The Blue Birds of Happiness are/were made in Durham, AR. Rita and Leo Ward were personal friends of my family. My mother, who was a porcelain artist, my aunt who made clay sculptures, and myself all made and sold artwork through their studio.. Leo died several years ago and sadly, Rita passed on Mother's Day of this year. Their children now own and run Terra Studios which is a local tourist/artists attraction.
Krickette Thank you for sharing that; I didn’t know. I have always loved the bluebirds of happiness and I treasure one that a dear dear neighbor gave to me.
@@marilyncull7541 Thank you for asking, but no. My mom passed in 2012 from cancer and my aunt is currently battling it. I mostly farm nowadays and have kinda shifted focus to refinishing furniture to keep my creative vibes going.
Just want to express appreciation for your daily videos. They are one of the bright spots of my day during the pandemic. It helps to view your “little bits of thrifting joy” everyday! Thank you from Baton Rouge!
Jocelyn, you are so considerate of your devoted fans. I really enjoy the voice overs. I find a lot of background noise distracting and I like to hear your choice thoughts. You do a great job!
Thank you for filling my quarantine days with life and fun! I have been fighting Covid for a month and I’m so glad I found you! I enjoy your trips so much thank you again!
I want to tell you that I think I prefer the voice overs. You seem calmer, you are able to give more information, there's no distraction of other conversations or noises.
Ha! I was at a savers today and there was a mom with a kid that was screaming his lungs out and running around the store throwing stuff on the floor and refusing to listen to her ! I really wanted to tell her to just pick up the kid and leave! Then the store intercom came on with a message to keep your kids in the cart , seated.... A few minutes later they were gone.
voice overs are always preferable to me when the noise level in the store is just whacky. Thanks so much for another great vlog and stay safe to you and yours!
yes i was going to say i prefer the voice over . I will never understand why some people subject their screaming children onto other people instead of taking that child out of the store and going home .
I can handle babies and I can handle children who are just having a rough day. This was a toddler who wasn’t getting her way over and over and over again. She would just scream until her parents gave in. And this was the second time they’d been there while I was filming.
If I need to get my shopping done I'm not going to let my screaming child win by taking them out of the shop!!! Their bad behaviour isn't going to stop me getting what I need and what I need to get done. I'm the adult and they won't dictate how my day goes. I give parents the look of support when I see their children crying as we have all been there rather than judging their parenting!
I have a Bluebirds of Happiness figurine. I just have one little guy though. The librarian at my middle school gave it to me as a goodbye gift on the last week of middle school when I was in the 8th grade. He said he just wanted to give me this little Bluebird of Happiness as present because I was always a happy person with a smile on my face every time he saw me and he wanted to wish me good luck with high school the following school year. That was back in 1997.
Me, too. I didn't go shopping for this! Parents need to remove their screaming children. If I ever did that (which I never did), my mother would have pulled me out of that store so fast my head would spin, plus get a smack when we got home and sent to my room. I guess parenting is different nowadays.
I absolutely loved that Santa portrait with the dowel. My husband collects everything Santa and that was unique. Would have been very interested. Especially if it’s still there and you decide to grab it.
My tree is tall as well but i buy christmas flower sprays i think you call them picks and just tuck them afound the front sides and back of the tree near the top as if there fanning out it sounds mad but it looks good. I love how your thrift shops sell christmas stuff all the time ours just get put on the shelves at the end of november .
Noooo, don’t skip the blue section, lol. I once found 2 beautiful L.E. Smith cobalt blue cake plates. I paid 4 dollars each and sold them for 75 each. Give the blue a chance 😁
My friends Mom always had a blue bird of happiness in her kitchen window and when ever I come across one I pick them up and smile. Yes I'm a cobalt girl but I just cannot resist a blue bird of happiness and all the fun memories tied to them. I like the voice overs sure I love when your shopping with company cause I love hearing the funny comments of who you are with but I do not mind the voice overs at all. :)
If your tree is too tall but you like tree toppers, you can always put the topper at the front of the tallest point. Of course this works best if your tree is in a corner. I love the Winnie the Pooh basket, adorable

Wicker needs water so it don't loosen and u can weave it to fix it more pliable then prices don't break off and dry up
