    I kept seeing that short little P. affinis in gardens, good to finally know what it is I have the red dragon one growing in a pot it sounds like it might do okay in our heavy soil so I might try freeing it.

    I love persicarias! They are such a great choice in my gardens! The afinus is great in big pots and it hangs down quite nicely. Love your videos!

    John, enjoyed your video. I think this plant will do well here (Puget Sound area Washington State) so I would like a suggestion for purchasing through a reputable source. Thank you for the great information.🙂

      Hi, I'm in Puget Sound too, and came here because I planted P. 'Red Dragon' this spring and it is very leggy, it's laying on top of all its neighbors. I didn't get a specific answer to what I should do, but I'm going to cut it back and see if it will bush out. Anyway I got mine at Flower World.

    I rarely see this plant offered in our garden centers here in the Midwest USA. I wonder why?

    Did your red dragon survive the awful winter this year? I'm in Essex and it was so cold for ages. Garden is windy too despite being fenced. Many things died :( can't take any more losses! Not sure if it will be right cultivar for my situation

    I have 2 of these red dragon but both shoot out almost horizontally from the centre. Do you know how to encourage it to be more upright? Thanks

      If you mean the wine coloured one, I'm pretty sure it's a cotinus, maybe amazing grace.

    In all the pictures I've seen online of Red Dragon persicaria, none are as red as this.

    What is the species name for pink persicaria?

    • @johnlordssecretgarden
      @johnlordssecretgarden  2 роки тому +1

      Persicaria amplexicaulis is the species name for the larger persicaria that is commonly grown. There is also the ground cover Persicaria affine.

    PLEASE. If you must have music, please try something not so bouncy, so repetitive. John Lord is the genius because he knows what he talks about and that's what I want to listen to. The music you have chosen is a huge mistake!!
