Allegedly, Firewalk had a budget of 200 mil in their own & investors’ money. They blew it all by early 2023, with Concord barely in alpha. Then Sony bought them & had to spend 200 mil more outsourcing to rush development for an on-time release. This isn’t even counting marketing, which between the commissioned cartoon episode and the themed controllers, was obviously, ridiculously overindulged in. What really needs to be asked is what was Herman Hulst slipped to convince him this would be an OT Star Wars-tier phenomenon.
I find it refreshing to see so many people collectively dunking on Sony for their lack of exclusives. People dislike exclusives and so do I BUT consoles feel like expensive doorstops without them. They kinda are the face of console generations. We can return to PS1, PS2 PS3, even PS4 years after the fact and play games that technically only came out on those systems. Emulation side steps that but even still, those console will always hold some degree of value and legacy in the long term.

They should take off all the remasters/ports and multi-platform games from the list cause they don't count as PS5 exclusives. R-Type is a remaster and the original is on PC. Astro Bot is also coming to PC. Spider-Man 2 PC port is already playable on PC due to the hack.

Allegedly, Firewalk had a budget of 200 mil in their own & investors’ money. They blew it all by early 2023, with Concord barely in alpha. Then Sony bought them & had to spend 200 mil more outsourcing to rush development for an on-time release. This isn’t even counting marketing, which between the commissioned cartoon episode and the themed controllers, was obviously, ridiculously overindulged in. What really needs to be asked is what was Herman Hulst slipped to convince him this would be an OT Star Wars-tier phenomenon.

I find it refreshing to see so many people collectively dunking on Sony for their lack of exclusives.
People dislike exclusives and so do I BUT consoles feel like expensive doorstops without them.
They kinda are the face of console generations.
We can return to PS1, PS2 PS3, even PS4 years after the fact and play games that technically only came out on those systems.
Emulation side steps that but even still, those console will always hold some degree of value and legacy in the long term.
