    I learned this great way to use ratchet straps when tying down an atv, side by side or dirt bike that won't leave scratches on your machines. This is so far the best way to tie down an atv in my opinion.

    Hi, I like the way that you wrap the strap around the hooks. I'll start using your method. Thanks 😊

  • @MRBIGEEful

    Neat trick on the wrap around hook for tie downs. If those straps are dedicated just for that ATV like I do I cut the excess off and only left two feet and burnt the ends so no fraying

    I my down exactly this way. I carried my 22 ZF800t in my toy hauler to Moab on April 14th. Just got back to Albuquerque today. I had no issues with "crawl". And believe me, it got some very road tests. Include off road. As a side note, the machine did everything I asked it to do. Had a blast.

    I use to the same. I notice that you had 4 anchors in front. what you could do is go thru the rim of the tire to attach the wheel instead. That will allow the machine to use her own suspension on rough road. You could do the same at the back if you can pull the tire straight backward. I suggest you try it. Or you could wait to see me in person on my next visit.
    Thanks for your video.

    I tie mine somewhat similar to how you do it also. They make short anchor straps to go around frame rails with loops on both ends and that's what I use when needed. The excess length I roll up and zip tie then use a spring clamp to secure it so the wind isn't whipping it around. Dry lube or silicone spray on the ratchet mechanisms keep them working freely. I know many think the tire anchors are the only way to go but I have never broke a strap or had one come loose in all my many years and miles of travel so I'm not changing now. If it ain't broke it don't need fixing lol.....

      Yes it's time to lube my ratchet straps. Keep doing it your way if it works. No problems here either.

    You did it all right. Also a lot of people always put the vehicle in gear, but I also heard that having it in neutral is best.

    I do something similar. I actually tie a small loop about 2-3 feet back from the hook on the long strap. Then you just put the strap around the bar or frame on the bike and hook the loop. Secure the other end to your truck/trailer and crank 'er down.

    • @wswerv1
      @wswerv1 Рік тому

      Thats the way I do it too. Also have dedicated tie down straps I keep in my pickup in a bag. That way I can cut the straps to a length that avoids the flapping long end.

    I strap mine down through the wheels that way the ATV suspension floats with the trailer. I leave mine in neutral and parking brake off. The excessive strap just roll it up in a loose loop about 6 inches in diameter then reach through the middle and pull the strap through and loop it around over top and pull tight. Bleepinjeep has a video that show you how to do it. Best way to get rid of excessive strap without any extra tie straps or bungee cords or whatever

    Which mirrors are you using and where did you get them? I tried putting mine on and they don't seem to fit the build in screw mount on the break fluid apparatus. Tried a few times and it just started shaving metal. Pretty sure mine are 8mm. Any recommendations for mirror install?

    • @FANATICALSIDERIDER
      @FANATICALSIDERIDER  2 роки тому +1

      Here in Canada we get many options that are different from the US. Because they are fitted to be street legal. They are cfmoto mirrors.

      @@FANATICALSIDERIDER yes you did. Should never be on frame. Over tire is best or over a-arm secondly . Suspension should never be compressed by straps. Also, no need for neutral, strapped properly, it won't hurt transmission. Not to mention, it would never hurt the transmission anyway.
