- Don Carr presents the Bogner La Grange Overdrive/Boost pedal. It's essentially a highly tweakable amp-in-a-box that nails the aggressive tones of late '60s British amp stacks. A standard set of controls starts the process for that famous "Brown Sound" while a row of mini-toggles further allow you to dial the La Grange into your ideal tone. A variable boost function is independently selectable to drive the pedal even harder.

I already have enough pedals to open a store but bought this one yesterday. If you already own a bunch of ods, Rats,ts9s, any of the hundreds of boutiques or have a good sounding Marshal its redundant. That said. I love the flexiblity. You can go from a lite ts9 push with some fur to full blown Marshal sizzling gain. I have a YJM 100 and matched the tone exactly so it does vintage 70s/80s VH, metal bands well.
As I said I have dozens of pedals to replicate any tone the Grange will do but the advantage is you have it all here. I use the Grange on a Fender deluxe as I can go from ZZ topish to early VH to the typical hair metal more smoothed out,liquid hair metal gain.Also use a very close sounding EXH Tortion for my more textured, blues stuff. The boost is also very strong and is more than enough to jump out during solos.

The boost on this pedal is by far the best volume boost I’ve ever heard. It’s all I really use this pedal for.
Man I'm willing to get this one. What is,your opinion about it aside the boost ?
My dream pedal would be THIS but where you could set it one way, hit a memory button to retain it, set the pedal another tone, set, and then have instead of a boost have a A-B to jump betreen settings.

Well, to be honest the tone is not really that good ^^ I have watched couple of different videos of this pedal and I can say that almost all of them sound very squished, overly compressed and harsh sometimes, especially at higher gain settings. I used to have a Bogner Blue and a Red pedal and sold them for the same reasons. I think this one also inherited the same old issues with the Bogner pedals. The only pedal I really liked from Bogner so far is the Burnley which is still on my board.
Hi there I love the Burnley from demos, I am concerned that it won't be too good for low volume playing in my apartment. Do you have ideas on that? I wouldn't looking around if this were not an issue, I am not as excited over La Grange. I got a very bright amp to work the Burnley on by the waY...
konnektlive agree the burnley is the best drive pedal they have, still have this one on my board right next to my friedman
Emre Emre it's great at any volume, enough gain for Heavy Metal and on, I play mostly Iron maiden and stuff, very amp-like distortion due to the transformer inside. Way better then the blue and red pedals. And if you have a very bright pedal the burnley is gonna love it, it it's a bit on the darker side of a pedal
just played and bought this pedal today. it's one of the best overdrives i've ever played. super versatile and i've been testing ODs for MONTHS to find one that i'm satisfied with. this video does not do it justice
Lol! I had a Burnley and sold it. I still have my Bogner Red pedal and love it. It has a ton of different tones in it. You need to tweak it with all the options it offers. It NOT a one trick pony pedal like the Burnley is. My biggest concern with the La Grange, is that everybody shows playing in their video the La Grange going into a "slightly" dirty clean channel, leading me to believe that it may not sounds all that great in a perfectly clean channel.
Who on earth puts boost after the amp emulation?!
Pan Damasque this is not an emulator. It's an od pedal, with analog gain stages

Anyone have this pedal? Would it be a good choice for non conservative church worship group settings? Powerchords/Solos?
Yes, I play one in church and hardly ever turn it off. Add volume pedal to it to adjust the gain between songs. Volume boost switch is awesome for solos and works even when the pedal is not engaged. LOVE this pedal.I play through a Fender Hot Rod.
