Good stuff Ed! I could definitely see something like this integrated around a pond or other landscaping.
SerpaDesign Thanks Tanner!
subscribed to his channel right after watching your video on the mini-pond + giveaway haha please pick me winks
i was the 100th like!~
I'm not sure there's a clear winner, just two mind sets. Tanner is into miniatures & coloring inside the lines while Ed is into bigatures & coloring outside the lines:) I like em' both. Of course I would like them better if they were here with me;) LOL
Anthony Bowers totally!
Anthony Bowers I agree!
Thanks for your feedback!
Damn I just watched Tanner’s video and I genuinely can’t decide haha! They both look so so cool. I love how you surrounded yours with the ferns and wood, I wouldn’t have thought of that. This is such a cool concept guys and an awesome collaboration!
Ella Johnson Thanks Ella!
I really enjoyed watching how you and Tanner took very different approaches to setting up this pond.
dyrcosis Thanks for watching!
That's a HUGE piece of wood ! Really cool project, it's fun to see the different approach taken by Serpa design
Strange Platypus Thanks for your feedback!
That's what she said. SORRY! Love the ferns, just because of them your design prevails!!! Also, being able to change things up is a big plus for us with limited space - but an overflow of ideas.
i absolutely love the contrast of this collab. both of your designs are amazing and truly unique!
Thank you!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder……
Both ponds look fantastic! I chose yours, Ed, because you built for the animals that would make this their habitat. Serpa has a beautiful pond that was created to be beautiful to look at, irregardless of what would live in it. I am 1000% about functionality first and it can still look beautiful.
Cathleen Baldwin Maggi Thanks for your feedback Cathleen!
I love how very differently two talented, creative people use the same basic start. I wouldn’t pick a favorite. I’ve been trying to come up with a good way to grow watercress, one of my favorite herbs. This would be perfect.
JIMinSealBeach It would be perfect for that!
I’ve had great success with watercress in outdoor ponds
Love your idea and approach to your pond, simple but natural. I also enjoyed watching you put together Tanners front yard waterfall pond.
Wendy Henschel Thanks Wendy!
They both look great! Nice job Ed and Tanner! Love them both!
YennYenn Thank you!
Dude Tanners pond is so beautiful. As are these ponds!
Hi Ed, Your setup is beautiful and more for outdoors in my opinion and you explained the setup of the pond in more detail but I do believe that the way Tanner designed his pond is better. Thanks for the fantastic video.
Alice R I like Tanners over mine!!!
Thanks for your feedback!
I think they're both good for different purposes. For an indoor setup, I'd say that Tanner's would be the way to go since everything is contained within the mini pond but yours is good for an outdoor setup where you'd have more room to do some detailing around the pond. Also I think that a lot of times Tanner's setups can definitely seem overwhelming with all the details but I really like the fact that yours seems much more attainable and low maintenance.
Stephanie Thanks for the feedback Stephanie!
I think adding a nice colorful rock where you were kneeling at the end of the video would complete the project
Dang this is a nice pond setup. Would love to experiment with this. Great Job.
ItzReece Thanks!!!
I so want that big drift log you got on the outside you did a fabulous job actually I love both of you guys design such creativity 👀💓👍🏽
embrace n reborns It was a great find!
Awesome set up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Looks great. I have my 600 Litre ponds on my deck surrounded by plants and a large Moss Rock.
It's a very Zen place to be 😆
So pretty!.. I loved the timelapse that showed your process
leescience Thanks for watching!
I love what you do Ed. But when it comes to mini. Serpa is the man. I gotta pick him
Anwar Knapp I agree!
Wow amazing scape kit!!! Love it
Beautiful work! I came here from Tanner's channel. I can't choose. You both came at it from different angles.
Love the log in front. Such a fun build.
Mary Jo Collard Thank you!
I watched both of these bowl creations! What a fun and creative way to bring nature to your home. Beautiful work.
I love the pump placement.... I hope there is a bigger one down the line❤❤❤
Mez Martinez Patio Ponds!
www.aquascapeinc.com/product-category/decorative-water-features/patio-ponds
I ❤️ THEM BOTH! (That’s both projects that is!) Ok you guys too 😜😘
Greg Wittstock, The Pond Guy Thanks Greg!!!
SerpaDesign sent me. Great job on your mini aquascape!
Lorchid23 Thanks for watching!
Built one for my Mom and she loves it!! Thanks to you Sir!
My materials are the following:
-Kawa pot with stand (supposedly for my bocida plant bonsai🌱)
-Stones in the backyard
-dead bonsai tree roots
-small plants found in the canals 😅
-10 watts water pump
- old table cloth (my liner😂)
- styrofoam on the garage
Most of all...
- inspirations from the videos of The pond professor, The pond guy, Team Aquascape, serpadesign👌
-expandale foam got stuck from the courier because of locked down 😭
Once I got it there will be no visible liner and everything will look natural
Both of your builds are amazing! I love how you integrated that huge log, I'd be worried about some hitchhikers coming along with it but it looks fantastic.
That was gorgeous! I love the big piece of wood, and working plants and pond around it. Off to watch Tanner's now :)
Mary Jo Beug Thank you!
Tanner knocked it out of the park (as expected)! I like your design too, Ed. You and Tanner are kindred spirits!
You and Tanner's videos are great the best great information
#monmonsworld fremind Thanks for your support!
I think both of your projects if mixed together would've been perfect. In your design, it shows the material inside the pond while it shows the outside in his pond.
Omg, this is such a dream for me. If you guys are ever in Singapore feel free to ravage my barren garden into one of these GORGEOUS natural river system ponds.
I wish i could join but im from the Philippines , im really into ponds aquariums turtles and fish, i made our plant box into a pond so i can have different sort of fishes in there aside from mollies 😆, ive learned a lot from your videos, thanks for always inspiring people to live the aquascape life style
Bebe Ghie That’s great!
We’ll have more giveaways in the future!
Stay tuned......
Would be a great fun project with my two little guys during this harsh times. Great ideas!!!
ON THE JOB That’s great!!!
I’m thinking for my small birds hehe in the cage ! I love it !
Hi Ed, nice work again, but it seems like both of you did your best to cover up the spillway plastic, which we all do with pond liner too of course. For $200, perhaps a few pieces of extra plastic could be incorporated in the kit which can be hung off the sides of the spillway or bowl too hold a bit of growing medium and allow moss or small ferns to be grown. Drill a couple of weep holes and it would work pretty well. Just a thought. Cheers
I’m so glad you mentioned biomimicry techniques! I’m working on my Undergrad Certificate in Biomimicry right now! Hoping to pursue it further in grad school (: Cool to see a self-proclaimed biomimic with such a big platform!!
I seen both and loved both wish you guys did one together cause you had the exterior environment going and his was the interior of the pond put that together boom
Thanks for watching!!!
I’m looking forward to working with Tanner later this year on a few projects.
These are really a neat project!! What a place to use all my artistic and UA-cam knowledge!!! I love it!
Mary Paige Flynn Awesome!
This has totally inspired me to build something like this on out patio. Thank you!!
Nic Magnuson we can ship you yours Monday!
Nic Magnuson Glad you enjoyed it!
Yours is great if you have a patio very pretty but wouldn't work in my apt. If 8 had a porch big enough I'd do it like that
Tinamarie Ussery Thanks for your feedback!
Looks Great Ed!
Very nice looking mini pond hope you show more video like this
HOUSE OF CICHLIDS Will do!
I watched tanners video I’d say his land scape is better and your aquascape is better I love it such a good and positive community
Thanks for your feedback and watching!!!
From a design standpoint it came out great. My only issue would be that you just about have to climb over the log to look down to see the fish. If there was some way to put it on top of something to where is more at eye level to where you could appreciate it but then it might be hard to incorporate that big log in there. All in all though, I like it!
🤔I bet it would look really cool if there was a way to put it on top of one of your stacked slate walls and then the log would fit alongside it in some way!
Linda Leslie Thanks for your feedback and ideas Linda, my setup was indoors as an example, it could easily be setup at a different level to view any animals in the pond.
Ed is sooo amazing
LUNCHBOX 37 Thanks for your support!
Good evening Ed hope your having an amazing weekend. Im so happy to see that your doing well and healthy thru these crazy times. Very scary. Omg this bowl system you created is absolutely amazing. Im in love. Their perfect for small places and people that live in condos or appartments that dont have a back yard that only have balconies. Now everyone can enjoy a waterfeature and have a relaxing experience at home. This is an awsome product that you guys have created. I will definitely recommend this product to our customers and i know they will love this. People have been asking us to make decorative pots for them for years after people saw our little pond off my front staircase and have just added a little solar fountain to go in. This is perfect they can have a total package minus the plants and very lightweight. Love this will definitely be recommending this. Is this available on the aquascape website already? Will have to order one for sure for my girlfriend and myself. I would put this inside my house for sure. Their is nothing better than the sound of water to relax you. Great job Ed and i remember watching the vlog and beeing blown away at the set up of his basement and the excitement in your eyes when you saw it. Very knowledgeable young man aswell. Great to see to great minds coming together and creating this awsome little system that anyone can own. Great job. Please stay safe thru this pandemic and i hope it passes soon so we can all get back to our passion and projects for this year. Have an amazing day and ill see you next video like always.
Crystal Hurb Thanks again for your support Crystal!
I’m looking forward to doing more Clogs like this and upcoming collaborations with Tanner!
Hi Ed,. I believe Tanner won the build for an indoor style design, wear as yours showcases more for outdoor use. I bet Rachel wewd make hers into a carnivorous bowl...but ???,
Love the looks of this system though. 👍👍👍
Thanks Ed.
Robert Forrest Thanks for your feedback!
I like Tanners!!!
He’s incredibly talented!
@@edbeaulieu5916 YES he is, very much so...I love the options this unit has .....So Many Uses, I'd like to see a double unit together. Thanks Ed....hows the messy housing pond coming along?
I love the log you found, I personal would use the log behind Aquascape AquaGarden Mini Pond Kit even if the log has been prop up. The log has lots little hollows to plant small plants as well as Moss and Tillandsia's. I personal wouldn’t use fish-bone fern as it is an invasive weed in Australia. I don’t know what grade plastic is used to make the Aquascape AquaGarden Mini Pond Kit but I can see it used as a self cleaning cat watering pond just add cat mint and some fast moving fish.
Robert Roser Thanks for your feedback and ideas Robert!
Awesome... Can't decide I like them both
Christine Carignan Thanks Christine!
Nice Ed! That would be perfect for the new patio I can't install yet lol! Update I just watched Tanners channel and saw his build and man he did an awesome job! I think yours would be perfect for a Patio for sure!
Shawn Baker Thanks Shawn!
Wow that must be new product it even smaller
Wow I've really enjoyed watching you decorate your mini pond. I would of bought more plants for the top
I have to give this one to Tanner. Great job guys
X I agree!
I loved both of them, serpadesign's is probably the way I will be doing for my small townhome, I would love to go with bigger one if i had the space, but since I live in a townhouse space is limited, one of these small pond kits like the one you show would be the perfect fit for my home, I love little neon fish or if enough room I would put a couple of fancy tail goldfish in it. Also I would like to thank you and serpadesign for doing a giveaway for one of these pond kits.
Colleen Garner Thanks for your support Colleen!
Please share any pics of your project, I’d love to see it!
very cool I like that you also did a build up around the pond =)
I watched the pond video while ago... I didn’t know you had a UA-cam channel. I just moved to a house with a small pond... just subscribed your channel and see if I could find good idea!
Awesome project Ed and Tanner. Ed, Ive been thinking about a using a similar setup for a turtle tub. I'm going to try to mimic your bog filters but obviously much smaller. I've watched through your's, Greg's, Aquascape's, everyone's videos, I've seen you guys do it so many times and I'm hoping mine turns out as good as all of yours!
Joshua Roberts good luck!
Joshua Roberts Please post some pics and thanks for your support!
I've watched both videos and the individuality you've both put into your designs is inspiring. I'd love to have something like that in my home but as I don't have a garden Tanner's would be more suitable. Such a shame as that driftwood is a feature on its own.
carmel wilcox Thanks for your feedback Carmel!
I like both but since Tanner's is completely maintained within the kit I vote Tanner as the winner. :)
Sean Young I agree!
He did an incredible job!
lovely set up!
Adelso Garcia Thanks!
Such a cool product!
James Crowley The best!!!
That looks awesome!!! I would love one of those since I cant have a full pond living where I do. Unfortunately I do not use Instagram =(
Nice. Would love that in my yard or my front porch.
Donna Barden It’s a perfect fit!
btw both yours and Tanner of @SerpaDesign project are great! 2 different scale and approach both amazing!
Looks very nice! In terms of maintenance how often do you have to clean the filter and do water changes if you plan to introduce live fish inside? Would you classify this as an aquaponics project?
I absolutely love Ed and Tanner!! Awesome job guys and keep up the great and amazing work!! Love the creativity!! I would love to win!!
Amanda Mandigo Thanks for your support Amanda and good luck!
@@edbeaulieu5916 your very welcome!! No problem. Thank you as well.
Hi, amazing. How do you manage algae in a pond like this? I have a moss garden Japanese theme but it was over run by algae. Did have flowing water fountain. Thanks and thanks for this video!
Was sent by Mr. Serpa, and really like your vision. You have a new subscriber!
it looks awesome i just hope you have luck with the aquatic plants especially the monte carlo plant as it requires high lighting. otherwise great setup!
Wow! Love it! Have been creating terrariums and dish garden.
Will it reach the Philippines? Hehheheh!
I hooe this can be made more afforsable as it is a great product.
Thanks!
Great video! Just awesome. I'd love one of these on my plastic pond...
Kyle Murphy It would be a great combination!
@@edbeaulieu5916 You're 100% right.... My pond is a budget build. I'm not done w it yet. I have a fern and 2 day lillies planted in. DIY filter with filter pod and lava rock. All stuff I had laying around. In the filter and water fall. I'm growing sugar snap peas. I love your videos... Ps Happy Easter
really good but i prefer serpa's!
Fernando Darko Me too!
Sherpa WINS
Great idea! will be perfect for all of us that own an apartment
tom rabin I agree!
Thanks for your support!
So how u do clean the filter?
Love it 😷🧤😍
New Sub, sent here by Tanner.
You both did AMAZING work, and both are unique set ups.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow both legend at the same time but came here first but will straight head towards @serpadesign next
Praney Basnett Awesome!
Thankyou sir
Very nice!
April Furcean Thanks April!
Wonder how box turtles would like that in their pen.
Travis Duarte All animals need water, could be a great combination!
What’s the best fish for something like this
Never bury the rhizome of java fern. They are epiphytic and the rhizome will rot if buried in substrate. Instead they can be zip tied, tied with cotton thread or crazy glued with gorilla gel to drift wood or rocks and placed where you want them in your set up. So long as the rhizome is in the water the plant will grow new leaves and send out rootlets to anchor them to the wood or stone they are attached to.
Pup314 Thanks for the tip!
Loved it
Serpa, BUT YOURS IS GREAT!
Alec Montalvo I like Serpas too!
It is very nice very impressive I like it
Very Nice Ed. I am NOT a person to say who's Mini Pond is better LOVE them both. Is this the same son you. Did a high school project with who is no longer in high school.
Dennis Feldmann Thanks for your support Dennis & yes!
Great memory!!!
did you choose to turn off the led light? I think that might be a good option.
is the hq indoor pond done?
I heard the pump sucked up peoples fish how can we prevent that from happening?
Lovely!
Shelly Lyons Cline Thanks Shelly!
im here!! because @serpadesign 😍😍😍👍🏽
How do I clean/maintain it with gold fish in it?
Nice result. If I put a goldfish in there, do I have to use extra filtration? How often must the water be changed?
Joan Greer No,
A goldfish or even several would do great in this system!
If it’s indoors I’d recommend a partial water change 1x/6months
If it’s outdoors the rain will take care of it for you
Visiting from Serpadesigns! Good competition
Thanks for your support!
Hi Ed, happy to tell you the pond is a good product. Sorry to tell you, Tanner beat you by miles in his design. Never mind, all about business. Advertise well and you love your job.
Solar power pump would be awesome
Agreed!!!
