I'm not sure there's a clear winner, just two mind sets. Tanner is into miniatures & coloring inside the lines while Ed is into bigatures & coloring outside the lines:) I like em' both. Of course I would like them better if they were here with me;) LOL

Both ponds look fantastic! I chose yours, Ed, because you built for the animals that would make this their habitat. Serpa has a beautiful pond that was created to be beautiful to look at, irregardless of what would live in it. I am 1000% about functionality first and it can still look beautiful.

I love how very differently two talented, creative people use the same basic start. I wouldn’t pick a favorite. I’ve been trying to come up with a good way to grow watercress, one of my favorite herbs. This would be perfect.

I think they're both good for different purposes. For an indoor setup, I'd say that Tanner's would be the way to go since everything is contained within the mini pond but yours is good for an outdoor setup where you'd have more room to do some detailing around the pond. Also I think that a lot of times Tanner's setups can definitely seem overwhelming with all the details but I really like the fact that yours seems much more attainable and low maintenance.

Built one for my Mom and she loves it!! Thanks to you Sir!
    My materials are the following:
-Kawa pot with stand (supposedly for my bocida plant bonsai🌱)
    -Stones in the backyard
    -dead bonsai tree roots
-small plants found in the canals 😅
    -10 watts water pump
    - old table cloth (my liner😂)
    - styrofoam on the garage
    Most of all...
    - inspirations from the videos of The pond professor, The pond guy, Team Aquascape, serpadesign👌
-expandale foam got stuck from the courier because of locked down 😭
Once I got it there will be no visible liner and everything will look natural

Hi Ed, nice work again, but it seems like both of you did your best to cover up the spillway plastic, which we all do with pond liner too of course. For $200, perhaps a few pieces of extra plastic could be incorporated in the kit which can be hung off the sides of the spillway or bowl too hold a bit of growing medium and allow moss or small ferns to be grown. Drill a couple of weep holes and it would work pretty well. Just a thought. Cheers

From a design standpoint it came out great. My only issue would be that you just about have to climb over the log to look down to see the fish. If there was some way to put it on top of something to where is more at eye level to where you could appreciate it but then it might be hard to incorporate that big log in there. All in all though, I like it!
🤔I bet it would look really cool if there was a way to put it on top of one of your stacked slate walls and then the log would fit alongside it in some way!

Good evening Ed hope your having an amazing weekend. Im so happy to see that your doing well and healthy thru these crazy times. Very scary. Omg this bowl system you created is absolutely amazing. Im in love. Their perfect for small places and people that live in condos or appartments that dont have a back yard that only have balconies. Now everyone can enjoy a waterfeature and have a relaxing experience at home. This is an awsome product that you guys have created. I will definitely recommend this product to our customers and i know they will love this. People have been asking us to make decorative pots for them for years after people saw our little pond off my front staircase and have just added a little solar fountain to go in. This is perfect they can have a total package minus the plants and very lightweight. Love this will definitely be recommending this. Is this available on the aquascape website already? Will have to order one for sure for my girlfriend and myself. I would put this inside my house for sure. Their is nothing better than the sound of water to relax you. Great job Ed and i remember watching the vlog and beeing blown away at the set up of his basement and the excitement in your eyes when you saw it. Very knowledgeable young man aswell. Great to see to great minds coming together and creating this awsome little system that anyone can own. Great job. Please stay safe thru this pandemic and i hope it passes soon so we can all get back to our passion and projects for this year. Have an amazing day and ill see you next video like always.

I love the log you found, I personal would use the log behind Aquascape AquaGarden Mini Pond Kit even if the log has been prop up. The log has lots little hollows to plant small plants as well as Moss and Tillandsia's. I personal wouldn’t use fish-bone fern as it is an invasive weed in Australia. I don’t know what grade plastic is used to make the Aquascape AquaGarden Mini Pond Kit but I can see it used as a self cleaning cat watering pond just add cat mint and some fast moving fish.

Never bury the rhizome of java fern. They are epiphytic and the rhizome will rot if buried in substrate. Instead they can be zip tied, tied with cotton thread or crazy glued with gorilla gel to drift wood or rocks and placed where you want them in your set up. So long as the rhizome is in the water the plant will grow new leaves and send out rootlets to anchor them to the wood or stone they are attached to.

Nice result. If I put a goldfish in there, do I have to use extra filtration? How often must the water be changed?

    • @edbeaulieu5916
      @edbeaulieu5916 4 роки тому

      Joan Greer No,
A goldfish or even several would do great in this system!
If it’s indoors I’d recommend a partial water change 1x/6months
If it’s outdoors the rain will take care of it for you
