in my opinion, the first metric applies to everyone but the second is very particular to reyna or other non-dive duelist, but no one else. might be wrong about that but for other roles/subroles this "mission" that the metric sort of calculates is different. like a controller for the most part after smoking should just go trade, so a metric that takes into account pre-hit fights (that u shouldnt take, so minus points) and post-hit bodyguarding/trades (that u should take, so plus points) would make more sense. but then a sentinel would probably get a more complicated metric since your mission is to care for flank (either with util or positioning) and make the enemy team take precautions for a potential lurker (by lurking some rounds correctly), so the metric wont be about bodyguarding at all.
Honestly, it probably depends on the agent, if you main Clove bodyguarding can be fine since this concept usually works for rushes/ contact explodes and not slow and lurky plays. So by playing Clove you can risk dying since you can still smoke for the team. But for other controllers it is more important to stay alive until smokes are placed so you are usually third man into site (+timing wise you will be busy placing smokes). Third man's role is not only trading players in front, but also breaking util (leer/recon) if possible. But I think the main reason why hooj introduced this system is not just to teach good non-entry duelist playstyle, but more to teach being moderately aggressive, make student learn to trade and look at teammates and their pacing. So if you are low elo smoke player and you need some scoring system, I would suggest to look into your own mistakes, is it pacing of your smokes, are you too passive, do you fail following entry due to enemy's stall utility. And this criterion needs to be simple enough to execute from the start of the round. So main ones are smoke pacing, entry pacing. Additionally, you can change your scoring trigger to the moment spike is planted, since controllers after using their utils become duelists so you can prioritize fighting and getting traded (of course situational, but in correct valorant you usually want teammates with more utils stay alive longer)

My round/game win percentage is trash which is probably why I’m having such a hard time. Idk I’m just trying to finally get to my MMR and I’m willing to try anything at this point.
