I hope when people ask you what you do that you don't just say, "I'm a UA-camr." and you say "I am a nature enthusiast and a Storyteller.", because that Sir, is what you truely are. I know that the silence is something a lot of people are afraid of and this showed the beauty in the "silence" of nature and what you probably experience and appreciate a lot in your travels. I also loved seeing some of the behind the camera shot set-ups etc... You forget how much thought, awareness and time all that takes when you are watching a well-shot and edited video. LOVED this video.

When I was young I was raised as a serious Roman Catholic. My mom was an Irish Catholic and my dad was a "Dutch Reformed Presbyterian". My dad took an oath to raise their kids Catholic when they were married. I was an altar boy, etc. Later the Church and I went separate ways. I never regretted, except for one thing: the experience left me with a deep earning for ritual and mystical experience. I think this was due in large part to my personal makeup. In any case, my travels to remote areas away from the beaten tract have more than filled that void. Simple things become enormously satisfying. As you did here, living the the wild (with creature comforts) leaves one with a sense of awe. Attention to detail is enhanced. The bushes become things of interest. The sound of the breeze through the rocks is fascinating... Well done, this video captures that feeling (including making pancakes). I started in high school riding my motorcycle out into the Anza Borrego Desert east of San Diego and to Joshua Tree National Monument. I'd ride up some wash 5 or 10 miles away from anything (at least what there was - this was in the 1960's and there wasn't much). I'd camp in one spot and just contemplated nature. After a while the animals and birds would come out - they would ignore me and I could get an understanding of what they were about. Now days, I stay on approved jeep trails and travel to the same kinds of places all over the western United States and still experience that feeling of deep satisfaction and awe. I'm in my 70s now. It sure does make life worth living.

A little info about saguaro cactus, they live to be as much as 150-200 years old, are very slow growing cactus. A 10 year old plant might only be 1.5 inches tall. Saguaro can grow to be between 40-60 feet tall. The saguaro is the largest cactus in the United States. Most of the saguaros roots are only 4-6 inches deep and radiate out as far from the plant as it is tall. Thanks Slim for the beautiful scenery.

yep loved the water trick ha ha. oh and the Babb montana shirt lol. Another great video. I'm biting at the bit to get out in nature I can't wait until winter is gone for another year. We have lots of snow and sub zero weather. Not to mention the cold north wind in our Blackfeet language we call it Mahkapi or istoosapoo. In 3 years I will be debt free. I built a tiny house so I could get out if debt. planned my route to be debt free then I get to hit the road and become a nomad lol. I can't wait! But for now my summers are filled with small camping trips and long hikes I don't have to go too far because Glacier National park is in my backyard😁

I LIKE IT!!! Walking through the Chainfruit Cholla was really creative! Your photographic eye is terrific! However, I would HIGHLY recommend using a RED light at night to preserve your night vision. I am ALWAYS annoyed by noise pollution. One of my greatest peeves: Harley Davidson... "turning gas into noise since 1903". Another major peeve: people listening to music on the trails WITHOUT EARBUDS!!! Another one: Cars with SEWER PIPE exhausts. Nuff said ;-)
