Have you had any issues with cracking or chipping?

What kind of prep work did you do. Think I want to do this to my bowtech.
B3 Outdoors what kind of primer did y'all use?
Dennis Bartley, as far as prep work, we just used the sand colored spray paint as a “primer” just so the other colors at something to adhere to, and in case the dipping missed some spots the tan would show through, not the purple. We just used the clear sealant spray “paint” and sprayed it on after letting the dip dry for 8 hours. It’s been knocked around and whacked into trees/branches and still no cracks!
Looks awesome. But so you all that are thinking about doing it, it will void most warranties by all the bow manufacturers....
Trust me young lady at 70 I can So Relate to being LH in a right handed world. I just recently bought a LH bolt action rifle. Y'all did real well on the Dip painting procedure. It turned out sharp. My rifle has a synthetic stock and dipping it is looking like something I might try. Thanks For the Video Y'all!!

Brooke, really nice paint job! I learned some stuff from your video. I know this is an older video but one thing that will make the bow quieter and dampen nock travel…move the string stop so it just contacts the string at rest if you haven’t already.

I will say u need to make a jig for the bow so its safer for ya an a string jig to make your own strings for the bow make your own colors mix an match it. I got a jig I shoot recurve but it's so much fun making your own bow strings to the colors u want an really customize your boy 100%
You can decrease the bow weight to 7# on this Diamond Edge SB-1 so it is safe without a jig ;).

When you put the bow back together you have the cables on wrong. They should cross on the bottom, not the top. Sorry, as a bow tech, that was driving me nuts the whole time I watched lol. It may not cause anything you notice right away but could cause issues down the road.
First thing I saw too. Will cause premature wear on the cable servings and could even cause the cable to derail, but not as likely at short draw lengths with less cable take-up. Other than that, great video! I didn't know you could hydro dip with regular spray paint, came out great!

Ill stick to use spray paint and tape. And maybe some model masters. On an oneida bow. I really want a dark blue with black accents
good work on the dipping. I have seen others spray in multiple area in the dip tank and it appears the paints leave more swirl . Just what I have seen
Hint: you can pack your threaded holes with marine grease to keep them from getting paint filled during priming and dipping. Just swab the grease out before reassembly

It was the rustoleum camo line! Essentially just black, sand/tan, and forest green.

It was the rustoleum brand from Walmart but i think any would work.
Do you have any scent issues in the woods with the bow? I feel like the spray paint wouldn’t exactly lose its smell very easily
Over time the bow "aired out" in a new video coming tonight Brooke had 6 does underneath her without evening smelling her. We did not you and scent spray.

Going on season #3 and starting to see a few chips but nothing bigger than the size of a sharpie point. Still works/looks great!
How were you able to take the bow apart without a bow press and it not "explode" on you? Asking bc I am wanting to put new spacers on and my bow press is down!!!!
With this bow the poundage goes all the way down to 18ish pounds so I was able to just “man handle” the bow with out exploding. Some bows will request a bow vice to safely do this.
Theres a couple of bows on the market that you can let all the way down with the limb bolts, No need for a bow press or 'man handle'. Mine is not one of those, but I have a bow press.

Yoziey, nope, we just sprayed the tan spray paint over the purple to act as a primer.
