Too many things here that I loved about this performance: Eric was playing all like he used to back then i.e without worrying about making mistakes. He just flowed during the solos. Dear almighty, didn't that soothe my heart. He was looking chic and singing so great as usual. Thank you for everything, Eric!
Yeah, and by the looks of it they have finally turned the lights on for the German part of the tour. Last week in Prague the band were merely silhouettes in the dark.
If you watch, before he goes into a solo, he rolls his lower tone pot below the bridge. That kicks on an internal mid range booster. That's why his chords blend with the rest of the band and his solo work is right up front. When he's done with the solo, he rolls back the dial on that modified control and his chords blend in again. I've been meaning to get one of those installed on my Strat
Die Backroundsängerin war mit dem Tamburin etwas neben dem Takt und kam weiter hinten im Dom als nerviges Nebengeräusch an. Aber EC war natürlich, wie gewohnt, erstklassig, zwar Wortkarg, aber wir sind wegen der Musik da!
Breaking Point was included in the setlist for certain dates during the Journeyman World tour; it was retired shortly after the Stockholm Globen show on February 16th, 1990.
