Heard this song for the first time nine years ago, when you were performing at 'De Doelen' in Rotterdam. It made the biggest impression on me. Last week, I returned to the same venue longing to hear it again live, for the second time. I brought my mother along, same as in 2015. Afterwards, we agreed to come visit you each Christmastime, because we can't imagine celebrating it together any better than in a festively lit up Rotterdam city centre, infused with your ethereal sounds. The fact that Michael and the choir (sorry) have a great sense of humor also helps.
Asalamalakium. You may have already seen this, but it's always beautiful to hear again; SubhanAllah. I listen to it before I sleep. All those people that may have never heard the beauty of the Adhan. Alhamdulillah for the wisdom of Al Jaami'.🤲🏼💗 ua-cam.com/video/YYztvysb7eo/v-deo.html
i love this song so much! it´s so beautiful, it's angels who are singing this beautiful and pure song about our beloved jerusalem, i feel that i'm in heaven, the sorrows will end soon when Jesus comeback because there will be no more pain, tears, etc!
@@anunachoir yes, that is true, i agree, why human beings keep distorting something that is really important? why do we still have to die because of religion? Christ alrealdy died for us in the cross, why we can't live in peace with religion? it hurts me to see many people dying because of religion, wars, and etc, there is so much darkness in this world that we live, i hope that one day this will end, i understand now why we suffer so much, it looks like something is missing, and this something is faith, we must have faith, i want to go to Jerusalem one day, to visist the land of my savior Jesus, i love Jesus with all my heart, one daay this suffering will end, we don't need wars, pain, suffering, murders and etc, what we need is Jesus he is our God!

Jerusalem, our happy home When shall we come to thee? When shall our sorrows have an end? Thy joys when shall we see? They see no one that sent her there Their palms spring from the ground No tongue can tell, no heart can think What joys do there abound Forever more the trees perfumed And ever more they spring And ever more the saints are glad And ever more they sing Fair Magdalene, she has less moan Likewise there she does sing The happy saints in harmony Through every street doth ring Fair Magdalene hath dried her tears She'll sing no more to thee Nor wet the ringlets of her hair To wash her savior's feet
The original text: Jerusalem, my happy home, When shall I come to thee? When shall my sorrows have an end? Thy joys when shall I see? O happy harbor of the saints! O sweet and pleasant soil! In thee no sorrow may be found, No grief, no care, no toil. In thee no sickness may be seen, No hurt, no ache, no sore; There is no death nor ugly devil, There is life for evermore. No dampish mist is seen in thee, No cold nor darksome night; There every soul shines as the sun; For God Himself gives light. There lust and lucre cannot dwell; There envy bears no sway; There is no hunger, heat, nor cold, But pleasure every way. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, God grant that I may see Thine endless joy, and of the same Partaker ay may be! Thy walls are made of precious stones, Thy bulwarks diamonds square; Thy gates are of right orient pearl; Exceeding rich and rare; Thy turrets and thy pinnacles With carbuncles do shine; Thy very streets are paved with gold, Surpassing clear and fine; Thy houses are of ivory, Thy windows crystal clear; Thy tiles are made of beaten gold- O God that I were there! Within thy gates nothing doth come That is not passing clean, No spider’s web, no dirt, no dust, No filth may there be seen. Aye, my sweet home, Jerusalem, Would God I were in thee: Would God my woes were at an end, Thy joys that I might see. Thy saints are crowned with glory great; They see God face to face; They triumph still, they still rejoice Most happy is their case. We that are here in banishment Continually do mourn: We sigh and sob, we weep and wail, Perpetually we groan. Our sweet is mixed with bitter gall, Our pleasure is but pain: Our joys scarce last the looking on, Our sorrows still remain. But there they live in such delight, Such pleasure and such play, As that to them a thousand years Doth seem as yesterday. Thy vineyards and thy orchards are Most beautiful and fair, Full furnished with trees and fruits, Most wonderful and rare. Thy gardens and thy gallant walks Continually are green: There grow such sweet and pleasant flowers As nowhere else are seen. There is nectar and ambrosia made, There is musk and civet sweet; There many a fair and dainty drug Is trodden under feet. There cinnamon, there sugar grows, Here nard and balm abound. What tongue can tell or heart conceive The joys that there are found? Quite through the streets with silver sound The flood of life doth flow, Upon whose banks on every side The wood of life doth grow. There trees for evermore bear fruit, And evermore do spring; There evermore the angels be, And evermore do sing. There David stands with harp in hand As master of the choir: Ten thousand times that man were blessed That might this music hear. Our Lady sings Magnificat With tune surpassing sweet, And all the virgins bear their part, Sitting at her feet. There Magdalen hath left her moan, And cheerfully doth sing With blessèd saints, whose harmony In every street doth ring. Jerusalem, my happy home, Would God I were in thee! Would God my woes were at an end Thy joys that I might see!

There are no words, at least in my language, that can adequately describe the pure, sheer, heart-wrenching beauty of this hymn.
Thank you.

Ethereal. Sounds like the Angels themselves singing.

Thank you. A strange venue, and I'd be reluctant to go back to it - but lovely staff and a wonderful audience.

So much pain associated with religion and the way human beings have distorted it. This song is about that too.

@Mike Manners I think you may be confusing your psalms. Psalm 122 is my favourite - and that is definitely not 122.
Every time I hear it, it makes want to cry. Amazing!
As beautiful today as the first time I heard you guys perform this. That's over 30 years now.

Good times. :D
I remember this episode! I always loved that song, and I think it was what initially got me hooked on Anúna. =)
one of my absute favourites of last wednesday's concert in Utrecht. spellbinding
It's called a canon =) And it is, very gorgeous!
I'm feeling like walking in a grand hall, echoes surrounded by a empty underground from the bottom. 🥰
the acoustics in this are amazing!
Jerusalem, our happy home
When shall we come to thee?
When shall our sorrows have an end?
Thy joys when shall we see?
They see no one that sent her there
Their palms spring from the ground
No tongue can tell, no heart can think
What joys do there abound
Forever more the trees perfumed
And ever more they spring
And ever more the saints are glad
And ever more they sing
Fair Magdalene, she has less moan
Likewise there she does sing
The happy saints in harmony
Through every street doth ring
Fair Magdalene hath dried her tears
She'll sing no more to thee
Nor wet the ringlets of her hair
To wash her savior's feet
Thank you
