You can forgive the mistakes done to you. But, tolerating the wrong doing is a different story.

I think forgiveness is the hardest thing to do. However, you are right, you need to process everything and see what is best for you and your husband and kids. Love is a choice, as well as forgiveness. I just lift up everything to God to guide me and my family through the entire process of healing. I pray for wisdom that I decipher what I should do after processing everything properly. Thank you for the beautiful insights, Rica.

This is so true. To forgive and restore or to forgive and let go..the choice is in your hands. Also to forgive someone is not something we give to the concern just because they deserve it. It is for us to be set free...from anger, from bitterness and from pain. Thank you for this Ms.Rica! So much relate in this..

Just in time with what i'm going through about my relationship with someone who used to be close to me. It is true that sometimes forgiveness doesn't end up in a restored relationship. It is better to move on and take care of yourself and distance also yourself to those people that you are no longer comfortable to be with

Its a long process, its a time that we recognized ourself our own very self... Self love is important in a process, its hard but we keep moving to forget and forgive.,

Yup.

I believe forgiveness is the way toward success. If you think about biblical. The bible said. The devil is roaring like a lion seeking someone to devour. Do not let your marriage devour from the trap of the devil. Time to each other also is good for the husband and wife. Thank you Rica. Nice advice. May the Lord will bless you and keep you safe.

Great insight. I totally agree forgiveness is for our own sake, God's freedom from the detriment of betrayal. It also takes the power of the Holy Spirit and help of a healthy spiritual community who can come along side us, to sit with our pain just as the friends of Job did initially. Loving people who can also carry us through, in moments we can not carry ourselves and the grace to point out our areas of weaknesses. All are essential for us to heal whole and not broken. A tender bruise and wound can never heal well when its constantly being exposed to the inflictor or even unsterile environment. It has to be in a safe and healthy environment.
I will quote from Dr Henry Cloud: "First, forgiveness has to do with the past. Forgiveness is not holding something someone has done against you. It is letting it go. It only takes one to offer forgiveness.
Second, reconciliation has to do with the present. It occurs when the other person apologizes and accepts forgiveness. It takes two to reconcile.
Third, trust has to do with the future. It deals with both what you will risk happening again and what you will open yourself up to. A person must show through his actions that he is trustworthy before you trust him again.

Para sa akin, once is enough, twice is too much. If once pa lang, forgiveness and restoration siguro pero if many times na, ay, forgiveness and nothing else na.

Forgiving someone means you are also ready to be trusting that person again. If you cannot trust that person again, it is time to let go for everyone’s sanity.
