  • Luke checks out the latest product offered from Superclamp; their ATV / UTV Tie-Down Strap kit. It fastens around the tire and holds the unsprung part of your ATV or Side x Side confidently in place so there’s never any chance that the straps can come loose as the suspension compresses. The ATV UTV tie down strap kit comes with everything you need to secure one vehicle. 4 straps, 4 heavy duty ratchets with rubber coated handles, and a set of 4, four-inch-long deck hooks. Each 1.5-inch-wide strap has a working load limited of 1,300 lbs. When used with their Supertrac, you can easily adjust our anchor position forward and back for different vehicles you choose to haul.

    You can already do with the basically and standard ratchet strap
    Or you can get tire bonnets for pretty cheap and they have a 3 point system to prevent slip on the tire
    Both options work with standard 4 corner truck bed tire down anchor points too

    I use the tire bonnets on the front tires and the Supertrac straps on the back ones. Mine are the older version.

    using the Ericsson kit, works well for my side by side but I do like the super track and flexibility say if I wanted to load up a different buggy or tractor on the trailer.

    I use a similar system with just basic tires bonnets I got off Amazon. Securing by the tires is hands down the best method. I will say however, I still check my load every time I stop and just flick the straps. Stuff happens, and I wouldn't tell your viewers they don't need to periodically check their load. Awesome video as always guys!

    I'm amazed at how many people have no idea how to secure an ATV or SxS and don't seem to care. In the last month alone I've seen at least two different people driving on the highway with a SxS on a trailer with loose straps doing nothing to keep the machine in place. One of them only used one ratchet strap on the front end. I'm amazed we don't see more of them falling off.

      Just need to keep educating I guess. New riders might not be familiar with how to do some of this really important stuff.

    • @Dusdaddy
      @Dusdaddy Рік тому

      Because many attach the straps to the frame of the machine. As it bounces, the straps can loosen. Always attach as close to the center of the wheel as possible, like a big fat A-arm. And don't cross the straps!

  • @Kevin-gn8cz

    Would this work in the bed of a pickup with the mounts being forward of the wheel? Does the mount need to be beside the tire?

  • @nicksummerfield5408
    @nicksummerfield5408 Рік тому +1

    Could you all do a video of loading a atv in the bed of a pickup. What are some good cab savers, Rachet straps and best methods of doing this. There’s no good info out there. Would this method your mentioned work in a pickup bed if there are secured points to mount in the bed?

    • @Dusdaddy
      @Dusdaddy Рік тому

      You can do this if you want to drill holes in your bed but I wouldn't bother. Way too pricey.
      As for a cab saver, I use 4"x4" boards in front of ATV tires to keep it from hitting the front of the bed. If you have enough space, drop a 3/4" piece of plywood vertically in front of the quad.
      Use proper ramps and take the time to secure them to the truck. (search for videos to see why)
      Run straps from front/left suspension arm of quad to rear/left tiedown point in the truck bed, usually a welded loop on the bed. Always attach straps as close to the center of an ATV wheel as possible. Do not attach it to the frame or racks, too much movement will loosen straps.
      Don't cross straps from side to side, does more harm than good.

I will never buy anything from this company/manufacturer

    I would be concerned about how much pulling force (that would occur in an accident) that it would take for that supertrack to pull out of the deck boards.

    • @InsaneTreefrog
      @InsaneTreefrog Рік тому

      I agree. That's a lot of faith going into that deck board. Do the bolts go into the steel frame of the trailer, or just through the wood?

    • @Dusdaddy
      @Dusdaddy Рік тому

      If installed correctly, it's more than adequate. That "supertrack" is just L-track available from any cargo supply house. Used by cargo handlers world-wide, mostly aviation. It's what secures airline seats to the floor so they are strong. Installed correctly, and utilizing multi-stud attachments, it is stronger than E-track.

    No its not the safest possible way....Mac's makes a much better system. I use it for my XP Turbo. Way better design. The tire tie down has more holding coverage on the tire. I use e-track that semi trailers use to attach to the hauling trailer floor. Stronger system.

    • @Dusdaddy
      @Dusdaddy Рік тому

      Actually, E-track is not necessarily stronger. Truckers use E-track on walls but airlines use L-track for seats and pallets. Depends on how they are mounted. I prefer the L-track because it's smaller, won't rust, and doesn't collect mud underneath like E-track.
