Greetings from San Francisco Bay Area California!! My name is Eddie and I'm a father to two grown up daughters, so what I'm saying is that I just like one of your YT Channel fans for you to make sure that your Land Rover Defender PO is well lit inside at night and outside and all your windows totally blocked for your safety. No matter where you park overnight, never never put your guard down!! Hopefully Blue will bark if he needs to warn you. I just prayed 🙏 to God to bless you and keep you and guide you Maria and Blue. Wish you all the best and success happiness on your 50 states endeavor. Be well and most of all you both be safe Maria and Blue! 😊🙋♂️👍 Have a grand trip!!!
Maria Free suggestions - Get rid of that Mr Buddy Heater, over kill for your small space, Use a electric convection ceramic heater will give you plenty of heat with a thermostat. Handy heater is a good one. Your going to need more venting, rooftop vent with a fan and small 6 inch wall mount fans, 12 volt or 110. 4 years of van living experience. Happy Trails
A good way to pack your clothes for more room, is to roll each item. Then put tops on top of each other and so on. It’s really cool because they don’t wrinkle either. Give it a try. You may love the idea. Overtime you’ll get things the way you need them😊So glad to see you back. My go to videos 👍
I wouldn't feel comfortable in a parking lot or the woods with or without the interior fully illuminated without some type or blackout shades for the windows.
Wow Maria I can feel your excitment and your smile is contagious. Love that you are living your dream with your furry son. Can't wait to see more adventure of you and Blue. May God protect you everywhere you go.
I can't wait to get on the road again with you and blue hey what's up with the tire on your hood isn't that kind of distracting when you drive just curious I'm so short I probably won't be able to see over it Take care be safe
I can't really explain it, but there's just something so calming about your videos to me. Maybe it feels like I'm living vicariously through your positive energy and chill vibes. You make us feel like we're all on a long camping trip with you. Plus blue is adorable 💙 (btw: RAHmen)
Omg the moment with your mom made me get teary eyed!!! Literally such a sweet family, incredible friends and a wonderful adventurous community growing. Love the vlogs, love it here and adore you! Keep following your dreams and be as safe as you can along the way
I love how she just takes off she’s not perfecting her rig , she is just taking off that’s so relatable that’s how I’d be doing van life just add what I need as I go 👏👏👏💯‼️
Your dog was sitting in the front watching over and for you. Our dog used to do this(he passed years ago) when we took him with us on road trips. It was an awesome "piece of mind". Defenders looking dope .That Joel really knows those vehicles.
Definitely loving Poe...maybe add some upper storage baskets/pouches along the inside upper roof curves to give more storage options. Also a drop down table on a chain on the inside of the rear door for cooking outside and a added rear step bar to get in easier, but not so far out to bang your shin on, lol. Adventure on!!
I'm new to your channel and I want to tell you two things from the bottom of my heart. One, I have been really loving your videos and I'm excited for the trip. Two, it's rah-men. 😁
Watching you makes me want to do this. However, I’m 40, and a mother. My brother lives in a camper he built by hand. He live in Colorado for 2.5 years out of his old camper, then moved back to Michigan where he built his new one. He lives full time in it. Enjoy yourself, and living your dreams.
I really enjoyed seeing your Mom and Step-Dad sending you off with love and encouragement. With the amount of love and support you have, you can conquer the world. ... and how lucky are to share in your journey.
This may be the most joyous video I have seen from any UA-camr. Your excitement is tangible and I cannot be more happy for you! Here's to happy, healthy and safe adventures!
Welcome back to the road Girl! Packing cubes for clothes is an idea- clear plastic cubes for food to keep critters out. I’d invest in a small blower for the dog hair. Oh and contact paper around the sink. ❤ Blue is a cutie pie 🥰
"New fear unlocked" 😂😂😂 My wolfsky runssss when she hears the vacuum too. 🐺 Safe travels, and hope you make it to central Idaho. Come watch the Shoshone spear some salmon, kayak etc.
Just one question… Do you have a fire extinguisher handy? (I get super anxious when you light a fire in Poe! 🔥) You’ll get the organization of everything worked out over time. It’s amazing how quickly we can fill up our living spaces! Hugs to your mama as I’m sure she worries while you are away. She loves you so!
YAY! I've missed you & Blue SO much, wonderful to see that your back on the road! SO happy about the pesky electrical issues being fixed, what a big relief Thank you for the long video, 💙 it! Nice seeing mom she's going to really miss you. Those lights are cool!! BTW, you look fabulous in red! Welcome back😀!!
so many cool upgrades/accessories to add to your rig. wall & ceiling molly nets for more storage, roof rack shower tubes and even one of those batwing awnings that cover two sides
Hi, so happy to see you and Blue back on the road and so happy. Yes rolling your clothes will save space and help with wrinkles and actually will be easier to get get at what you need
Hey Maria congrats of everything you have accomplish with your your vehicle I am happy for you that you are back and the road plus I miss watching you and blue love your positive ways and videos I miss watching you enjoying what you love to do can't wait for your next video
I'm so glad that the electrical issues were fixed. I can feel your excitement thru the video. I was always told to save space in packing is to roll your clothes & towels. Now it's onward to new adventures! Give Blue a hug. Until next time stay safe.
Pretty impressive build Ms Maria👍🏻 Very good use of available space for sure Blue looked nervous while you were on the roof and please always be super careful when going up or down. In these parts we call them “ rah-men “ noodles 😂 Loved that lil but too👍🏻 Safe travels and take care🙏🏻😃
The unorganized packing was stressing me out, but the vacuuming was relaxing .... LOL. Congrats - you guys stay safe and have fun. (Charge your inReach Explorer so it's ready when you need it.)
Maria, So happy for you! I grew up in Michigan. Lived in a Souix Tipi in the woods before moving to Minneapolis. Planning some travel with my Akita dog and motorcycle/sidecar. I want my granddaughters to follow you!
A couple of things right off the bat (I'm only 4 mins into the video). That 4th cabinet you pointed out that you might put your electronics in, I would suggest relocating the hinge to the left so the cabinet door opens towards the fridge. Second, roll your clothes. I have been folding my shirts and then rolling them so they can be packed tight in a space, yet easy to see and pick which shirt I want. You can stack them horizontally or vertically just as easy.
I’m so proud of you!! Way to go!! Thank you for sharing this video. I really, really needed an emotional boost today and watching you smile from your feet to the tip of your head made me smile right along with you. My dad passed away during surgery and I have been so lost for the past two days. I’m almost 60 and I feel very much like a 5 year old missing my daddy. Keep rovering girl!! I’m going to be out there chasing my dream soon too.
Penny, you are in my thoughts... we lost dad last December so I'm right there with you, it never gets better we only learn how to cope, will say prayers for you
On UA-cam, you can find tons of videos that show how to fold everything into very small rolls. OMG! I can pack sooo much. If you use the vacuum bags, you have to reseal them every time you take something out of them. That becomes a pain. Plus, when you roll everything up individually, you can see what it is very easily. There's even videos on how to roll up an entire outfit. That makes it a no-brainer too. :)
Another Awesome video ! Love the lights ! The more time you spend in Poe, The more you will change things ! Wally World overnighter had to happen, but back at home in the woods now 👍 Love and Blessings to You and Yours 🤗🙏🐾 PS : Your Mums face when You were setting off ! Awwwwwwww !
Good to see your mailing faces! Try multi duffle bags in different colors. They pack they hang they squish. In or out of sight. Bungee them in place. They make good pillows. They wash when you do laundry. They hide stuff outta sight. I hang up a few shirts and jackets on hooks and in closets. Duffle are life! They have shoulder straps for help hauling when heavy. So exciting new sights! Rattle on!
Hi Maria, so glad to see that big smile back, it's called the "I'm on the road again" smile. Glad you have a jack in case of a flat but did you remember the lug wrench? Also just a tip, have a car 12vdc near the Jackery in case it's cloudy and the solar panel isn't putting enough, you have a backup option. Otherwise, enjoy and I know that awesome smile of yours will be there for us and others to see. Take care Maria and stay safe.
I can tell by your roof top carrier it has given you a lot more room inside to stretch out. Im glad Blue slept with you in the new set up. He is adjusting pretty well. Safe and happy travels
It's wonderful you have parents that encourage you to follow your dream even if they may not see you for a while. They raised a wise, intelligent, thoughtful, loving, quirky young'un. There could not possibly have a better dog for you than Blue. Safe travels Maria and thanks for taking us along with you. PS. RA-men noodles, Ra, like the ancient sun God.....here in the PNW.
Also, someone lied to you when they said that JetBoil stoves are only for water. I’ve had mine for 8+ years and cook whatever in it, and it still runs like a champ!
Can't believe I got that exact same set of lights for my van from a friend at Christmas .Anyway you and your pup have a great wonderful trip and enjoy your life.
I live in a truck topper, tiny space like you do. I would roll all your clothes and layer to save space. I store all my dry foods in one gallon ziplocks so that I can layer them flat to save space. Thing is you have to be very disciplined with organization if you in a tiny space and that way you know where everything is at at any give time. Minimalism helps. Also you could put lockable pelican style totes on your roof rack and rotate your seasonal clothes and gear yearly within it. That would give you a lot more living space inside not consumed with EVERYTHING you own that way. Divide and conquer!
the rig is looking really good so far. three suggestions... 1) Shed X dog supplements (daily liquid in food). They take about a month to start working, but really worked for ours. They actually make the coat/skin healthier too. 2) Traction boards/tracks (solid ones, not the folding style) They are lifesavers when getting stuck. They'll match the recovery jack, and look 'cool on the side of the rack' too lol. 3) This one is tricky, but a game changer. A roof exhaust fan. They dont pull all that much power either. Would be awesome on hot days, when cooking, running the heater, condensation, ect. The issue is your roof rack, and it does require making a hole. (sprinter vans have the hole as well) The work around would be to cut a square out of the rack above the hole, and frame it in like a picture frame for strength (easy job for a welder). Then lay a thin pad/pillow on it, and use it for pillow when chilling up there. haha. Or you could have it installed under the solar panel to take up zero roof space. Safe travels, :)
So thrilled and excited for you, Maria! Although I feel for your Mom. I remember how it feels when my daughter moved away for College. It was separation anxiety to the max for me. Please travel safely. Let me know when you head down to FL. Oh my kids used to love that stuff. It’s pronounced as rah-men. Trust me. I’m Asian (Filipino) 😂
First of all congratulations I love the new rig!!!! So excited for you. So I’m a fan of Raul and his gifts so if Raul is reading this get our girl a car tent. As for you sweet Maria so glad you make these videos it brightens my day. Your energy is just perfection. I’m not able to go camping as much since I got a autoimmune disorder but I can live my adventures through you. Love you and your content. I hope nothing but good things happen for you and blue ❤
If you roll your clothes and stand them upright it fits more and you can grab what to wear easlier without messing up all the other layers of clothes. It's well worth it! Enjoy your next adventure!
Instead of folding..try rolling up your clothes. You’ll get a lot more space & you can easily see what you’ve got without rifling through your stuff. It’s a neat & tidy organized look & that’s always satisfying. Try it!👌🏻
Yeah! Back on the road in the most awesome vehicle ❤ POE looks amazing inside and out, so excited to follow along on your amazing journeys! Glad you got the “Garmin in reach” and all of those spare parts just in case. Blessings for a safe trip 🙏💜🌎☮️🌎💜🙏🐾🐾
Someone has already said it but I will repeat it just in case 😆 rolling your clothes into little logs will save you an immense amount of space. All my clothes fit into one duffel bag and I have a good amount of clothing. I have eight t-shirts, a long sleeve sun shirt, five sets of base layers ranging from light-super heavyweight, I have twenty pairs of underwear, four sports bras, two regular bras, twelve pairs of ankle socks, eight pairs of wool socks, three pairs of ski socks, seven pairs of gym leggings, three pairs of jeans, a VERY thick knit sweater for dressing up, another dress shirt, a three piece set of fluffy pajamas and two pajama sets with shorts. I also have four tank tops, a pullover fleece, and a bulky carhartt sweatshirt. That seems like a lot of clothes to me and it all fits in one duffel! My ski pants and jacket go into another duffel with my three other pairs of shoes and that’s in my roof box with all my outdoor adventure gear like my fishing, hunting, camping, backpacking, bike touring, bikejoring, bushcraft, and rafting gear. Also it’s definitely a regional thing because the pronunciation of those noodles is “Raw-men”. It’s a Japanese dish originally and in the Japanese language the characters “あ=a” “か=ka” “た=ta” “さ=sa” “は=ha” “が=ga” “ば=ba” “な=na” “ま=ma” “や=ya” “ら=ra” all have an “aw” sound rather than an “ay” sound. Like “awful” instead of “acorn”.
Trick for ramen noodles: just boil the water and pour over noodles in the bowl and let sit for 5 minutes, add the seasoning and they're ready to eat. I do this every time now because I don't have a kitchen. Also helps noodles to cook faster if you break them up before pouring the boiling water. I just crunch them up inside the bag, easy peasy. ☮️❤️😎
Hey Maria, just got on to your vid. The Defenders are know for electrical issues as you are aware of now. Mostly ground issues because of the al. body with steel ground points , plus electricity which equals corrosion. Road salts, dirt, ect. corrodes the grounding points.Keep them clean and spray with a good silicone or other lube to fight off the corrosion . Cheers Babe, from B.C. Canada.
Congratulations on your new rig. Clothing tip… if you roll each item of clothing you can get way more items in your space and they won’t wrinkle near as bad!😀
Now being a Brit I love the old landy’s but one suggestion is to fit your jack to the ladder so you don’t have to worry about it hitting you on the head and it’s also easier to de mount when needed, good sturdy tow ropes (or snatch ropes for when you get stuck ) not saying you will but better safe than sorry, also at some time you may want to get a winch and pulley for getting you or others out of trouble and last of all go on a off-road course to learn how use all this equipment and what gears to use in which conditions, all the best sweetheart and keep safe.

I hadthe same idea!
I was just about to say that, till I saw your comment 👍🏾
Good idea. I roll almost all my clothes even at home (unless they are hanging), not just when traveling.
That’s a packing trip that works to make more room in my luggage, every time I travel.
@@JoeGoesOutsidesame here haha keeps the drawers organized nicely
I wouldn't feel comfortable in a parking lot or the woods with or without the interior fully illuminated without some type or blackout shades for the windows.

Welcome back to the road Girl! Packing cubes for clothes is an idea- clear plastic cubes for food to keep critters out. I’d invest in a small blower for the dog hair. Oh and contact paper around the sink.
❤ Blue is a cutie pie 🥰
Your parents are the sweetest 🥺
"New fear unlocked" 😂😂😂 My wolfsky runssss when she hears the vacuum too. 🐺 Safe travels, and hope you make it to central Idaho. Come watch the Shoshone spear some salmon, kayak etc.
Just one question… Do you have a fire extinguisher handy? (I get super anxious when you light a fire in Poe! 🔥) You’ll get the organization of everything worked out over time. It’s amazing how quickly we can fill up our living spaces! Hugs to your mama as I’m sure she worries while you are away. She loves you so!
Yes I do! I just have to mount it still

Careful with the condensation inside. Overtime could cause mold.
You are adorable!

Can't believe I got that exact same set of lights for my van from a friend at Christmas .Anyway you and your pup have a great wonderful trip and enjoy your life.
You can get those vacuum section bags and don’t need a vacuum. I think a Ziploc makes some that you simply rolled the air out of in the state compact

Please travel safely. Let me know when you head down to FL. Oh my kids used to love that stuff. It’s pronounced as rah-men. Trust me. I’m Asian (Filipino) 😂
RR, you and blue are all set up now & Poe looking sweet with the Rambo green paint job! ✌️👊👍
You don’t have window covers for privacy. Is this an issue for you. It would be for me. Enjoy your adventure girl and stay safe
Try it!👌🏻
Great truck…great personality and sense of humor…equals great channel!
It is fun to see you living your dream!!! I am looking forward to your adventure!
From what I was taught those spicy noodles you cook them in the water then drain it and then add the flavor packages.
If you buy a furminator de-shedding brush for Blue, brush him out once a week and it will drastically reduce the amount of shed
Furminator brushes are the best!
I smiled when I saw your dog’s expression as you prepared to are your ramen. He was like, yeah-let’s eat!
Lawd girl! You are something else!!! I absolutely love ur sense of humor ❤ So happy for you and Blue! Stay safe out there!!
AWw now you're in my neck of the woods! Hope you love the Ozarks!
I'm very excited to experience your many adventures with you on this long road trip.
I love your attitude, very refreshing
I’d recommend sealing/waterproofing all the wood. Get some $1 dehumidifiers at Dollar Tree. Label storage/containers with a contents list.
