I’m so glad RPG Limit Break chose this game to be showcased. This game is fantastic and deserves more exposure. (That’s my donation at 21:00.) By the way, is there any reason for the clock discrepancy? The timer pauses at “41 : 18” for a long time, and then it attempts to correct itself later on, but it’s still not consistent as it’s about 43 seconds behind what it should be. The run starts at 1:31 in the VOD, meaning there should be a difference of 1 minute and 31 seconds between the VOD time and the timer, but the adjusted time later has a difference of about 2 minutes and 14 seconds. For the record, this isn’t a major complaint seeing as this is just a marathon run and not a PB attempt, but I’m just curious about the clock issues.
Literally makes it so every attack one hit kills enemies. Eliminates basically any amount of routing, card collecting, boss skill, it'd just be a glorified walking simulator with cutscenes. It's a toggle in the game's menu.
As much as I like the streamlined deckbuilding in that game in theory, in practice it makes it so the better you are at the game the less fun it becomes. The optimal deck is like 15 cards and you basically just chain the same series of cards over and over again because nothing punishes you for having a small deck (unlike this game where you get pass cards and shuffle turns), just relay the same combo on every character repeatedly, only changing out their specials/equips to suit the current boss. Makes the game mindnumbingly repetitive and devoid of moment-to-moment strategy. The game also has no items as it heals you after every round, meaning there's no resource management or punishment for playing better or worse in battle so long as you make it out alive. Also that game has Apotheosis which is just the most broken thing in the duology by such an absurd margin that the optimal strat is "get Apotheosis and win" for several fights once you get past the heart-to-heart (as in several fights in the route for that game literally just run a 10 card deck with The Apotheosis queued up and don't really use Milly or Guillo much at all, and if it's not The Apotheosis it's run some other powerful combo and nothing else) I like BKO but you kind of have to impose something on yourself to make it fun. I don't think BK1 has the same problem.
@@GhostKumoYeah, since BK1 has a fixed deck size, you can’t just dominate with 10 great cards. Due to pass cards, having a shorter deck in BK1 does not provide any advantage. Your probability of drawing a specific card will always be 1/(Deck Limit), so putting in fewer cards doesn’t boost your efficiency or increase the amount of shuffles. Plus, shuffle turns incentivize you to boost your Class Level to have a larger deck. BK2 doesn’t have a fixed deck size, so having a small deck is ideal since you can just choose the few cards you want and simply repeat the same combos over and over. If BK1 is about effectiveness (fill your deck with the best cards), then BK2 is about efficiency (pick only the cards you need). By the way, great job with the commentary. I’m glad _Baten Kaitos_ finally got to appear at one of these marathons.

There’s probably some small blips here and there, the stream was having small issues and eventually the internet went out completely at the venue.

It would be nice to know what the "no instant KOs" would entail. Is that an option like the game speed?
Yes. When the run strats, at the very first second, you see LGG presing X to bring the "Quality of Life" menu, it's in it.

Correct, I think mentally I was mixing it up with a riviere. A diadem is more of a crown and very similar to a tiara.
