasters and also check out the don kosaken chor or don cossack choir. all of these have amazing belters in there
Tamara Oktivani he is too stylistic ... so from a technical standpoint he is incosistent. and if he choose to produce resonant like the G5 one his mix is still too heady and his voice will sound girly like Jeffrey Lewis ( that is not bad at all but for his rock style it's not work). and his low is not really good

Um Sheesh You know what i mean? His (belting) range is pretty impressive for a male vocalist. And he backs it up with technique as well. Range doesn’t really mean anything when you don’t have (good) technique. There’s definitely no one better than him.
It's true that his lower register and head voice are nowhere near as strong as his belting area. However, I think that his belting is so strong that it makes up for his weaker areas. He is the best male belter I've heard thus far, by quite a bit actually.
