Fr Mike is so expressive and makes the bible come to life.I am glad he shared about Rosemarie and her journaling that help prepare her to get ready to meet God. His humility really speaks to my heart. I like when Fr Mike said on Day 324 " Suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, character produces hope and hope does not dissapoint us." Yesterday, when Fr Mike mentioned how he is praying for us especially those who are having a hard day I really needed to hear that. Especially since yesterday we sold my father's home. I was crying off and on and his words were so soothing. Fr Mike explains the bible so well and makes it easier to understand. Sometimes I still need my husband or my daughter help understanding, but I am comprehending a lot of it. Ray, I think your videos helped GP get prepared to meet God. So proud of all your work! Your grandfather was so PROUD of you too!
God bless the family of Rosemary, and God bless you Fr. Mike you do so much for so many. I too follow your "Bible in a Year" in fact I am on my 2nd year & I can't tell you how many days I have been in a difficult place & you kept me going. Thank you & God bless you Always!🕊🙏🙏🙏🕊🤗
When he read that Rosemarie passed on 6/27, I paused. That was my Grandpa's birthday. He passed when I was 10 and in fourth grade. The day she passed would have been his 91st birthday. He is my example of faith. Even when sick and on constant oxygen he desired the Eucharist and prayed his daily Rosary. I love you Grandpa Bob.
Father Mike, I just want to remind you of how loved you are. You are my everyday friend and my constant, with Bible in a Year. You have changed my life and my friends lives and I am eternally grateful. During the hardest year of my life, You, JESUS, and the bible are my deepest strength and joy. I am a 3 & 1/2 yr old Catholic and am the most hopeful I’ve ever been in 53 years of life. I will re enlist to bible in a year next year because I know it’s the greatest part of my life, love and learning. I love you for your efforts and being. I pray for you and our beloved friends. Bless you!
To be truly macho is to cry to show mercy to be compassionate and forgiving mostly as an act of the WILL. Forgiveness has nothing to do with feeling’s they will come eventually! One’s emotions have there own God given control and if we screw around with that beautiful control we’ll end up in HELL in this life at least. Because I’d so repressed my emotions and tears as a child and teen,I now have great pain in my chest and head when I get tearful and emotional. Please Jesus and Mary help me to cry and can’t do it on my own! Praise Jesus and Mary always!!!
The BIY is the best thing that ever happened in my life. There's something I look forward to each day. I'm ill and hardly go about, and have no family. Thank you, Fr. Mike!
Beautiful story! Praying for the repose of Rosemary’s soul!! The Bible In a Year podcast has been such a blessing in my life. I thank God for not missing one day and to begin each day in His word!! Thank you for posting this ❤️🥺
At 1:09, I prepared to cry. And preparation was necessary. What an amazing story; thanks for sharing. It was cool to see Scott Hahn in the video, too. :) Two of my favorite people in one.
May she rest in peace 🕊️ What a touching account. Continuing to pray for your family and ministry 🙏🏻 Because of your inspiration I pray an Our Father in honor of my Guardian Angel every morning, and ask him to greet the Angels of all I shall meet that day. I've only forgotten very rarely, not often at all, but last week I was working in a classroom when the students became unruly and wouldn't settle down. Then I remembered that I'd forgotten to ask my Angel to greet theirs! So I prayed silently, and before I finished praying, the students calmed down. So be assured that I do remember you and your family every day! May God continue to bless you 😇
Stories like this make me appreciate my Guardian Angel more. He has had literally a thankless job for like 25 years, and I have been wanting to change that. :)
Thank you for that reminder. A while ago I asked our priest if we can pray for our Guardian Angel and he said it is a good idea. So first I apologized for neglecting him for so long and then I started praying for him. Now my heart breaks for all the Guardian Angels who don't get prayers and who go unappreciated. Well, maybe they're ok with that because they're not blind like the rest of us and they live in the presence of God but I'm sure it's nice for them to get prayers anyway. Thanks again. I'm going to try to remember that and follow suit.
Dear Mother Schmitz, As the mother of three boys, I can't help but see your son, Fr Mike, through a mother's eyes. How happy you must be (I rarely use the word "proud" as I feel pride leads me in the wrong direction) to have been given a part in raising someone who so obviously loves the Lord, His Word, and others! (My guess is the other Schmitz "children" are delightfully talented and loving as well, and that your family time is a chaotic, hilarious hoot!!) I watched the full version of the above video a while back and was SO moved by Fr Mike's open, genuine love for this gentleman and his wife's story. What a beautiful display of authentic, Christlike love -- he cares so much! P.S. My hubby & I planned to travel to Duluth for our 25th anniversary with hopes of hearing Fr Mike preach...but COVID. Planned again for our 26th anniversary...but family issues. Maybe the 27th??
Its in the little things when we are faithful to God, He reveals His miracles. Thank you Father Mike. Love your talks and teachings. My family hear your masses every Sunday. All glory to God. You are in my prayers. God bless You. Karen from India.
I cried with you Fr Mike! Thank you for being you and for being genuine. Thank you for all the work you and your team put in the BIAY. May God bless you always.
Fr Mike, I am filled with Joy that you were able to learn of Rosemary and her journey in this profound time! What a wonderful husband to send that to you, and share that precious time his wife had with you and the The Word of God! I listen to you everyday....well, almost I have 100 days to go, yet, I NEVER made it this far in the Bible before, after countless attempts. I marvel everyday at the enthusiasm and articulation that you have in reading. You were meant to do this....And I am so grateful that my friend told me about Bible in a Year. I had started reading the Bible Jan 1st and she told me not to go it alone....I am so glad that I didn’t. I did it with you, and my life has been forever changed. Many years ago an acquaintance told me, “God only asks you to read one book!!!” And that message has haunted me for years. I am finally doing it! 100 days to go....and I plan on starting it over again once I finish. Thank you for using your God-given calling to help me!
Fr. Mike’s cheer and Love for our Lord exudes from him. I always feel cheery after listening to him read the Bible. I’m so sorry for Rose Mary’s husband. She is resting in the arms of Jesus. After my dad passed and then my mom, I saw and experienced mysteries and imo, miracles . I saw the beauty in death through the pain. Indeed, being close to someone close to meeting our Good Lord, it is a true gift. I try to explain this to others but many people look at me sideways. God bless all of you.
Fr Mike, thank you for accepting God’s commandment to spread the Word. I’ve been looking for a way to share my story, similar to the one you shared in this video. I started the BIAY in March and have tried to catch. My father recently passed away and on the very day of his vigil, you read Wisdom 3. This was so powerful that it helped me through the vigil. There are no coincidences. This was God’s work. God bless. Vivat Jesus.
Indeed. Real good food for the soul and food for thought. By the way, that video you shared, is there some link to watch it in total? Thanks and God bless.
