Logan does take place in the Days of Future Past Timeline. Logan said no new mutants had been born in 20 years. 2029- 20 years = 2009. Stealy Wheely Automobily Not really. The only thing that messed up was Deadpool. But timeline stuff fixed that so Origins really isn’t that bad of a movie
Yes indeed! I thought Jean had outlived the Phoenix Saga in the new timeline after Days of Future Past? Now she had died yet again in the Dark Phoenix.......
@Luke Skywalker I don't really consider dark phoneix to be canon. Because it sure confused the hell out if me! Let's be honest here! The movie was shit and it made no sense.
nope!! in dark phoenix jean is shown alive at the very last scene and i think she saves mystique{ raven} because she is with magneto till the end and yeah that's that !! jean's not dead!!
You can also watch them in this order 1) Xmen 2) X2 Xmen United 3) Xmen the last stand 4) Xmen Orgins wolverine 5) Xmen First Class 6) The wolverine 7) Days of future past 8) Deadpool 9) Xmen Apocalypse 10) Logan
I go by what the storyline says not by what you’re like camo ass but thanks for offering this theatrical time why I can’t go by that or is it will just keep me. In more confusion than I already a.m. already do but I do appreciate your worst but he forgets that if men apocalypse is actually another prequel then it leads right into dark phoenix saga or could just be another prequel and also sequel to. X men apocalypse
Here’s the actual timeline from the producers and directors confirmed. I will break it all down so no one is confused....hopefully. X-Men: First Class X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men X-Men 2: United X-Men: The Last Stand The Wolverine X-Men: Days of Future Past X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men: Dark Phoenix Deadpool Deadpool 2 The New Mutants Logan Ok so the old timeline starts off with First Class all the way to The Wolverine. First a Class is when Magneto and Professor X meet and make the first X-Men team and then in Wolverine Origins. This is when Logan gets his Admantium Claws and fights his brother Sabertooth and the messed up Deadpool and then at the end Wolverine loses his memory because Stryker shoots him in the head and then right after Logan is taken to Professor X school and joins the X-Men to fight Magneto. In Origins Professor X makes a cameo and takes Cyclops and the other mutants to his school. Then X-Men 1 and 2 right after Origins. X-Men: The Last Stand is Jean Grey and the Dark Phoenix and then Logan kills her to stop the Dark Phoenix and then we get Wolverine. At the end of Wolverine we see Professor X and Magneto. Now how did Professor X die and come back? He transferred his conscious into his twin brother. If you don’t believe me then watch the post credit scene for X-Men: The Last Stand and in the hospital is Professor X twin brother. Both Magneto and X work together and recruit Logan to go back in time and change the events of 1973. To stop Mystique from killing Trask and stopping the Sentinels. At the end of DOFP, Wolverine comes back from the Past and Everything from X-Men Origins: Wolverine to The Wolverine, are all erased and never happens. Wolverine creates two new timelines. One timeline which I will refer to as the Old timeline or OG timeline is at the end of DOFP Wolverine Wales up and everyone is Alive. Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Professor X, Beast, etc. Wolverine has some of his memory lost but Professor X helps him retrieve all of his lost memory. In the New Timeline is back in 1973 when Wolverine went back in time in DOFP is when he is fighting Magneto and then he gets drowned in the ocean. But is saved by Stryker and he takes him to the Weapon X program. There is a Post Credit Scene in DOFP which features Young Apocalypse rising the pyramids along with the four horsemen. Then we have Apocalypse. In Apocalypse we see a Cameo of Wolverine after Stryker takes him to Weapon X and he breaks out with some of his memory gone but Jean Grey helps him restore some like who he is and where he cane from but then he leaves never to be seen again. Now in the New Timeline DOFP is in 1973 and Apocalypse takes place during the 80’s and Dark Phoenix which is coming this years is in the 90s. At the end of Apocalypse we see a post credit scene of Logan’s blood being used to make mutants. That Post Credit Scene takes place during the Old OG timeline where Wolverine goes back and is in the happy ending with everyone alive and they are all older. This is in the year 2014. Now 25 years later after that ending is Logan. Logan takes place in 2029 and is in the Old Timeline NOT the new one. Logan takes place right after when Wolverine wakes up and see that everyone is alive. Now in Logan, Wolverine remembers all the events of Origins and the wars he encountered and all the people he hurt with his brother Sabertooth and everything that happens in X-Men 1, 2, 3, The Wolverine, and DOFP. Even though that timeline got erased, Wolverine still remembers everything that happened. Reason being is because there is a deleted scene in Logan where he is talking about his brother Sabertooth. In Logan there is a scene where Logan and Charles are talking about the Westchester incident. The Westchester incident is that there hasn’t been any New Mutants for over 25 years. In Logan we discover that Professor X accidentally killed all the X-Men and children at his school due to his Alzheimer’s and his brain powers to cause his seizures and that’s why they all are dead. And then if you seen Logan you know what happens. R.I.P. to the Logan and Charles. But remember the facility which other mutants and Laura which is Logan’s daughter. I said the post credit scene in Apocalypse shows the blood used by Logan to create other Mutants such as Laura and X-24. Now Deadpool, Deadpool is apart of the X-Men and is apart of the New Timeline when Wolverine erased all of Origins all the way to The Wolverine. Now Deadpool is in 2016 and Deadpool 2 is in 2018 which is present day. Dark Phoenix is in the 90’s and the X-Men are still young. Now I just saw Deadpool 2 and not really a spoiler but in the movie Deadpool is in Professor X school and he is ranting about how Colossus and Teenage Warhead are the only ones here. But there is a small cameo and it is very easy to miss cause it happens very fast. When Deadpool is ranting we see a glimpse of Beast, Quicksilver, Professor X, and some others I can’t remember but yeah they are talking in Professor X office and Beast quickly hilariously closes the door before Deadpool can see then while he is ranting. This is in the New Timeline btw just reminding you. After The Events of Dark Phoenix is when Deadpool comes right after and then Deadpool 2 then we have the New Mutants but I have no idea whether it is in the Old Timeline or New Timeline. Then it’s Logan. So there you have it. The official timeline and correct order for watching the X-Men movies. Sorry for this being so long I just want to give a lot of details. Your Welcome
This is the funniest video you produced. Sorry about fox again I'll be really annoyed if they get rid of this because you put so much effort in to this. Great job.
23:00 He wasn't extracting his adamantium. He was extracting his power and life force so he can keep himself young. Don't know how you got to adamantium extraction since it makes no sense either. He would have to heat his entire body to a boiling point before being able to extract it.
He was trying to extract his bone marrow which was supposed to give him his healing powers. It would have left Wolverine weakened and probably killable, but he probably also would have regenerated if given enough time. I think the plan was to kill him though afterwards.
depending on continuity even that wouldn't help you extract the adamantium. it's been specifically mentioned in a few places over the years that adamantium doesn't re-melt under heat once it's been poured/forged and hardened. if it does, the fact they think it doesn't insinuates that the new melting temperature of the adamantium is too high to be practical even in a laboratory setting, which means IF it can melt again, you probly aren't gonna see that happen unless wolverine stands directly under a space shuttle launch or falls into a volcano.
Logan isn't an alternate universe. James Mangold stated it takes place 6 years after the Days of Future Past Epilogue in 2023. Saying there hasn't been a mutant born in 25 years doesn't really change much. Charles stated in X-Men:Apocalypse that he hoped mutants and humans would be at his school. The children arent necessarily mutants and the school got shut down in 2028, when Charles had that devastating seizure. The events of X-Men 1 probably still happened, just differently. For example Night crawler was probably there and Mystique probably wasn't involved.
I think those events still happend just slightly different to what we remember. I also think X2 happend but Jean didn't die. Slight changes like that. Then after that X-Men became celebrities and lived happy with humans and mutants at the school, till the happy ending in 2023. Then everything went tits up with them discovering Trasigen poising the food supply and Charles having a seizure in 2028.
Logan does take place in the second timeline. When wolverine says no new mutants have been born in 20 years. Logan takes place in 2029. 20 years before is 2009. Wolverine wakes up in 2023 when most mutants born in 2009 would discover there powers. Also when wolverine mentions the Statue of Liberty and Xavier mentions cage fighting, I think this is referring to dofp when beast explains the quantum physics theory
The part about "no mutants have been born for 25 years" can still be in sync with timeline if you assume that they just hadn't noticed yet in Days of Future Past. Since the powers don't manifest until puberty, the school wouldn't notice the drop off in new students for at least a decade. One the drop off was noticed then they could work backwards and figure out when mutants stopped being born.
@@ellissims7627 The whole point of the video was to explain every X-Men movie in chronological order, and all you got out of it was that he miscalculated 40 for 30? Jesus, you're the one looking clever here.
Wolverine Origins happens basically at the same time as dark phoenix and in the end of origins hes like at least 50 lol, also he can walk in 1975 meeting jean.
@@BlackChanal ???? 2 totally different timelines, origins happens in the timeline 1 and dark phoenix happens 9 years after apocalypse (Apocalypse 1983 DP 1992 timeline 2) only the part when logan is young and the events before 1973 doesn't change...
nobody gives enough credit to the creators of this franchise for connecting real life events to the plot line like how JKF assassination conspiracy to magneto curving the bullet or the historical events of the Vietnam War. Absolutely brilliant and connecting all the movies at the same time.
James Mangold has said that Logan occurs in the new timeline, so even if we have that line, its still intended to be that timeline. Lets remember we are talking about the same franchise in where First Class and Origins have multiple plot holes with the other movies, but its still part of the old timeline.
It actually makes sense that there are no new mutants born after 2005, as usually the X-gen is dormant until the carrier is halfway through puberty. This means the last "new" mutant was probably discovered around 2020. At this point Charles' school is still operational. Then three years later the "incident" happens, killing a lot of mutants at the school and prompting Logan to flee with Charles, picking up Caliban along the way. It is implied that the "incident" at least killed Storm, Cyclops, Jean and any other X-men that were also teachers, so if any students survived, there was no-one to look after them anymore. Due to the "human" casualties of the "incident", mutants are feared and hated once again, and with no-one to look after these young mutants, they would become victims of this hatred. Either they were killed by angry mobs, or they died due to the virus in the corn, it stands to reason that by 2029 non survived. But because Charles and Caliban now live in Mexico, they don't get the poisoned corn, and are therefore still alive. Logan lives on both sides of the border, so he did get poisoned, but due to his healing-factor it took a lot longer before it really started to affect him. That is my take on what happend leading up to the events of Logan. To clarify: I think the line "no mutants left" applies to just the USA, otherwise neither Canada nor Mexico would be a safe place to hide. I also think there are still mutants in the rest of the world, only they are in hiding because they are hunted, and with Charles not having Cerebro, he can't sense them so assumes there are non left. Do with this theory what you want, it's just my way of making some sense of the given information.
The Professor was probably confused, thinking of how Logan explained Jean's death in X3 to him, as due to the changes in the past, Charles now does NOT place psychic barriers in her mind to force Jean's powers to mature much slower, and in any case, Scott, Ororo and Jean were all born much earlier (and several times, oddly) in the Revised Timeline, due once again to changes in the past that did not take place in the Original Timeline. As to the bright future seen at the end of DOFP, that took place roughly the same time as the events OF the dark future seen in previous parts of DOFP, IN 2023. But since Mystique chose to spare Trask's life, the ripples caused by the changes made in the past spread into the future and as a result, the events of X1, X2, and some parts of X3 and afterward still DO happen, albeit differently (Jean, Scott and the Professor never die, Jean accesses her Phoenix persona earlier, Rogue never takes the Cure, the Sentinel Program is altered, ect.) In 2028, the Professor's advanced age leads him to develop a Mutant form of Dementia, and a sudden, massive psychic seizure turns a typical day at Mutant High tragic, as 600 Mutants and civilians are injured and at least seven of the X-Men are psionically killed. Without teachers and mentors, and certainly without the recently turned cuckoo-bananas Professor, who's deteriorating mind has now been labeled a Weapon of Mass Destruction, and the private pursuits of Transigen, no doubt, the school is shut down and the students are now left to fend for themselves. Which now leads us to the events of LOGAN....one year later.
I dont think the corn killed any mutants. It just slowly got rid of their mutant powers. The off-screen event happened to speed up the process of all mutants. I think it was to kill of mainly the stronger mutants who would take decades to slow their powers. The children in the school who would have only just gotten their powers from a few weeks to a few years ago would have lost their abilities - due to the corn - pretty quickly.
Alec Lynnshire was brainwashed by Sebastian Shaw or known as Kevin bacon not tortured and being tortured to death is not funny there’s a difference here
There is no 3rd timeline. Charles and Logan had memories of both timelines and Charles confuses them due to his illness. He thinks X-Men 1 happened even though it didnt.
@@JMPlays64 The movie Logan takes place in 2nd timeline. Logan obviously remembers X-Men 1 because his memory was copied to 2nd timeline in DOFTP. Charles "remembers" X-Men 1 because he "dived" into Logan's memories, and even talked to his future self from 1st timeline in DOFTP. Now Charles confuses them. "The Statue of Liberty was a long time ago, Charles. A long time.”
also about the “there hasn’t been a new mutant born in 25 years” thing, that’s not really a plot hole. if there hadn’t been a new mutant born since 2004, and most mutations present during teen years, the effects wouldn’t really be seriously noticed for a decade or so.
no1likesnisa count the first and second timeline he talks about the third one (Logan) takes place in a alternative timeline so you can count it if you want
@23:00 What are you talking about? He slices off the Adamantium claws and drills into Logan's Bone Marrow to steal his healing factor. Logan still has a Skeleton full of Adamantium, just his claws are bone claws again, though He could have kept his metal claws so no one else uses them, and then later after joining Xavier and Magneto again, Magneto manipulates the Adamantium from the old claws onto his knew ones because Magneto is that good with his powers.
the logan timeline is part of the ending of dofp timeline and in the logan timeline all the origianal took place in it not just the first movie cause of a deleted scen where charles mentions logan killed jean grey
slightly obese rat of course avengers is easier. They don’t take risks and their films are directed toward a much younger audience (not saying they’re not for everybody)
Wow. Great video. Thanks for explaining all of that. A lot of the things in the X-Men universe are so hard to understand with this whole timeline confusion thing. Question: Have you seen the Avengers: Infinity War behind the scenes video with the start of the production and has it made you more excited if you have?
Yeah I also do think that LOGAN takes place in the third/alternate timeline. As the first timeline of Patrick Stewart's Professor X was ended in DAYS OF FUTURE PAST after they all died from sentinels, and in the new timeline of 1973 which has James McAvoy as Professor X continues as APOCALYPSE and DARK PHOENIX, and now it comes to LOGAN, where there is Patrick Stewart's Professor X so it has to be new timeline as he's already dead in DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, there's a dialogue by Wolverine that no mutant has born since 25 years (present year is 2029). So either it is a plot hole created bcoz of this one dialogue or it's an alternate timeline.
in a deleted scene from the movie charles mentions how logan killed jean grey beast mentions in days of furture past the butterfly effect so all the events of the xmen would happen but in a later date butt leade to a darker future leading up to logan
x men made me so confused that i don't even remember now what happened with all of the movies.. but watching dark phoenix today made me go in this video.. lol..
Actually his death in Logan fulfilled the prophecy that was spoken of in “The Wolverine” when they said he would die with his heart in his hand, and his daughter was holding his hands as he died, thus the 3rd timeline is a parallel version of the original in which he does not go and fight along side Charles and Magneto. It’s still part of the canon story.
The 15 years between X-Men origins : Wolverine and the X-Men trilogy, William Stryker was in prison for the kill of general Munson after finding his fingerprints on the weapon.
the order to watch the in 1)first class 2)orgins wolverine 3)x-men 4)X-2 5)last stand 6)the wolverine 7)days of future past 8)legion 9)x-men apocalapse 10)deadpool 11)logan
Everything about this time line is spot on... except for the whole third timeline thing... Why is it that hard to believe that the Logan in the movie Logan isn't the same one from the end of apocalypse & sometime after the end of that movie is when Charles has the seizure that kills most of the x-men? I honestly would be a lot more satisfied knowing that there is only one logan, one logan that has all the experiences we see in the movies in his memory EDIT* I missed the part where he said there hasn't been a mutant born in 25 years, I need to do some research here this is aggravating I want the logan we all know & love to have all these experiences in his head, not just a few of them that's corny af
Kyle Gower Logan was made completely separated from the time line. The director or something stated it was Logan and professors x last appearance and that the movie wanted to focus more on the finale aspect and not the timeline aspect
The first 10-15 minutes of the movie is canon, right up til Logan leaves Team X. The rest is non canon. I take it Logan didnt see his brother agin til the events of X-Men 1. Where he changed, became more feral and animalistic. Thats when Magneto recruited him.
Wolverine Erased the timeline in X-Men Days of Future Past. Origins, X1,2,3 and The Wolverine arent canon. Some events in those movies probably happend but differently to what we remember.
•X-Men: First Class •X-Men Origins: Wolverine •X-Men •X2: X-Men United •X-Men: The Last Stand •The Wolverine •X-Men: Days of Future Past •X-Men: Apocalypse •X-Men: Dark Phoenix •Deadpool •Deadpool 2 •Logan
Deadpool actually fits in the timeline somehow, when Logan did all that time travel stuff the events in X men origins never happened, or never happened like in the movie, Logan never scaped the facility until the x men were captured to and while breaking out freed Logan in the process
i like it how your name has d's in the start of both of your first and last name (refering that most super heros have the first and last name start with the same letter)
I agree with you, but some fans have said that because there two future prophecies that have Logan in 2029 holding his heart that is set timeline. ps the 2029 have not happen yet. Deadpool is set 1986 and the new movie Dark Phoenix is set in the 90's.
Old Man Logan is completely different from Logan. Old Man Logan follows Logan as he journeys across the U.S with Old Man Hawkeye on a job then Logan kills Bruce Banner's weird Hulk family. I think Logan follows Death of Wolverine a little more, even though technically, it doesn't follow that story either. I guess the bits they took from the comics were the cross country road trip.
No need for an third timeline to explain Logan. It just means no more mutants where born after 2004. Though people would not notice that no more mutants are being born until 10-15 years later since there mutant powers emerge in there teens.
I mean, your not entirely wrong. He practically IS the protagonist of the series. It's just that some other movies have other characters who occasionally get the spotlight
bro i love how accurate you are in explaining 1 of the most confusing super hero timelines out there but the monotone narrating without any enthusiasm is unbearable other than you sounding bored af (wich then made me bored af) your got way more correct than anybody else ive seen so props
I remember buying the number one Wolverine Comic I bought them for quite a while he is probably the most important figure in the Marvel Universe because he just simply represents standing up to oppression especially when he does not want to
Hmmm... *spoiler Not exactly. Raven is dead, Phoenix is dead and this timeline is ending with all of them happy and everything. In that case it has to be somewhere else.
But if you want to watch the movies in order this is how 1. First Class 2. X-Men 3. X2 4. Last Stand 5. The Wolverine 6. Days Of Future Past 7. Apocalypse 8. Deadpool 9. Deadpool 2 (probably) 10. Logan I skipped Origins because its shit, and messes up the whole continuity
johnnycoxville13 So Origins followed the linear path of X1,X2 and last Stand. First class came out after origins and caused continuity problems on when he got paralyzed.
So apparently, after Wolverine goes back in time, Charles and Magneto stopped aging. They are the same age in the latest movie as they were in First Class.
I thought vthat you did pretty good, but... You really could've included Deadpool. And maybe even Quicksilver's adventures with Hydra, S.H.I.E.L.D., and the Avengers? LOL! LMAO!

Cool
Dude no one has time to read this
X-Men: Apocalypse takes place before X-Men, X-2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand as far as continuity goes.
Thank you
Make this into a video and i will watch
I think the plan was to kill him though afterwards.
depending on continuity even that wouldn't help you extract the adamantium. it's been specifically mentioned in a few places over the years that adamantium doesn't re-melt under heat once it's been poured/forged and hardened. if it does, the fact they think it doesn't insinuates that the new melting temperature of the adamantium is too high to be practical even in a laboratory setting, which means IF it can melt again, you probly aren't gonna see that happen unless wolverine stands directly under a space shuttle launch or falls into a volcano.
and to think all this going to get rewritten now that marvel has the rights to the xmen
"So, what'll we do about the X-Men timeline? It's a hot fuckin' mess!"
"Iunno, rewrite it all so it's not a confusing tangled shitstorm I suppose..."

@@kenkaneki5108 u were wrong, Wandavision
Praze .Cheezus wait, the reason for the mutant extintion is that there was just no mutants born for 20 years?
25 years and no the reason was transigen putting something in the certain foods that everyone consumed that attacked the mutant cells.
makes no sense, if mutants are a step in evolution, how does evolution suddenly stop
Maybe Logan takes place after X2 and ignores all of the other movies that came after that.
THOMAS CARTER It's technically 25 years since a mutant was born.
"brings a football stadium with him''... i am literally dying xd
Me too considering it's a baseball stadium
The part about "no mutants have been born for 25 years" can still be in sync with timeline if you assume that they just hadn't noticed yet in Days of Future Past. Since the powers don't manifest until puberty, the school wouldn't notice the drop off in new students for at least a decade. One the drop off was noticed then they could work backwards and figure out when mutants stopped being born.
I always have been confused by the timelines, this was quite helpful

Well since timelines were altered a lot of things changed
It's set years after the awesome new future at the end of DOFP. Apparently, Xavier had a seizure just after that scene....
Logan and the other movies, somewhat, tie into Age of Ultron..not the movie, but the comic event.
To clarify:
I think the line "no mutants left" applies to just the USA, otherwise neither Canada nor Mexico would be a safe place to hide.
I also think there are still mutants in the rest of the world, only they are in hiding because they are hunted, and with Charles not having Cerebro, he can't sense them so assumes there are non left.
Do with this theory what you want, it's just my way of making some sense of the given information.
Panthror James Mangold said Logan kills Jean again so that part of X3 is still true
“...Erik is kept and tortured by Keven Bacon.” made me laugh out loud! 😆😆
Alec Lynnshire was brainwashed by Sebastian Shaw or known as Kevin bacon not tortured and being tortured to death is not funny there’s a difference here
23:01 he didnt extract all the adamandium. He was extracting his healing factor
There is no 3rd timeline. Charles and Logan had memories of both timelines and Charles confuses them due to his illness. He thinks X-Men 1 happened even though it didnt.
What’s make you say that?
both did happen

"I'm done talking about these films for a while now." Queue release of Dark Pheonix, lol.

Old man Logan was supposed to be based off a comic mini series where mysterio causes him to murder everyone in the x mansion

Everything about this time line is spot on... except for the whole third timeline thing... Why is it that hard to believe that the Logan in the movie Logan isn't the same one from the end of apocalypse & sometime after the end of that movie is when Charles has the seizure that kills most of the x-men? I honestly would be a lot more satisfied knowing that there is only one logan, one logan that has all the experiences we see in the movies in his memory

The first 10-15 minutes of the movie is canon, right up til Logan leaves Team X. The rest is non canon. I take it Logan didnt see his brother agin til the events of X-Men 1. Where he changed, became more feral and animalistic. Thats when Magneto recruited him.

The comic Old Man Logan is actually set in an alternate future so I think you're right when your put Logan in a 3rd separate timeline.
