Interesting video! In which format are exported the sonar logs?
Really helped me out. Thank you. I have 3 years of trails showing. Every circle from throwing the kids off the tube and everything. Now o think I cab figure out how to delete them. Do you know of there is an option to just select them all to delete at once?
Hi. I have just bought a boat with a Hook Reveal 7. I would like to use this unit to mark and find fishing spots, so what I need to see is marking a good fishing spot and then navigating to it. Also how to change the fishing arcs to fish symbols. Cheers.
awesome video, great infromation! just wondering if the navionics work the same in saltwater?
Yes it would
Great info. Would be nice to win one.
Can this unit be used with a point one gps puck??
How can I use this GPS feature my unit is lowrance reveal hook 2 sxs. So I can travel on the lakes without getting lost once I launch my boat at the ramp. I don't have the mapping card.
does it come with a Lowrance map? Mine is completely blank with the arrow in the middle.
One thing I notice on the gen1 Hook series is processing power. While I would like to set my "Heading" to Course vs North, the reloading of the maps when set to Course delays too long when boating at high speed. This delay in processing/drawing can cost you if there are structure or low water spots. With the North settings there is no delay. I would assume with the high-end models like Carbon or HDS there are no issues. Do you know if the processing has increase for the Reveal series say compared to the gen1 Hooks? As always, great video! 👍
The Reveal would be similar to the original Hook units in processing speed. However I've never come across the issue of outrunning the map on a Hook Reveal
So I delete the selected trails and then purge on my unit also delete the trails on my lowrance app on my phone. Next time it fires up automatically syncs and boom all the trails are back that I don't want. How do I fix this? It's eating up space for me to record new stuff.
I think routes are great for night fishing. It would be nice to see info on that.
That is true!
My unit does not display the north and west coordinates. How do I show that?
I have a reveal 7xss and it isn’t working. I’m not sure if you have time or know how to help me but I have been trying to figure this out all day
Isn't working as a pretty broad term so you'd have to narrow it down a bit. If it's the sonar that's not working. Take a look at my channel as I have a video. I believe it's called " No depth reading on a sonar"
Without any card, should my gps still show something? I just get a white screen with the little arrow in the middle.
Me too, did u just buy a Navionic card and insert it?
@Paul Cane nope. My model doesn't take a Navi card. I figured out that it was set on a zoom that was too far out so once I zoomed in I was able to see my contour lines. Only way to map out a body of water without the card is to navigate it.
So when my lowrance loads up I have no map at all just a white screen with the navigation arrow. Do I need to buy a card?
Most likely you'll need a card for your area. Depends which base map is preloaded
Is this compatible with active target?
No they are not. Only HDS Live, Elite FS and HDS Carbon
How to you power up your Hook reveal at home?
Power cable and 12v battery
My screen is only showing blank white with log/lat sguares
What map do you have? Which map came with the unit?
@@InDepthSonar i have the navonics east region. I did what i was supposed to do on the computer first. It is a hook reveal 7 tripple shot i believe it has genesis
😂😂
Seem like this things is a piece of crap! Hook 7 won’t scanning down … only show about one foot.. what I go wrong?? One thing I don’t have SD CARD .. don’t see any reason to have it?
Talking way to fast for someone who is learning for the first timer!!!!
You can always tap the screen on a mobile device to go back and rewatch. Its hard to not talk fast as there is so much to cover
