  • I misspoke in the video, these are 2018 JK wheels and NOT Grand Cherokee wheels which would be WK2 wheels. The WK2 wheels also have 14 mm studs so watch out.
    You will want 1.5" wheel spacers and a 2" lift to achieve what I have done. If you skip the spacers you will need to look at trimming the upper ball joint studs and grinding the front caliper brackets down. The 2" lift will save your front fenders if you have worn out old shocks.

    I did this to my ’07 JGC 3.0. With QD2, does very well off road. at 180,000 had the oil cooler replaced (expensive), but runs like a train!

    Thanks for all this information, I appreciate your help and knowledge. I just got a diesel 2008.5 with just 64k on the clock, love it so far. I think I also have the leaking injectors and my engine won’t come up to temperature, it stays halfway between centre and cold. So I’ll take it back to the dealership and hopefully they will fix both problems for free, I know it’s a ton of work. Thanks again

    The wheel well flare add ons must be for the wheel spacers add ons to keep the rocks from hitting the mirrors and door handles.

    Nice video.. Iam Apostolos Exaras from Greece and I have a WK 2007 3.0 diesel. As you told in the video, your tires are 255 70 R18 that means are exactly 32". Can you tell me, please, if tthe spare tire with the same size of 32", fit in the slot under the body on your WK? Thanks.

    The rust is scary crazy under such a nice Jeep. You should have kept up with that.

    Hi. When you perform a coolant change and flush would you mind posting a Video please? I have read the OM642 can be tricky to do. Air locks.

      Yeah, the shop had done mine just before i bought it and the coolant level kept moving and changing all the time. Pushing out coolant then being too low. Thought i`d bought a lemon there for a while. Refilled the coolant bottle one day and as it was running and heating up and spent 10 minutes squeezing the hoses all over back and forth. Had to put a little more coolant in when it was cooled down and that was the last time i ever had to for the last year. Problem solved. Got to really squeeze and pump those hoses to drive out all the air bubbles.

    What adjustable arms did you use to bring the axle back to center? Thanks!

    • @SteveRivett
      @SteveRivett  Рік тому

      I never changed the rear arms on mine so it is out of adjustment, there are a couple companies that still make rear control arms for the WK if you look around.

    Would you still need adjustable links if you were just getting adjustable shocks that raise the ride hight 2 or so inches

      no, you will be fine, the wheel on the one side just sticks out a bit on the one side.
