Great video just got a general and now I know how to tie it down thanks
I use this system with a slight modification. I put axle straps with rash guards through the wheels and do a crisscross method with the straps. The front wheel gets locked down to the rear eye hook on the trailer same side and the rear wheels get locked down to the front eye hook on the trailer same side. We did a similar method with 3-wheelers and quads except we had to go around the axles. I have seen a few car tow companies use both this method in the video and my method. I have seen the same driver use both methods. But this is by far the best and safest way.
I’ve used the wheel chocks and over tire straps for years. Synching the wheels down is the only way to go.
This is a great video. Very informative and to the point! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and for your feedback! 👍🏼
Looks much easier than the track system Brian. I also noticed the locks on the hooks, that’s a good system. Thanks my friend.
Great information thanks it just great to see how different ideas make it safe to trailer SxS or Atvs.
Great job! Good information for the newbies! Nice Wolverine!
Thank you! 👍🏼
Good tips Brian!
Great advice 👍👍
I hauled 2 ATVs on a snowmobile trailer for several hours using this tie down method. Worked like a charm. Now I feel more confident hauling my ATV’s. Thanks for the video.
You bet, thanks for watching. 👍🏼
first time in a long time you have appeared ain my feed , good to see you again
Thank you for watching and reaching out, happy to have you back my friend! 👍🏼
Great method! I'm the same, I always attach to the tires. I use lasso straps over the top of the tires myself. Sometimes the wheels are just too damn to muddy to push a strap through....lol
Good information, thank you!
You bet, thanks for watching!
Thanks man, this was a really good video!

Good information I prefer the E track and straps over the tires myself for securement. Thanks for putting it out there that if you need to back on you have the wrong trailer so many people have the wrong trailers round me that it's scary to watch them go down the road. One other tip I'd like to share is don't use $5.00 hobo freight straps to secure your $30K units people spend a couple bucks on good straps !!
I just bought a new Mule Pro FXT a couple months ago and want to protect my investment. I have watched a bunch of videos on tying down a UTV. This by far is the best. Thanks for posting it!
Yes sir, happy to help and congrats on your new Mule PRO FXT, that’s a great machine!
I use this method to tie down my X3. I also use a Cordura wear sleeve around my strap that I slide thru the wheel to protect it from any sharp edges.
Good idea. 👍🏼
I'd imagine longer term having your straps against a metal 90 degree angle from the wheel would be terrible for their longevity. If you're not protecting them with a sleeve, you really need to be using proper "lasso" car tire straps that wrap around
I use to use the rubber shock straps on mine. I now have a quad now and it rides in the back of my truck with straps.
Thank you
Good to see some content from you!
Thank you, we’ve been busy working on our own community & App, launch date is beginning of January. 👍🏼
@@FishersOffRoad looking forward to it.
Thank you very much for this video, I was doing it wrong and hooking up my wolverine exactly how you explained not to. I wonder why the guys at the Yamaha shop never told me this when I was unloading for service. I've had problems with my straps coming lose and new it was the machine bouncing that was causing it but didn't know how to fix it. I really appreciate you taking the time to show the proper way to strap down my UTV to a trailer, you definitely saved me money on my truck insurance from a lose strap flying off to who knows where! 👍👍✌️
Glad I could help you out, thank you for watching and for your feedback! 👍🏼
Eggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggslent info. Thanx for sharing. You Rock!
Thank you for watching!
Stayed in that exact cabin in Gilbert VW right next to the Speedway! Absolutely beautiful cabin! Very close to trail heads! Go taste test the moonshine up on the hill! Well worth it after a long day of riding rock house!
It was a nice cabin! We went up there a few years ago but not this trip.
Very informative video....
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Helpful thanks
You bet, thanks for watching.
Good video

Great video. I have been using the Louisiana guard dog and trailer dog for the last 10 years to secure my units in the bed of my truck and on my trailer with zero problems. This to me is the best and easiest way to secure a atv/utv. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
I have the E-Trac system. I absolutely love that setup cause I know for a fact it’s not going anywhere and there isn’t any strain on any steering components. Plus the excess strap is folded and slipped between the tire and the strap then tighten the strap. It’ll never come out. Your way is fine for you and that’s all that matters.
👍🏼
Evening,
I watched your video on how people store extra fuel on their atv/wheeler. My son’s atv doesn’t have a ton of distance per tank. I’m fairly new to atv’ing so I wanted to reach out. I know the brand Rotopak, but I saw Amazon sells one one black, which honestly I like better, but I’m wondering if you can mount these in their sides.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Yes you can mount them on their side, they will not leak. Thanks for watching and feel free to hit me up with any other questions.
@@FishersOffRoad Appreciate it!
Thank you!
Great video thanks for the tips!! What brand are the straps? I really like that the hooks have the retaining clip on them TIA
Thank you! Those straps are from DiamondBack truck covers. diamondbackcovers.com/products/ratchet-loop-straps
Good video and information. I am very interested to hear your thoughts and review of the wolverine x2 1000.
I’m almost done putting the X2 1000 video together. Thanks for watching!
@@FishersOffRoad I can't wait to see it. Thanks for your quick reply.
Wow, it's hard to believe there are people out there that can't figure out the rachet on a ratchet stap. And I thought I was nieve for not knowing where my tie down points were on my machine.
I have a ratchet strap tips & tricks video getting ready to hit 1M views. It must be a popular search on YT. ua-cam.com/video/JS3KyQenQxo/v-deo.htmlsi=9G-P2yx1eiKjpHVu
I can't imagine having ratchet straps and "being scared" to let the strap out of the ratchet because you can't figure out (???) how to put it back
Hey Brian, great info. Question on the diamondback cover. Do you ever use it to haul a sxs, and if so, how do they ride up there?
I have used their SXS DB Cover before. I hauled a two seat General and it did great. I would say it depends on your truck, I had a RAM 3500 dually and never even noticed it was up there. I would say a 250 or 350 would be good to haul a SXS on the DB cover. Check this video out:
Utilizing our Diamondback SXS Hauler on the Ram 3500 Dually

Thanks!
I hauled a RZR 900 with mine. It worked well, til I did a long arm kit and taller tires. At that point, the front tires against the headache rack left the rear tires sticking 3-4" off the back of a full sized 8' box. You'll probably want extensions for hauling a SXS on a deck, even with a long bed.
You'll need the center support as well, the shims will not hold the weight and the sag will prevent the tailgate from opening or closing.
Hey cavscout43, thanks for the feedback.
Do you have tips for mounting a handheld HAM radio on a SXS?
Sorry, I don’t.
Good info man. Hey do you have a link for that windshield? I'm gonna need one.
Here ya go brother, this is a super high quality windshield for sure! yamaha-motor.com/p/wolverine-glass-windshield-with-wiper-and-washer-system
@@FishersOffRoad Cheers man!!
Still like to load backwards I have had rock chips in the windshield in the past - rear glass is less expensive than a curved glass windshield.
The point is the accidents it causes. I was on a comity with insurance companies and trailer manufacturers a couple years ago and this was a major topic of discussion on how to educate people on trailering the correct way. Totally up to you how you haul your machine.
I’m Leary of glass period. It’s too easy to crack on the trails and I’m sure full coverage isn’t going to constantly replace a $1300 windshield. I love the look and ease of cleaning tho
I have a Polaris ute...they suggested I put the machine in Neutral while I tow. Or can I put it in Park?
Great question! I personally like to put my machine in H gear and put the E Brake on, if the machine has park I let it in park. Not saying that’s the 100% correct way to do it, I strap my units down really good so I don’t get any back & forth movement. I’ve never had any problems with any of our machines hauling them that way.
Hi Brian !
Great tips thanks!
What’s your thoughts on the proper gear to use when towing and or e brake on or off in regards to your machine on the trailer.
Thanks again for all your tips over the years. 😎😎

We’ll have some coming in 2024. 👍🏼
Great vid. What are the specs of your tire and wheel setup?
I’m running 14” Sedona Sano beadlocks with a +38MM or AKA 6+1 off set. Tires are 30X10X14 Sedona Ridge Saws.
@@FishersOffRoad Stock clutching? This setup looks great and if it holds up for you, it will hold up for me.
@johnkoko yes, stock clutching. 👍🏼
@@FishersOffRoad thank you for answering all my questions. One last question. Do you know how close this is to stock width? I really don't want to go wider. I have no idea what the stock wheel offset is. When I look at Sedona's website they only should these wheels in a +10 for the 4x110 bolt pattern. Thanks again!
Do you have 30 '' tires on that x2 1000??
Yes I do, they rub a little in the front at full turn.
What size tire and wheel do you have on the machine in this video?
30X10X14 Sedona Ridge Saws and 14” Sedona Sano beadlocks, +38MM or 6+1 offset.
Love the look of that machine.. I just bought an rpec x2 1000
When are you gonna do a video on the new x2 1000?
Great question! I’ll vote for that!
I was working on the edit yesterday, I need a couple more elements to finish it up. But it’s very close to being done. 👍🏼
FYI, we’re launching our own Off-Road Family community & App beginning of January. Miss & I also started Live Talk Tuesday again on FB & YT until we get our community launched. 👍🏼
@@FishersOffRoad I’ll be your first guest!….
Great information Brian! So glad to see you still sharing tips and tricks to this awesome off road community. Be sure to tell the family we say hello. Jesse R.
What tires do you have on your ride?
For this ride, I had Sedona Ridge Saw 30 X 10 X 14’s.
Would you recommend these straps
The @DiamondBackCovers straps? Yes definitely, I’ve been using them for years.
What’s the Wheel and Tire setup on the X2?
I’m running a Sedona Sano Beadlock 14” 5+2 offset wheel (I prefer a 6+1 offset) with a Sedona Ridge Saw 3X10X14. The tires do rub a little when making tight turns.
There’s no way to run a 30 inch tire on the stock wheels?
@@jenozanetti6664yes you can, just make sure the tire is a 14” wheel size. 30X10X14 would work.
Except you’re putting your strap against a tear point in that wheeler rim..eventually your wheeler will tear through that strap unless you use actual straps with protective cover over strap, but strapping wheels are great method…
Not these wheels, cheap wheels with sharp edges yes.
Say this louder for the people in the back lord god some of the stuff I see driving down the interstate scares the crap out of me. I tried to explain just how you strap yours and the people who believe that wrapping a strap around your wheel will break the wheel is unbelievable.
Yes sir, I hear you loud & clear! The ones that are set on their ways and say it’s wrong are the ones that need the info the most!
Just like using a winch to secure an ATV or SXS, every time I went to the WARN headquarters they would show me hundreds of gears that were destroyed by the winch being used to tie down a unit or being used to drag someone out of a mud hole.
@@FishersOffRoad I was guilty of the winch thing but no to strap it down the pulling part I learned that lesson really fast when I was a kid grandpa was not happy.
@bobbyratliff3349 grandpa’s know best, LOL
Straping this way cuts the strap. Everytime
I guess it depends on how you're strapping, what wheels you have and the quality of your straps. I've been doing it like this for years with zero issues.
I can't imagine enough wind loaded backwards to rip off the windshield, roof, and seats. Hurricane force maybe but highway speed, come on.
That’s why I do these videos, to educate people.
I've seen it happen.
Great video just got a general and now I know how to tie it down thanks
You bet, thanks for watching!
