Your videos are always incredible, but this is exemplary. Beautiful, frightening, creative, and purposeful. I'll stop there, lest the noise of my words joins the meaningless cacophony of sound coming from the South Rim.

I really enjoy your videos quite a lot. However, this one was especially wonderful. Your approach to the edge of the canyon and the reveal of the river with only the sound of the canyon building as the river came into sight was emotionally stunning! I was overwhelmed by the majestic view and we could all tell you were too! Keep up your wonderful explorations, large or small they are all so enjoyable.

I continue to watch and relish all of your videos, but I don’t always comment. So, I’m just chiming in here to register my deep and pervasive appreciation for the sights, sounds, and thoughts that you share, and the thoroughly informative, beautiful, engaging and charming ways that you share them! Poetry for the eye, ear, mind and heart. I tend to be cautious & timid about new adventures, but you inspire me to consider stretching beyond my fears to explore, discover, savor, appreciate and enjoy. Thank you so very, very much 🌺🌼🌸💐

Just got to see this one. Nice one, Slim. The last time I saw the Grand Canyon was 1964. I was a kid but still found it way too busy. PS...as a former professional musician, I enjoyed your very creative musical performance.

OMW Slim what a great video. Breathtaking views. A few years ago at this same time we did a the train ride from Williams. I parked my RV in the Hotel parking lot. And yes not an hour later snow! And yes it was cold. When we came back the to the MH nothing worked, no propane no nothing. Drove over to a propane place and he said someone had mixed the propane with another fuel, he drained the tank refilled it showed me how to reset everything for $3. What an amazing adventure that was. As always thank you for sharing your journeys with us.

wow! You are so poetic! I love your videos! I feel just like you when I am in nature and there are a lot of people around, talking and making noise... I almost feel anti social at times! LOL! But actually, I am a people person... just not when I am in nature. I like to be alone, and have the chance to meditate and hear the sounds of nature, the birds chirping, the wind in the trees...I just want to soak up the beauty surrounding me...

I have a phobia of being close to cliff edges. It’s not a fear of heights (I used to skydive and bungee jump). It’s more to do with a fear that the edge will give way. 8:15 Wow, I really know where you’re coming from. 😱🥴🤢🤮. I too was not so taken with the Grand Canyon, knowing it was spectacular but I could not figure out what I was disappointed with but I think you have nailed it on the head. I was awe struck when you stepped over the rim at your spot and as you said let nature provide the sounds and sights. You earned that view.

Last visit, I entered Grand Canyon at 7:00AM. A couple photographers, and beautiful light. VERY quiet. The overlooks and Canyon Village didn't get busy until around noon.Left around 1:30 PM, and the line of cars entering was at least a mile long.

I love the North Rim - so much beauty and as you found, so much more quiet and peace. But really, a nice walk east or west a mile or two from the lodges at the South Rim will also bring some peace - just not quite as much. The canyon is about 3 miles wide and a mile deep at the South Rim and at the North - a few miles farther West from the main stuff, it's 3 miles deep and only a mile wide - much different. This is fantastic - I felt as though I was there!

Visited the Grand Canyon in 2009. Did my research beforehand and my wife and I found a place to camp, right on the edge of the canyon that was 56 miles down a dirt road, the last 8 miles of which was slickrock with no one seen or heard once we got on the dirt. According to a reputable source, this location is the most remote place in the lower 48 states. Wish I could tell you where it is, but I want to keep it as untouched as possible. Inside Grand Canyon National Park, but no admission charges, no camping fees, no camping registration, and best of all - no people. We were there two days and never saw anyone else, either going there, while there or when leaving. Much higher canyon walls that where you were. Great Place.

I recently toured Scotland and as it was high season it was bustling with tourists. Forced out into the wilds I found it more rewarding to wild camp alone in the woods or on the less well known spots along the coast. The down side though is realising just how noisy my home town is once I got back. Back to work now and saving up for my next jaunt.
