Let it ferment on the counter for a few days before putting in the fridge ! I would make this all the time but put it right in the fridge which was fine but I recently made a batch and forgot it on the counter and it really fermented and omg the flavor is out of this world ❤
I leave mine on the counter and it taste awesome. It’s gone within a week of making it though

Hi!! Do you grow your own scotch bonnet pepper? I absolutely love them. Unfortunately you’re right, some peppers look like the bonnet but it isn’t the real thing
Gesie Oliscat .. no I don’t grow it, I have a market near my home that usually has it.
You’re lucky you have a nearby market that you can get it. I live in Palm Beach Florida so I grow my own. Markets around me carry the habanero and that isn’t good enough for me. Enjoy your channel!!!
Gesie Oliscat .. nice, I was thinking of growing my own too
Your recipe was the best😄😃😃😃😃 it was easy and fresh and delicious and simple thanks for it
Your welcome hun
You made it very nice and simple with love
Thanks
I'm going to make this now

Good day what would u eat it with is it a side serving
We eat it with fried pork, chicken, fish plantain and goat. You can put it on rice or any other fried food.
Okay I'm late to the game, but I tried this recipe and it is legit
I am glad you enjoyed it!
Love this recipe!
Thanks hun
hi!! love your vids !! can red wine vinegar be used in this recipe?
sherri moore ... traditionally it’s made with white vinegar. Thanks for watching
Hello Annette I don't have scotch bonnet what do I use to substitute. The Pikliz look amazing and delicious. Thank you for sharing
Mindy Tran ... you’re welcome, Habanero peppers Will also work
going to try this today
Jodi Robinson ...enjoy hun
Can you do it this way and still put it in a jar with more vinegar to sit?... Gotta try and make my own, tired of waiting on a new jar from my mom.
Yes
Perfect!!
DO YOU HAVE A RECIPE FOR POTATO SALAD (WITHOUT BEETS)?
ßiTE SiZE ßAяßiE ....yes
Hi my name is Jackie I love Haitian Food can u please send me some recipes for spice and rice in beans thanks for sharing some of your recipes thanks
Jacqueliñe Hubbard ... I have A video on how to make rice and beans on my channel, it’s easy to follow. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks
Is this the only way you make it? The blender didn't have an after taste. Only asking because I have my own blender for epis and you can't get that taste out
vegan Haitian ... you can also chop the Scotch bonnet into small pieces. To prevent your blender from smelling like epis or whatever your blending. Immediately after using it, rinse it out, then fill it up with detergent and water. Let it soak for an hour or so, then wash it out thoroughly. Do not put lid back on until its completely dry.
@@dorannette26 thank you.
This comment made me laugh cause i bought 3 blenders and tag them 1 for seasoning 1 for smoothies and a glass one for anything else..the seasoning sticks to plastic
Yes, the smell is still there and I made a smoothie girl. It tasted nasty
Lani Love ... you're welcome
Never seen it done without letting the cabbage marinate in the vinegar lime blend. Guess that would do if you just want a crunchy cabbage blend.
....i did a quick version, which is equally great on fried food. Thanks for commenting Mr Lopez
@@dorannette26 oh no thank you for sharing your technique and recipe variance.
My husband likes a crunchy pikliz he doesn't like the soggy pickliz@@dorannette26
Amazing
G.AURORA PECK ...thanks
Thanks for sharing the non GMO: Gluten free Maggie ♥️ been looking for a healthy one
Same. MSG is toxic
Is there a hatian style sandwich ??? And could u show me if there is
There's no special way of making it..
Hello Annette, I like the way you cook, except for the Maggie seasoning that is not good for the health. Keep up the good work you are doing
Thanks hun, by the way I use a non GMO / gluten free maggie
Annette, What is the name of the non Gmo maggie that you use?
Where can you get the non GMO/gluten free maggie?
Way to go Annette!!!!
Do a video on how to make Fritay🌴❤🍽🇭🇹😁🍛
Nancy Noel ...thanks hun, I have a few Fritay videos up...check them out. I will make some more very soon.
Annette Dor ok.....pls Annette I don't know if u did a video on Lambi if u haven't can u pls make. Video on that too....🍹🍛💎❤👰🌴🍗🍛🍾
Nancy Noel ... i will make it on Saturday for sure
How long is this stored for?
No but Americans call it spicy coleslaw
The one that you have in a jar with the whole Scotch bonnet, do I do it the same way?? Minus the blending?
lovelylady0200 ..no, I put some whole and cut some in half, I will upload my hot sauce video by next week Thursday
Annette Dor amazing!! I will try it this week, the but instead I will cut up the peppers, like my coworker does it... I will also try it this way too, so I can have a variety. How long will they keep in a jar? My cowork does not know, because she said it goes fast in her house.
lovelylady0200 ... yes, you can add bell peppers and red peppers. I like mine basics but delicious. It doesn’t last in my home either my kids puts it on everything, lol. It can last a long time because the vinegar preserves it. I leave mines out for a week to alloy it to ferment before refrigerate it.
Thank you
Your welcome
Merci anpil Amour; now I know how 😘
What is this served with?
It's usally served with fried food
Yes angel star fried pork 🇭🇹 style and fried turkey wings or legs its really good
Hi I love you and everything you do please can you share the Maggie you get from amazon
Thanks hun, just type non msg maggie and it should pop up
Looks yummy...tfs!😍😋❤
can i order some
ronald decrumpe ....yes where do yo live
@@dorannette26 i live in Lake City Florida, 45 min north of Gainesville
ronald decrumpe ... I'm also in Florida but you're about 5 hours from where I Iive. Your too far!
Why why why maggi?
Ava Joubert ....the Maggie I used has no msg...I stop using the cubes a few years ago.
Annette Dor You really should make that clear because the minute I heard you say that, I’m thinking “I prefer healthy”. Thank You for the clarification.
@@centerpromise5900 ... you're welcome, I usually mention, I use the non MSG Maggie on my videos, but I guess it slept my mind on this video.
Remove the seed?😳🤦🏾♂️
Garvey Jean-Simon ....yes I remove the seeds because I use real scotch bonnet peppers. The seeds are extremely spicy but the skin has enough heat. It makes no sense to make a pikliz you can’t enjoy because it’s too spicy.
That is a French or Creole speaking person speaking English.Yass! I will watch your full video.I know it may be highly discriminatory...but when I am looking for Caribbean recipes,I look for someone with a Caribbean accent.. or remnants of it...
Mwen se yon fanm Ayisyèn natif natal. Sispan avek ti mantalite sou- devlopman sa yo !
Wap pale anglais epi ou ekri Haïti😂😂😂
Frantz Bien-Aimme ....sa ou poko konpwan’n nan; an Ayiti ampil moun pale anglè kou rat : so zafè ki gagew si ou toujou lan dada kamyonèt- la !
I'm not Haitian but here checking out different pikliz recipes and I must say this is a LOT of salt. You did mention the flavor of pikliz should come from the peppers (and to me the carrots) so that is why most recipes I've seen have a pinch of salt. You added Maggi ANNND salt. That is a day's worth of sodium. I'm sorry I am a nurse and just have to educate people about heart disease, hypertension. Thanks for the video, I know they take a lot of work ! Take care.
Erick Anderson .... I disagree, the salt was balanced considering the amount of cabbage. The Maggie I used is not as salty as the cubes. I promise, I didn’t eat the whole jar, I did share. Traditionally we add just a tad bit on your food. I have a heart of a 16-year-old and no hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol etc(praise God)Thanks for commenting.
You're not supposed to eat a lot it's a garnish
