Darkflame Raime woke up yesterday and decided to release this banger. I love this video idea. It’s so interesting to watch all these different games back to back. I was never bored watching this video since there’s just so much content packed into it. I also had a pretty good laugh while you were playing Mad Frost. I’ve even considered playing some of these games either with friends or by myself in the future. Overall this was a great video and I’d love to see more content like this in the future.
Thanks for your feedback. Object N is definitely fun with friends, and I’m glad you enjoyed the Mad Frost section 😂 Also, since you liked this kind of video I recommend watching similar ones by other UA-camrs (the one I linked in the description and mentioned in the video is my favorite).
A friend of mine made Automaton Lung. It was a solo project, originally developed for the Nintendo 3DS. Iirc it was the last game (or one of the last games) to ever be published on the 3DS eshop. The game is a really surreal experience, that I recommend to anyone who is interested in indie passion projects.
That's awesome, I did know a bit of that since I looked into it (and completed the game) after releasing this video. If you get the chance then please tell your friend that my friends and I really like the game! It is an inspiration to us since we also want to make a low poly 3D game! thanks for watching and commenting :)
It's a little sad that some of these are only now being seen. There are some cool ideas here! I think it goes to show that to stand out, sometimes you need to step back from modern conventions and just let the player immerse themselves. Nice showcase!
Yes, it is a bit sad since I’m sure a lot of work and effort went into so many games that very few people ever play. I really like finding unknown / underground stuff since there could be many hidden gems…. Thanks for watching and for commenting, I appreciate it
The line on the note in Object N. “Well so much for the government. Their idea of containment is to kill everyone associated with the project” is ripped straight from half life 1 lol
Ok, there is much to say because this is an awesome selection of games (great job in covering them thoroughly). First and foremost, my personal list. I would say 1. Mad Frost. 2. Mad Frost. 3. Mad Frost. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & beyond all go to Mad Frost. It would get the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals in the Video Game Olympics :3 All jokes aside, 1. Resonance of the Ocean. Phenomenal little experience. Less is more, it seems. And it’s free? Mind-shattering. I must applaud the dev (devs?) Impeccable Art and Sound. 2. Lunar Lich. Lovely little game. A lot of heart in a tiny little container. I loved how the game’s translations were sooo interesting. The simple puzzle design was very discouraging, but in exchange, the scares were admittedly pretty fun, and there were many funny design choices/decisions. I also loved the cute little art. Kind of a cool story as well. Hopefully, the dev improves and continues. I am eager for their next work. 3. Mezzanine. I adored this game. It may have odd controls, but you gotta admit, without those, it wouldn’t really be as rewarding to solve the grandiose yet mundane puzzles. I was especially impressed by the Coffee Puzzle, though I was a little disheartened and heartbroken to see you drink the Coffee so quickly without saving any for later. Very immersion-breaking. Also, I really actually loved the Aesthetic and definitely loved the first Musical track. The UA-cam track was funny af, but it strangely fit the setting. I think it might’ve been a remix… “We will return, up there… to the Mezzanine, bathed in rays of gold”. 4. Automaton Lung. I actually really enjoyed this one, great Aesthetic and Music. I also kind of disagree about that uneasy track, I listened to it again, and it seems pretty fitting and even lighthearted/jolly. It may be because I’m used to it, as it reminds me of Aeon Flux, which is actually a little similar to this game to me, for some reason…. 5. Object N. Kind of a… well, it’s an admirable effort, but the problem is, it is kind of an unremarkable Half-Life clone, but of course, this is probably someone’s first attempt at a shooter. Moreover, it actually looked fun, though that could be due to Ploop’s utter exuberance and sheer levity, as well as his jollity. I still don’t know why there were zombies though…. 6. Lazaret. Very… solid conceptually. It feels like they have a vision but the execution is very overly simplistic. It was atmospheric, yet mot really scary, though tbf, I wasn’t in the seat of the player to really feel it. I am easily scared, but eh… after you realize the lack of consequence, it’s hard to be afraid. The Monster’s Design could be a little cooler. 7. Mad Frost. I actually considered putting Mad Frost above Lazaret and Object N… unironically this time 😆😅 That’s because Mad Frost was kind of an interesting game, and it’s Art Style was so pleasant and charming. I also actually thought it’s puzzle design was kinda cool, yet incomplete in terms of feel and… that strange part with the Companion Cube. Also, the terrible quality of life with regards to the dialogue and controls, as well as directing and guiding the player. And that bug gave me a blueball at the end.
I do disagree with a lot of your points, but yes I agree about Object N. Also that Godrick reference was actually pretty funny. Mezzanine, O Mezzanine!
Ploop better come back to this channel. I gotta agree wirh you, lunar lych suuuuucked As an rpg maker game coniossiour, i know full well the range of quality that can come from this medium. Also, witches house playthrough when?
Intriguing video, also your voice is soothing.
Thank you, I appreciate that :D
Mezzanine looks like it had a lot of passion behind it, I really love the distinct aesthetic
how did this not have more views wtf
Thank you :)
I’m still quite a small channel

Just recently released the follow-up to this video :)
Just thought I'd let you know, since you were one of the people who requested it!

Wtf, excellent catch! I never played Half-life so I would never have known. Thanks for watching btw
Superb platforming mechanics in the first game. My least favorite was Mad Frost.

Don't rage at Lunar Lich too much xD
