Lovely pen nicely done
What a fabulous pen!
thanks, the wood was historic, taken from the grounds at our local museums, the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY. I gave it to the director when he retired.
@@imaginegrove Excellent! Some people, here in the UK, have taken advantage of storm damaged and blown over trees of historic places and made various objects and donated them to the relative places.
Beautiful
Great idea. I’ve got some Turkish Walnut with cracks that this would be perfect for.
go for it and send us pictures
"install tube" * whack * 😂
You wasted too much gold leaf by filling the blank. Why not fill it when it’s nearer the final shape?
yes, I could have done that. The blank seemed a bit unstable and I was afraid that it might blow apart, so I wanted the glue to help consolidate the crack before I turned it. Better safe than sorry. Also the leaf was not real gold, it is a composite metal leaf ( of brass and other alloys) it goes a very long way. Thanks
