I make this pikliz on the regular. I even got my neighbor hooked on it 😂. Please can you make a haitian meatball recipe. My meatballs always come out dry 😭 show me the right way the haitian way 🇭🇹 lol
Yesss! It’s coming soon I promise
Thank you for this video. My husband is Haitian and your channel has helped me open up to cooking more Haitian dishes for him to enjoy. Thank you!!!
Your story reminds me when I was a little girl my mother sent me to the store for cabbage and I came back with lettuce😂
Ingrid France 🤣😂🤣 shhh 👀🤫don’t tell nobody but I did that too when I was like 13 🤣😂🤣😂
😂😂
She’s hilarious 😂 “I was gon say sum but I ain’t got talk bout nobody” great video thank you
Thank you dear, I have not been living like a Haitian until this PIKLIZ tutorial came along. Now I will be making this one every six months. FYI...the pikliz taste way better using organic cabbage instead of the already shredded one from the bag from experience.
Hope you enjoy
New subber 07/23/24✊🏾🤎. Had this about 15 years ago from the Haitian brother and sisters that rented one side of our church ( for their service) and they had a celebration.
I’ve NEVER forgotten about how it burned my mouth so GOOD!!! So GLAD I found you so I can FINALLY make this!!!
Thank you sister✊🏾🤎
You are so welcome 🤗
Thank you @cooking with Freddie. Your videos are great. Especially this one. I LOVE the way you say "nasty". Keep it up. Coleslaw IS nasty to me. Period.
Best voice-over ever! Even with the kids 🤣💚
Thank you for a thorough and great recipe!
Thank u ☺️

@@cookingwithfreddie It is great. The flavor was ready right away
Made it last night. Hubby approved! I will make a bigger amount today and keep in fridge! Thank you for this video!
Oh my goodness thank you for sharing because I love Pickys and where I live there is no Haitian restaurant where I live so now I can make my own. Thank you.
Thank you sis!!! I trusted the process and it came out bomb. Literally just finished making it. Side note: somebody should have warned me about the fumes 🤣 I took a nice sniff and instantly regretted it 😂😂
In Jamaica we use to warm the vinegar but with adding the Maggie seasoning great job and I won’t warm the vinegar thanks again
Your children might be running around all crazywayz in the background but that makes the video more authentic-just like being in somebody's kitchen watching them cooking. You know the day's going to come soon enough when the nest will be empty and you're going to miss all that noise in the background. God bless you and your family.
I am here for your 200k and still using this to make Pikliz. Also, yes, Coleslaw pou blan. 😂Had it for the first time, never again. 200k lets goooo 🇭🇹.
Yes!!!! I couldn't agree more with you.

I’m going to try this I spend so much on little cups of pikliz at the only Haitian restaurant I like. This looks just like it 😭🙌🏾
Moved to Texas and there is no decent haitian food here. Just Moun Blan version. Thank you Freddy, you are the absolute best. Also coleslaw is nasty. Just had it for the first time, thrash.
"Moun blan version" thas a wrap😂😂😂 even my cat will not eat anything from me that's a version of such unless it's marinated with Haitian seasoning. I feel you my dear🤣🤣🤣

Hi hun I love all your videos. In this video you said teaspoon of seasoning, salt, but on the description it says 1 tablespoon which one is it?
love the video my sister pikliz looks great, just a heads up you will strip the blade if you keep pulling the blender off will the blade is still going.
Ohhh wow thank you for the tip I really appreciate it.

"Cole slaw is NASTY"! I will agree to disagree w u on that one😂 u need to ad pineapple girl!
Thx for the recipe :)
Blessings ❤️💛☘️
Great recipe! If you are going to use lime juice why not zest the lime first to add another pop of flavour to your pikliz? I will make your pikliz this weekend for sure!
Great tip!
How long can you keep it b4 it goes bad
Thank you! I hate hearing people calling it coleslaw 😒
me too lol.
HOWEVER THATS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS...
@dwayneevans683 Until they try to eat it by the spoonful and burn their mouths. That's when they realize it's not coleslaw.
Thank you 💯
Thank you for this video. I have a question. I went to a friend's party and she had all kinds of delicious food. I loved what I thought was salad, but it was similar but I remember had corn. Could you tell me if it can be added too? it was delicious, all your ingredients plus corn... thanks!! hug to your daughter so cute
I have never seen it with corn in it
“First of all that’s nasty🤢 second of all , you you you it’s spicy 🌶 “ lmaooo 😂
🤣😂🤣😂
Can I use apple cider vinegar instead of distilled vinegar? And if so how much?
Best commentary ever 😂
Thank you
I laugh through this whole video! Love this! I’m not a fan of Maggi for health reasons so I’ll try it with salt and all purpose seasoning 🤷♀️
"Lettuce and stuff" 😂😂
😂🤣🤣 the way she kept calling it lettuce lmao
I know I know I know lol no why keep beating my bloody butt🤦🏽♀️ how😂🤣😂
In your video you said 1 cup but the recipe written says 1 1/2 cup of vinegar. Which is correct? I’m asking because I tried someone else’s recipe and it tasted like pure vinegar so I don’t want to put too much. Thank you in advance for your response
The recipe hon I messed up in the video
What were the name of the peppers that you use? Lol You said you took out the big pieces of the lettuce. Lol thanks for sharing can’t wait to try it. My husband is Haitian so I’m sure he’s going to love it but not too spicy
Did you ever make it? How did it turn out?
@@cookingwithfreddie no I didn’t make it yet but will.
How do i keep it fresh....outside ok to keep...or frigidaire?
Keep it refrigerated I mentioned that in the video hon.
Lol kept it real. I know y'all hear my bad azz kids lol. Keep pushing people like to listen to someone they can relate to
Coleslaw is not nasty, it is to you because you do not like it but there are people how loves it. Believe it or not it may have people who don't like piklis as well
What’s not to believe I’m sure there’s people out there that don’t like pikliz and that’s okay. Just like I think coleslaw is nasty and that’s okay.
Suggestions on what to get it with?
Eat it with?
That intro is cute, you should use it on every video
Thank you and I do lol
@@cookingwithfreddie oh amazing! 😊
Eat it with fried plantains. It’s too good!!!
So good!
Is it absolutely necessary to have onions? Will it mess up the flavor if I don't? Only reason I'm asking is cuz I don't have any and too lazy to make another run to the store😩🤣🤣
It really do help with the flavors but u can make it without
“Ain’t nothing like cole slaw because cole slaw is NASTY”
PREACH I hate cole slaw. Your commentary is so funny. Great video!! Can’t wait to try this.
Girllll! It’s sooooo nasty to me
I love coleslaw and pikliz.
What can I substitute for maggi cubes. I can't find none. Can I make it without it and add extra seasoning? Thanks
sorry for the late reply try adobo
