It never ceases to amaze me, Pennsylvania is the land of plenty for sourcing. Poppies are symbolic of remembrance, after WWI they were widely associated with Armistice Day (Nov. 11). Celebrating the end of war and later honoring the veterans of both WWI & WWII, you now know it as Veterans Day.
We use to celebrate it as Armistice's Day when I was growing up. They renamed it to Veterans Day in 1954.
Those chicken canisters at 11:00!!!! I wanted to cry when you left them lol
Same!
Me too. I gasped. Get it get it.
I hadn't noticed them but I see why you love them. They ARE very beautiful.
I know! I liked them too.
Me too
That piece of brown pottery with yellow letters that say "Macedonia" (10:37)it's a traditional pottery - baked clay, and it is still handmade in my country, North Macedonia, i bet you never heard of us but it was nice to see you hold something made here🇲🇰
I much prefer the voiceovers, I can hear you clearly and you have usually got more information on the pieces after you were in the store

I had an EXCELLENT DAY AT MY GOODWILL!!! I found 8...yes 8 pieces of depression glass......ALL ON ONE SHELF!! Pink serving tray, rare green goblet candy dish, 4 yellow bowl n platex2, blue topaz relish tray and a green tapered bowl
Red Poppies were the symbol of the losses during WWI. John Maccrae wrote a poem at the time that came to be a symbol as well.
The first verse goes right to it. Many porcelain items from the 1910's through to the mid 1930's had poppies. So many men were lost during that war.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
I notice that the girl name, Poppy is more popular over there.
I visited the Flanders fields, and yes, I think it was and has continued to be a symbol of remembrance...here in America, somewhere around Memorial Day, the American Legion or some other veterans organization sold small paper poppies to wear on Memorial Day...I remember buying one (they took donations) and wearing it to school...During my visit to Belgium I visited the memorial to John McCrae in a British cemetery, and once again read the poem displayed there ... very meaningful and thought-provoking.
"We will remember them."
@@jkalb1744 Maybe in England, not in Flanders.
Poppies are worn by everyone, no matter the age, in Canada 🍁
I like the voice overs. I know many complain. for me, the music is distracting and so are all the noises. You give great descriptions on the voice overs. Have a great day.
I agree. I mean this with much love it's just hard for people who are getting older with the noises everything Blends in together as one.
Me too, I prefer the voiceovers over screaming kids and loud music.
I love either, whichever the environment dictates. In the voice overs I notice how expressive her hand are, it’s adorable ❣️
@@VickieV1333 I definitely like the regular ones. It's just that weird static cover-up of the music I think. But not meant as mean in anyway I'm glad that we have her shows to watch🥰
She's Definitely Adorable💞 🦜💞
You have such a soft heart. I too often want to buy the "cute" and unwanted items at the thrift stores. My shelves are full of them.
Gurllll, when that finger get to scanning we KNOW you're about to find a treasure lol
I'm sorry if people disagree but I'm glad you leave the "made in China" stuff behind!! I couldn't agree more!!
I leave most China made dishes behind in thrift stores. But golly gosh! It is an ancient civilization and there must be incredible things to discover there!!!
I did just sell a Mao item, actually.
@@i.m.7710 good for you
@@michelledekker7654 I wonder if they have thrift stores in China? Items even from the 70s would be cool. If they allowed it to be taken out of the country. Old door knobs, ornamental wood, books, etc. The old beautiful buildings were knocked down for modern.
OMGoodness! I stopped at a thrift shop today and found a Dragonware creamer. I had no idea exactly what it was since I'm just starting, but for 0.99 I took a chance. Love your channel and the education it provides. I'm a single mom trying to make some extra to help pay for my daughters college.
Am I the only one to get excited by the discarded Starbucks coffee at 18:40?☕️☕️☕️
"...and see the dread fall on their faces." You're Funny!! Really, Really like Your vids, voiceovers, gw, thrift, comm. aid, etc. As You can see I am watching old ones and zooming towards current ones (I watch all the current day-to-day ones I can!!) Thanks for All of them!!🙂
I have the red rooster and his blue glass matching counterpart. My grandma had in her living room as long as I can remember. Now they are in my kitchen.
I adore amberina glass and my eyes nearly popped out of my head seeing the amberina rooster. I’m always amazed at your finds 😍
I love the way you talk while going through items. The sound of plates clinging, your trolley sound.... ASMR kind of style. Natural and spontaneous. but still ok with voice over.
I enjoyed your trip second time around. I’ve started to rewatch all of your videos.
The black dragonware teapot....OMG. I am jealous. What a great price for it too! Great score!
I also like your voiceovers. Honestly, I feel like you do it so well, I forget it’s a voiceover!
Glad you didn’t skip the blue aisle!
I thought I was the only one on the planet that loved scattered messy shelves? I could spend hours looking through “Clutter”!
Just love it when you do the finger wiggle as you're reaching for something.😄 So glad you got the dog & little bird. The birdie is easy to repair. Loved the basket & amberina rooster too. Also liked the colorful jars with roosters on them you passed up. You're much more polite than I am with waiting until the other person walks away. I usually just say "excuse me" as I do a boarder house reach across to pick up what I want. If its not actually in the person's hands its fair game.🤣
“Boarder house reach” ~ 1st time hearing that description.
@@auntie_kristie I used to hear it occasionally when I was very little. I think it refers to times like you see in old movies where someone has a boarding house that strangers rent rooms from but they all eat together. I think some of them were maybe a bit grabby at the table.😄
I totally agree about the Haeger!! I am also glad you got the chicken, I was yelling at you to get him, I guess you did hear me😂😂
I don't mind chips, that's how you know which side is the back! Great haul!
I LOVE the voice overs. It is so easy to hear your description of each item! Great finds today @ this Goodwill! You SCORED!👍
The notches on the ruby red glass and bakelite dish are to hold forks spoons.
oh wow, I really liked that! I was hoping she would pick it up.
The clear glass birds are likely princess house. From the 80's. Turn them over and they are turtles.
Funny! Thank you! I thought they were turtles before I saw they were birds and thought my mind was having a moment 😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much!
I was going to say Princess House too.
I remember when my mom had princess house parties and I seen them back in the late 70s.
Im in love with the dragon teapot!!
The Shadrak pottery piece was made by my husband's cousin here in AZ. They were sold at Dillards/Daytons during the late 1980's I believe.
I also had a friend who's husband's, sister owned the shadrack pottery co.
Ok, I have a thing for chickens 🐓!! I’m a big time chicken momma of 40 real life chickens. Also my kitchen is decorated 🐓 / 🍎 themed. It hurts my heart ❤️ a little bit every time you pass a chicken or apple thing. Lol I know your you mostly pick up older pieces but still... then I get get so excited when you pick something up!!
I LOVED those rooster jars!
My bestie came over last night, she's starting to buy for resale and WOW!didn't realize how on trend it is now..and the finds are amazing,What you do is so interesting, fun, learning a lot..Have a great day💐You have the best personality🎀
I think the voiceovers are better, too! You provide more info without the distraction of background noise. If I see something I like, how can I buy it from you?
Me too! I cringe every time I hear one thing get clanked against another.
No no no
Apparently it's also to avoid breeching any music copyrite rules from recording the shop music.
BTW - if you ever see Phaltzgraff in the Capistrano pattern in good shape, grab it. It's my sister's pattern, it was only made for a few years, and it was discontinued over 20 years ago.
The Wedgwood Eturia ware vase is a good find. The name of the pattern is "Queen's Ware". The pattern was in production for decades. An easy listing on eBay.
The glass bowl (3.⁵ inches approx) with the applied wire-look appears to be Partylite.
OMG! That color on the Haeger! Ahhh.....I would have kept it too! And the Wedgewood......yes, please! Fantastic shopping trip!
The two clear glass birds are from the 80’s and are lead crystal from Princess House. I have one from back in the day.
I just found your shopping videos. I immediately looked for that cherry painted bowl at your store before I realized that this was 9 months ago. I know whoever bought it admires it everyday.🍒💖
I think I have whiplash from the rooster 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🐓Glad you got it though!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The flying bird glass trinket dishes are vintage Princess House crystal pieces.
Probably everyone told you that a giant oversized lucite penguin sold on eBay for $99 and there's a small lucite penguin on skates for $25. I just found 2 small ones at an estate sale recently. Really fun!
I went to an estate sale yesterday. You would have gone crazy there! I got a Czech parrot small pitcher, an Art Deco glass powder jar, a hand painted poppy plate, and a couple other things. They had a Wallace Nutting painting, but it was gone when I got there.
That was a REALLY GOOD haul!!! I saw that exact moonstone dish today. That Haeger vase in the robin egg blue is BEAUTIFUL 💙💙
Amazing items in this video! I've become so interested in antique and vintage items because of you. I especially love the German and Bavaria pieces because I am half German The other half of me is English, therefore, I love the English items as well. Especially the incredibly beautiful chocolate pots and tea pots. I look forward to you videos each day.
At 19:41 if you took a photo of what is in that cart and framed it, it would make a beautiful wall hanging. Just lovely finds all in the one cart. 🐨❤
“different....but not really my thing.” That’s why ppl like you. ✌🏻👍🏻👊🏻
Also, I think the fruit bowl is a Cali USA piece....it’s the middle of chip ? platter. I sold mine (no platter) for $25 + shipping to someone in Cali. 😁
I just looked up the Wedgewood, online it was selling for 110.00... Great find !!!!
That natural colored canvas tote in the second purse section looked like a Real Nifty Vintage bag!
Oh my gosh, Dragonware in a Goodwill?!? And it's in perfect condition?!? I agree with you, there can never be too many chips in a Haegar piece! Great finds today!!
I rarely comment..but I love shopping with you..the dog you picked up made of fabric looked like it was home made ..There was a Butterick pattern out for this dog in the 70/80 when I was doing a lot of dressmaking ,it may have been Simplicity but I am more certain the other as I preferred their patterns..Another thing How to tell if a designer bag is genuine..The Zipper on the bag and all the fittings usually have the name stamped into the metal, even the internal zips have this on..In some bags lining is printed to but many use floral or plain ..Made in China ..most designer bags are made abroad it’s cheaper for them then they make more profit ..A lot have a printed or sewn label with details inside and these usually carry a serial number for the bag and you can check up on it ..I have a number in my collection a little weakness of mine..Some like shoes I like designer bags ..Also not all designer bags are leather ..Some of the dearest are only P U does not stop them charging £100s of pounds for them..I hope this helps you a little as it’s a shame to miss out on one when you can make a lot on EBay..That’s what funded my love of handbags lol..Have Hun 😀xx
The Haeger vase WOW what a find just sitting up there on the top shelf all alone! It seemed like every time your camera panned upwards there was another treasure waiting to be found. I wish my picks were like that! You are so lucky. Loved everything you bought today and yesterdays episode also. I hope you put the Haeger vase up for sale but if not I totally understand. :)
Oh, my, goodness, what treasure you have found today!!! 🇨🇦
my husband needs that sign at 21:16,,he always does that to everyone...lol
The Color of that Haeger vase.💗 And the Wedgwood vase in perfect condition and its color. I would keep them BOTH... Just sayin’. 😊
Today was scratch and dent day! I love it!
I hope you all make a lot of money. You spend so much time purchasing and selling. Your group is so knowledgeable.
Oh my word your charity shops are so much bigger in comparison to our shops in England,I enjoyed the video
Our goodwills around here never have all of the good things you find. You are lucky.
That Wedgewood piece is amazing!!! What a expensive piece that is Wedgewood is expensive. Great score!!!!!! Great finds as always!!
Envious. The local Goodwill stores implemented a policy (about 2 years ago, now) of sorting out the items that had designer labels, was any type of better costume jewelry, semi-precious or precious metals and gemstones jewelry, or were collectables pottery, glassware, etc. I can only assume those items are ending up in the online store. About a year ago the stores began displaying pottery, vases, etc. On shelves around the store walls and high, out of reach. So, yes. Feeling envious when I watch. ☹️
I love your videos. I am a faithful Goodwill shopper and have never seen so many great items in one Goodwill!! Mine doesn't have pieces like you find!!
Well Josalyn you're having such a good day of picking today !! Yeah, keep that pretty blue Hager vase for yourself; and now you know where the back of it goes. 🌝🐦🐦
Oh my! I loved the chicken jars!!!
Poppies are symbols of those who lost their lives in war. It began with the famous poem written by a Canadian physician and poet after the death of his friend in 1915, John McCrae. A poet who himself died in January 1918. The poem begins with the poppies that bloom in the fields where the dead have fallen.
"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row..."
In England Remembrance day is also called Poppy day and poppies are everywhere, crocheted by people and used as decoration on the cenotaphs commemorating the dead, or artists creating sculptural works using poppies, etc., and that is why we wear felt poppies in our lapels around Remembrance day.
Remember those who died to save us from tyranny and to prevent war from happening again. Too bad that last part hasn't worked so well.
That was a great shopping venture! Thanks.
Hiya Jocelyn love the dragonware teapot! You’re correct so much of it is damaged, it’s so delicate; I’d be terrified to ship it! Have a lovely day! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️
I love ❤️ fiesta ! That’s what I collect old and new. I love ❤️ watching you go from antiques to antiques! Makes me want to look 👀 and buy some stuff !!!
I think the glass round container wrapped in gold lines is a Party Light item. Similar to Pampered Chef or Avon. I went to a party and purchased mine in 1989 and still have it. My little glass container is wrapped in different shades of pink lines. I keep small hair clips, scissors, clippers etc in mine and still love it.
The round glass item with gold lines. I believe is Party LIght. It was a home candle company years ago. I have that exact candle holder.
Love this channel. Makes my day complete!
That Haeger vase is so pretty. And I really like the McCoy Floraline stuff. I love that green color and the matte finish. I love putting small plants in them. Height and interest!
We have the same picture frame. I loved it when I picked it up.
The clear bowl with the gold swirl around it is party lite
Love the soup cups! And I only need 2😊and the angel is adorable! You made my heart so happy by rescuing that chicken. There are so many ways you could patch him up!
You got some beautiful things today. Really awesome🤗 i hear you about the chips. I sometimes get things that are chipped i just turn it over.
Love your videos👍
Stay safe🌞
Omg, that Wedgwood vase is beautiful. I collect Wedgwood! What a great score! Hope you have it listed on eBay right now.
That shopping trip was phenomenal!! I loved everything you bought. I would have bought that Haeger vase too. 😜
Wow, some really great finds! I never see the larger pieces of Wedgwood in thrift stores, even damaged. And that rooster!
Heard eight of their stores closed in Sacramento! Said had the inventory, but not enough traffic. They might have whole warehouses ( again?) of " stuff" from our home stay"+ ignoring how much fun we' havin' guess could say!
Oh I would love that blue wedgewood vase....my color and my mom had one except hers was creamy white and green.
Always a pleasure seeing you there shopping! Seeing what’s in the store I work in is pretty cool. Now I know where the good stuff is going when I finally get to look. 😝😂
Thanks for all the thrifting videos! They help keep me sane during the pandemic. Love your channel and your style!
I love the chicken!! Teflon cookware and parrots are a dangerous combination too.
What you called a little candle stick was a sweet piece of Chippendale Glass .,., not very expensive but still cute and I collect it xx
You’re lucky, my goodwill (California) won’t sell item if price tag comes off- booooo! So many things I’ve fallen in love with only to be told, no tag, no sale! 😂😢
Poppies reflect WW1. I found this online - The poppy is the enduring symbol of remembrance of the First World War. It is strongly linked with Armistice Day (11 November), but the poppy's origin as a popular symbol of remembrance lies in the landscapes of the First World War. Poppies were a common sight, especially on the Western Front.
I wish my Goodwill had as much Pfaltzgraff as you're stores do. I was yelling to see the box on the bottom shelf full of the Yorktown pattern...love watching you
Lovely lime lamp shade!
That Italian bird looks like a Bitossi. I would have grabbed it too. Love your channel.
It is Bitossi. That break is tragic.
You are so blessed to have such great stuff at your Goodwill
I wish we had stores this big where I am.
The bitossi chick is quite a piece. The feather pattern is valuable. Can't find the chick as an example for restoration. It's a great style from the 50s.
I LOVE how you say......"Ta.....Day.....it's great.
The covered bowl with fruit is the center bowl for a lazy susan made by Lane & Co of Van Nuys Calif.
I like voice overs about the things you pick up or do not pick up as you do the video. It gives you a chance to explain some do’s and don’ts
Super finds!! Request: could you please migrate from butt basket to egg basket? For some reason all I think of is diaper changing when I hear it 🤪. Go figure. I love the voice overs, I learn so much more!
Hey lady...listen to your intuition...The name Pope-Gosser CHINA that you passed up is a 1920's vintage collectible China and I think there was a set on the shelf below...Love your channel!!!
My favorite Haeger color. Love it
21:29 I totally would've grabbed that sign "I am silently correcting your grammar" for myself. HAHA!
Also, how do you decide which chipped pieces to keep? Do you resell any pieces with small chips? There's nothing worse than not noticing those little 'doinks' until you get home.
I always wondered why also. I stay clear of chips.
I appreciate anyone who lacks entitlement and appreciates doinks:) Most folks expect antiques or vintage pieces in mint condition, and to get it free or maximum to pay a buck for them.
Is it possible to find an expert in small repairs like the vase she found or the plates she put back?
I lived in Japan for seven years. “Japan” is the English word for “Nippon”. Meaning, Nippon is how you say Japan in Japanese. It is pronounced “Neep Pone” - the “O” is a long vowel. Love your channel!
Enjoyed your voice over. Great video!
I never knew that!!!
