Been getting requests on this one for awhile now. Didn't plan on making one anytime soon, but I found the planter pot! I hope you all enjoy this one! Let me know what you think. I can't wait to get the rice fish into their new home. 😄
I can’t believe all the beautiful things u come up with! So talented. I never could have imagined it would look like that in the end. U always surprise me 😳
Don't normally comment on UA-cam videos but felt the need to for this one. You have always been an artist and all of your scapes are amazing...but this one is next level. Incredible stuff. I wish I could replicate it exactly.
Lol this is my third time watching it. :) I don't have lots of extra cash, so once every month this whole summer i've been working on my own version of this.
That’s fantastic. You really are clever. It’s simple design can be for outdoor use too, on a patio for example. Certainly food for thought for next spring here in the U.K. kind regards as always Tanner. Bye.
This is amazing! I never knew something so elaborate-looking was even possible for a simple patio pond! I'm just finally getting started on my own patio pond project so the timing of this video couldn't be more perfect :)
Just discovered your videos as I’ve been researching waterscapes. They’re great! Question: can this setup be placed outside on an actual patio? I’m in Southern California so temp rarely drops below 60F - maybe to the 50s a month out of the year. Highs up to mid-high 90s in summer. Anyway, love how informative your videos are. Almost calming even! Appreciate that you don’t ramble and talk just to fill up airtime. Keep up the awesome work.
Awsome art! But I have one question. What if after you add fish and then suddenly insects invade plants. You can't use Insecticides right? Will you move your fish in a different tank for a while?
Idk which video I stocked it in, but if you check my latest animal room tour you can see it as of a few weeks back with the fish. ua-cam.com/video/ddszLCaKpsI/v-deo.html
dude this is awesome.. the only bad thing about this video is that i have to wait another week for the next one :D but as always it's a nice way to spend the saturday afternoon relaxing with one of your videos in the inbox..
@@SerpaDesign no worries dude! quality over quantity! i would never want you to feel pressured in releasing more often but rush things and make less quality videos or even worse: that you would loose having fun with doing what you do.. in the end this hobby and the videos about this hobby should be a way to relax.. have an awesome weekend and a great time tanner!
This is a beautiful FAVORITE!!! Very inspiring and looks doable. I hope to be able to do this as a winter project...can't wait to see it with fish added! 🐟🐟🐟👏
Huh, I was ahead of you this time on this. I built my own patio pond this past summer in the same pot no less lol. I did large gravel in the bottom to distribute weight, a layer of miracle gro organic potting soil in the middle, planted water irises and dwarf cattails, and topped it with a layer of decorative pea gravel. I have no electrical going to the outside so I aerate the water with a mini solar powered floating fountain. I also stocked it with about a dozen rosy red minnows and a handful of nerite snails. The water stays clear enough you can see the bottom and the live plants keep the water filtered so I dont have to rig a solar pump to it. It's simple but it works.
It might not be what your into, or it might be, but I would love to see you design a tank for an axolotl. Seeing as usually there isn’t much to put in with one.
HI!! I absolutely loved this project! I have a couple of questions though... what is the total cost of the project? Also, where do I get all those plants at a good cost here in the US?
The larger aroid plants can be found locally in most states, as Aroids have a huge community of collectors. Both used here can also be found in small nurseries and even big box store nurseries. The smaller aquatic plants, are more specialized but can many times be found in small aquarium specialist stores. The spagnum moss, is used a lot in reptile care supply locations.
Man you are an incredible nature artist! I ll start to make terrariums because of you!. You Have great ideas and goods techniques. Thanks for inspired people. Big hi from chile dude 🇨🇱
Good job man. Like your Artwork. May you please make video about repairing projects. How to care about project. What to do after 1,2,3,5,8,12 mounts. . . to project stay cool in future. Thanks you
Can you make a 125gal bioactive terrarium? Possibly a closed terrarium with a small group of animals that would naturally be it's own food chain system?!!!!!!!!!
You should cut out a square towards the bottom of the bucket and have clear glass covering it it would look sick and if you put fish you would be able for then to swim and see the plants
The channel redesign is looking amazing, so is the intro! This planter looks so natural and is just overall unique and beautiful, keep up the great work, Tanner
Did you plant that Ludwigia in the soil? It's a hard plant to get established here (in Europe) in a tank as far as i hear from people. Planting it might be the clue. Doesn't look like you have excessive water temp or lighting levels
This is so beautiful Tanner! This has definitely given me some ideas for my patio this coming late spring. I think I will start with simpler fish though LOL. Maybe a couple of goldfish. But I am definitely inspired!!!
Goldfish wouldn't fit in a tank this size. You need at least 40 gallons for them to survive and life healthy lives. Maybe look into smaller, less messy schooling fish like guppy's or tetras.
The rice fish are very common in Japan. They are easy to care for and don't require a filter to survive. A few of those in a tub like this would be fine
I was actually planning to make a pond in a very similar container, also with medaka! So glad this video came out now, great timing. Lots of inspiration.

It looks amazing Tanner! Can you hear the pump when it is running? Do you need to run it constantly for the health of the pond?
No you can't hear it and I let it run all the time.
Where do you get your plants from?
This is just GORGEOUS!! You are so talented!! Thank you for sharing this with us. 👍💗👍

A rare Pete Strouse has been spotted!
Wow, I never knew patio ponds could look....good.
😂
It's so good it needs a podium, to raise it up higher and get a better view. Especially once the fish are added.
I dnt think theres any one that can do such a neat beautiful setup like you do, pls do more vids, i keep waiting to see wn u added a video
Hollywood needs you. Not CGI. Well done, well spoken. Nice.
This is by far the most amazing patio pond I've seen before. Definitely gonna come back to this video for inspiration when I get around to making one.
Thank you so much! Good luck on your future build.
Kayla I am dissapointed with you.
its been months and you havent come back yet
Please comeback Kayla.. We need you

I would have said the EXACT same thing!
This might be one of your favourite builds ever
Your videos are the best and are so interesting because you give so much detail.
you love the exact right plants for my taste :)
this one is wonderful. Especially the last details with the twigs did a great change on the look. You are really talented!
You make it look so easy!! Lol beautiful
I really love this
Beautiful
Nice work Tanner, your channel and MD Fish Tanks are two of the best for inspiration on builds out there, keep up the good work, peace

Incredible! A combo of know-how and artistic ability. I would love to have something like that at my house!
I have an amazon cart full of everything to make this patio pond. I'm going to make it for my Mom. Thank you again for the inspiration!

Loved your take on this beautiful thing. thanks man.

Awesome patio pond. Really loved this build.
You’re a true artist, dude!
Love the houseplants you selected!
What a beautiful design - I need this in my life! A patio pond is going to be my next project; thanks for the inspiration!
dude, i love this. i love you. youre so amazing
Did one today for two of my gold fish
I feel like a beta fish would love this
@TCB no they like tanks. People habitually put them in habitats too small for them.
Very nice
Genius! Gorgeous!
This has to be the best one I’ve seen. Omg
This is stunning !!!
Really nice!

U should add some fish to some of these scapes
Should of watched until end
I love this! you are so inspiring! thank you :) I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year.
Btw Tanner can i request a turtle aquarium? Probably a pink belly or a snakehead turtle thank you...
Probably doing something with musk turtle at some point in the future.

i like history haha
and thanks for the idea of my next project =)
Where did you get all your plants you used in this video? Can you do a follow up video after putting in some fishes and sponge filter in the pond.
Awsome art! But I have one question. What if after you add fish and then suddenly insects invade plants. You can't use Insecticides right? Will you move your fish in a different tank for a while?
👍👍
Did the pond end up not faring well? I cant seem to find the promised video where you said youd add in some rice fish.

How did those houseplants hold up in this setup? I’m creating something similar and am trying to decide what houseplants I want to use.
7th commenter love your video
Looks beautiful but wate flow not much visible.
Is there any way to heat this guy up during winter?
the list of plants above most are not used and some you use in the video are not listed ?
Is homedepot foam safe for builds like this? Safe for fish once cure? Pond foam i gotta order online but going to homedepot is easier
Finally the patio pond yay , Remember i requested this before you could move to your new place ! Great
I know! I commented back to one of your old comments. 😉
