WJ yes . WK no. WKs ride great and are comfortable and the brakes are great but everything else is garbage. The 4.7 is slow unless it is an H.0. the interior falls apart, the body has all kinds of pockets that hold road salt. 17" wheels have limited tire choices. Good luck getting the lower strut bolts out. The sun roof leaks water the dash lights all burn out. There is no oil pressure gauge. The rear cup holder broke the inside door handles broke. The 4x4 system is fantastic in snow and ice but I feel offroad it would be likely to get stuck easily. Gets horrible gas mileage. A full size Ram 4x4 hemi gets the same gas mileage, 16mpg at the best. Etc.
I am very surprised he didn't mention that some trims came with 3 factory locking diffs! Not many other cars on the market can say that they offered that.
I still have my 2010 WK North edition with the 5.7 l engine and Quadra-drive II with only 119,000 km on it. Bought it for towing my 5,500 lbs travel trailer, wich it did superbly. Of course it is a gaz guzzler but you get what you pay for in power, comfort and amazing handlind in winter conditions we have 4-5 months a year here in Québec. Thanks for the review. Yes, it has an ELSD in front.
i have a 2010 wk laredo 4x2 hemi-optioned up like a limited-owned since new-not quite 40k miles. it isnt big on the inside like other midsized suvs-but it is most definitely fun to drive and fast with the hemi. i have a magnaflow exhaust, cai, diablosport programming, performance sway bars and installed a yukon gear limited slip differential-i did this because it is squirrelly in the wet with the hemi-the electronic nannies are not fast enough-and a throttle booster-if you do just one performance improvemen do that to get the lag out of the throttle. i dont plan on getting rid of it anytime soon-it has been my most trustworthy vehicle. after 14 years i cannot complain. downside-because it is jeep the parts are more. i went to california once-coming back in new mexico where it is flat-over 26 mpg with the a/c on....the hemis get good mileage on the highway if you arent lead footing it and set the cruise.
@BernonCars would you recommend this rig as a reliable daily driver and some weekend trips? Looking to buy one with 100k miles in phenomenal condition but a bit worried about maintenance and reliability of the 5.7 hemi
They're pretty reliable but they have their fault points! A lot of small nonsensical items throughout to possibly annoy the crap out of you overtime haha. Like things breaking
Any Grand Cherokee fans here?
I have an '07. Love it. Hope to see more of it.
Yes, me for example from Switzerland with a `06 SRT8. Just love this thing!
‘05 and loving it!
I have a 2006 with hemi and I love it

Great vid... Lets see it off road! WK's are forgotten gems with all lockers from factory.

WK off road will be coming sometime soon!! I thought I mentioned the triple lockers! Maybe not haha
The last of the real Quadradrive 2. The WK2 does not have the electronic LSD on the front. Instead it gives Quadratrac function on the front.
Ahh interesting!
One owner. Garage life. 45 k miles. 06. Overland.
Ohh wow low miles! Very nice!

Our 4.7 has 320k KMs
Nice!
The charger of this era with the 5.7 was rated 5 less hp & 15 lbft of torque more but weighed about the same at 2 tons
Interesting!
I remember my dad got rid of his WJ for a 65th anniversary WK. Had some cool options. I always thought the WK aged like shit compared to the WJ.
Nice, yeah I agree. These just didn't age well
Another banger
Thank you my mann

I’d love to take that from Boulder up Switzerland trail to Estes Park. It would roost up there!

You forgot about the Nissan xterra
Right good thought
Hi Bern is the Volvo 2.5T CX90 stronger then the Jeep 40
Hmm I think a Grand Cherokee with the 4.0 would be stronger
My step brother had one for three months then he crash and wrecked it
Damn thats a shame!
12 mpg terrible i have the 3.0 v6 crd makes same torque as 5.7 v8 and gets 21 avg
Yeah haha it was dogshit!! the CRD is the one I'd get for sure
My daily driver is an '08 Jeep SRT8.
150k miles
8 - 10 mpg
Fast asf!
