Thank you! I have been trying to get confirmation on what in the world the additional wires/posts are for (red and black in this case) on these simple switches. It's just for the indicator light on the switch itself. NO impact on the switch functionality.
I bought the same exact switches and I'm trying to convert toggle switches on my boat to these. Basically I pulled my hair out of my head for 4 hours connecting the wires every which way I coul to the existing wires. The only thing that works is that blue light on the switch itself but haven't been able to turn on bilge fan the wires are connected to. But this video has given me some ideas and I will give it another shot tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how it goes.
Would this be suitable for a outboard engine start button say by the steering wheel ? Saves me leaning over to press the start button on the actual engine Everytime I want to start my boat ?
Very informative and easy instructions to follow!

3:06 Is there a way to wire it so the LED ring is lit when the switch is off so the switch is easier to see in the dark?
Yes, just take the red and black leads coming off the switch to any 12v source of your choosing. The switch will still function the same.
Slow as heck get to the point
