I'm in Sussex and would charge £90.00 all in for the toilet job. I'm not VAT registered. No to altering the pipework to the cistern. I do a lot of concealed toilet jobs and it's very rare that I find the pipework clipped.
Superb video, superb content, full of tips to help us all out. I’ve never had to repair a toilet like that, that’s enclosed I’ve fitted one but it’s just the standard close coupled and others that I’ve fixed. It’s great to see how it’s done. Reg the pipework I prob would have thought about doing it a bit tidier as it would have bugged me being loose like that but in the end I would have left it as it is. It’s not old or corroded and that speed fit elbow looks ok. Like yourself I would have changed all the toilet innards. That flomaster flush pipe from screwfix is brilliant say its about £15 and fill valve £15 there’s £30 already plus fuel depending if they’re local or not so you could be talking another £10 for fuel and I’d have charged prob £50 for labour so approx £80 to £90 if I’m honest. I know I’m always ripping myself off so maybe I will watch your video on pricing. Great to know from the comments what other plumbers charge as it gives me a baseline . Thanks Luke
Great video as usual bud, I prefer the brass shanks compared to the plastic one's all day. You completed the job that was originally requested problem sorted so don't worry about the pipe work it's like for like it's not leaking and it's out of sight (if it's not broke don't fix it). when I first started out I was charging £80 with materials but wasn't making any money really for the job, didn't really have any over head charges and was happy to be working... I increased it and I am glad to know that my pricing is more inline with the comments on here which has helped me to know I'm not ripping anyone off especially myself. Thank you for suggesting to share average charge and thank you to anyone who commented to confirm what they charge for this job much appreciated. Brilliant tip of how to re-hang the radiator that was originally there so it's inline with the existing valves, I remember this from one of your previous video and had the chance to use it a good few times now work's like a charm. I'm glad that loose valve didn't pop off on yah would have been a nightmare. Ace Video as always thanks again for taking the time to make them. 👊🏾
Really glad the tip with the radiator has helped mate 👍 yeah I think the more we share as tradesman the better, end of day there’s plenty of work out there and like you said we all know we are about the same price which was good to see, a few under that might help them being there price up and get business more money 👍
You're good on that toilet work, The inlet pipe was how you found it, and it wasn't the issue so return as is. As you had it, it was party to putting things back and a little pipe to make it up was no biggie. You was there to solve the issue, which was the flush valve, and it was economical to the customer to have a kit, sometimes cheaper than individual parts, replace both, for the long run. I would go for £100-£120, including the kit. If it was a case that the cistern was exposed, and the customer said if you could nice up the pipework to it because he or she didn't like it as it was, then that's an additional job,
What I would of done with the cistern especially as you had to take it off because of no access to the internals , I would of powered it down and cut the the flush pipe. That way who ever goes to it next will be easier to remove the flush valve and fill valve. As for the pipework I'm in 2 minds I probably would of stuck a clip on it especially as I had disturbed it and really for peace of mind. But then that's me 🤷♂️ Great work as always 👏
Thanks mate. I don’t know if you would of been able to enough off flush pipe and lowered to get them out but it wasn’t too bad to get it out to be honest 👍
Why didn't you just flip the flue terminal end around 180 deg so that it was facing upwards? It would've prevented the fumes from firing at next doors window as well.
Back to jobbing in this episode would love your feedback on the toilet job, any questions or comments drop them below…thanks for the support…so close to 10k now don’t forget to make sure your subscribed 😁🙌👍
Good vid again. I think you were being a hard on yourself with the flue install originally. Worcester state that standard horizontal flues can be installed level because the fall is built in. 3 degree rise is only needed with extensions. That said, they do tend to drip sometimes but you can always unclip the end and rotate it so it points upwards to stop drips. But good decision to alter it anyway, goes down well with the customer.
Probably would of used a angled pushfit 1/2" connector and put a bend on the copper just to straighten it up but like you say not being paid for that. Would of been at £120 for labour and materials
Would have absolutely left the pipes as they were unless they asked me to change them in the first place. I would have charged £120 plus materials for that job👍🏼 also on the worcester flues you can flip the end piece to face up at 45 degrees that can stop the dripping 👊🏼
Yeah i agree. My minimum charge is now £95 which is still quite cheap but ive had people state “they will not pay more than £50 for a small job”…..well jog on then🤣🤣🤷🏼♂️
@@russellbaldry5095 yeah you don’t want them type of customers anyway, found I lost a small amount of customers when I put mine up but got rid of the tyre kickers
I would've spoken with the customer about the feed pipe if it was mains pressure to cover myself or to upsell the job. Probably totally ignored it otherwise.
Personally I wouldn’t mention the Pipework , not part of the job , main thing is to get toilet up and running Based in NE of Scotland £75 an hour for Labour Roughly £40 for materials
I would have left the pipework as it was. Absolutely no need to change it. I would have charged £80 + materials for the job. Based in the northwest fyi
The pipes didn’t need changing so leave them well alone. If I was you I’d have charged £500 plus VAT and told them that’s how much you have to pay to get world famous plumbers off the UA-cam to fix your toilet. Keep up the good work. #yamyam
I can't say anything about the price as I'm not a plumber by trade, but the pipework is just fine as it it. I wouldn't have personally fitted it like that in the first place but your job was to "fix the toilet" and not repair other peoples lazy shit that they took absolutely zero pride in in the first place.

£120 was my price mate so spot on 👍
Great content mate, I won't have changed that pipework, I would have mentioned it and gave them the option. 80/120 for that job.
Thanks mate £120 we was on that 👍
It’s so good to see most people on here are about the same sort of pricing.
Yeah mate everyone seems to be around same point which is good to see 👍
Stick the link on for the expansion vessel pump please mate. I’d of charged £90 plus parts 👍

🙌👍
You could have disconnected the straight connector off the new fill valve and use the old angle one?
Had a look mate wouldn’t fit 👍
🔵🔵🔵Open and honest great video 🔵🔵🔵
Why would you do the toilet pipework any different? is it on show, does it leak? 100 supplied and fitted?
£120 we was total 👍

No window next door…it would have just pooled of water at bottom of flue if I hadn’t of adjusted angle
Hope you're doing well buddy, ive had a bit of a social media break for some headspace, but im back😊
Hopefully you'll smash 10k soon. 💪

Thanks mate, I would of thought it I just twisted end it would pool towards end? Either way like you said enough of a fall now 👍
Pipe work is fine not on show so not noticed
Out of site out of mind as they say nice video as usual
Thanks 🙌👍

Exact same price here mate 👍
How did you get majority of your customers after leaving employment mate? Was you quite busy with private jobs while you were still working there ?
Yeah mate then local Facebook groups and word of mouth 👍
OH MAN, I had that happen! I feel your pain mate. So many extra screws and sticks like shit to ensure it won't happen again lol.
Got some big bolts in there now been ok for now but on edge every time I take a corner 😂👍

Sometimes you get what you pay for. A decent plumber with principals tell the customer what is what and give them the choice.
120 plus the materials all day in wolverhampton for me mate
I would have charged about £100 /120 with materials. Pipe work could remain as it was as it isn’t bothering anyone. Top job Luke❤
Thanks mate we was £120 on this one 👍
He would have charged more but only used one hand
These prices plus or including vat?
I would say including mate looking at them
I would've spoken with the customer about the feed pipe if it was mains pressure to cover myself or to upsell the job. Probably totally ignored it otherwise.
Thanks mate appreciate it, yeah could of upselled there, especially in quieter months when we have time for the extra work 👍
Does it do what’s required of it? It isn’t necessary to add to a job. It’s hidden at the end of the day. The customer will say it was working fine
Exactly my thoughts mate 👍

500 quid? next time I'll ask an airline pilot to work on his day rate to fix my toilet he will probably charge less,,,
@@DocumentingReality-ol9es well that joke clearly went over your head
@@stephenharris5519 so did mine over your head...;)
World famous don’t know about that 😂😂👊 yeah pipes get left alone if they have been ok for years and customer happy then all good 👍👍

£120 + parts I would do
So if you charge £120.00 per hour that would be £960.00 per 8 hour day or £4,800 per week. Don't be silly a monkey could do most of what you do.
£120 total we was 👍👍
£110 plus materials
£120 with materials we was 👍
£120, bend on pipe with a clip.
Same price here 👍
I’m in Suffolk and usually charge £60.00/£70.00 for the first hour then £40.00/hr after but sounds like I’m out of touch! Any comments welcome! 👍
you are not out of touch, you are just being honest
Looks like £120 was average on this job mate 👍
@@bluebulldog_uk well I suppose if it went over the hour and with the supply of parts it wouldn’t be far off! Cheers!
No works other than what the customer is prepared to pay for , £100 plus bits. plus Vat
About same here mate on price 👍
