So this is what moth man does when he's not driving around town in the moth mobile or being a rich mans butler. It's nice to see he can get a good vacation from crime fighting every now and then.
Lmao! C&H rules!
YO CYANIDE AND HAPPINESS REFRENCE
RŖ4ŔŘIÎÍ8ÌĬĪÏĨIJĮIGĠĜĞĢHĤTŦŢ5ÞŤ?¿‽rŗ4ŕřiîí8ìĭīïĩijįıgġĝğģhĥtŧţ5þť?¿‽
But Dr Bob did say that they were an entire species so maybe there's moth-men doing all of those like the phrase "divide and conquer"
@Derek Medina “It’s your turn to be the butler!”
“Aww, but I wanted to drive the Moth-Mobile. :( “
This is one of the best illustrations of mothman I’ve seen, especially in animation. It can often look a bit too silly to be scary, but this had just enough detail to show that it’s well done, but kept in shadow enough that you can see how it really would be a terrifying creature to come across on a country road at night. The animation here just keeps getting better and more detailed.
It's based very closely on an existing statue of the Mothman.
@@misterbadguy7325 I thought so too. I love that statue (assuming you’re talking about the same one I am) it’s so cool, but there’s something about it that I always found a little derpy looking (probably the shiny silver metal look and detailed abs and butt!). The same detail but in shades of black and dark grey and the way they’ve done the wings makes it seem more like a real creature.
SpongeBob surprisingly also did the mothman justice.
Fallout 76 also did a really good job, I think this one is a lot more accurate though
To be fair seeing large red glowing eyes in the darkness moving around in the air would scare the sh*t out of even the toughest of men and women.
Dr Bob always does his material justice, the woman's reaction would be everyone's reaction to anything not normal.
The natural instincts within would kick in, like the hair on people's back, neck and arms raising.
I love horror and everything Sci-fi, but I think everyone's natural side will come out if we ever see an anomaly. The most realistic being another life form that has travelled through space.
This man's animation is getting so great.
From good to better
@@nomesW7 and better and better
He writes the scripts and somebody else animates it
@@nolanwright9968 hope they’re getting paid well.

i saw the notification and screamed "MOTHMAN" so loudly my neighbor ran over to check if I was okay. I just love mothman so much
Good for you! [REGALELVENLAUGHTER] @@

Same except the neighbour bit
My man turned into an alternative version of MatPat yelling "MUSICMAN" from the top of his lungs.
Lol
also same except the neighbor thing
Ah yes, seeing the goat Mothman getting his own episode is awesome
Maybe we can see other urban legends get their own episodes
Pretty sure the only reason it got showed in this video is because it was classified as an scp
Sure. On an urban legend channel, or any other urban legends that are also SCPs.
Loch ness monster? Potentialy?
It has to be an actual SCP, fortunately a lot of urban legends have been written as scp's
I'm pretty sure Dr Bob has a video on SCP-1000, the Sasquach
I love the lore that Dr. Bob somehow conned his way into getting a high security clearance using unscrupulous means lol
Man's got a convincing face
The shots of the car at night, under falling autumn leaves.. that was awesome! Genuinely the best SCP content on youtube, and it has a perfect tone. Awesome job!
god watching doctor bob's animation and quality evolve is such a treat!
Agreed!

I really really like the whole concept of folklore creatures and or gods being changed by people's perception of them its such an interesting concept and explains things in a way that keeps it mysteries
I like how, in a way, this explanation is rooted in reality. Unexplained things are given an explanation, cauing more people to view the world through that lence, which causes more sightings of the made up explanation.
The more conceptual entries always have a special place for me. There's just something about an unknown force being changed by thought that I enjoy.
Thanks for the video Dr. Bob!
Fun fact! "Operation: Surgeon's Photograph" refers to the famous photo of the Loch Ness monster. It was, in reality, a toy boat or sub with a neck and head attached to it. But until then, the creature wasn't well described. Just that it was large and had a long neck. The photograph shaped the perception of Nessie as looking almost like a plesiosaurus, though there had been a sketch from a "witness" with a similar design. Since that photo, "sightings" of the Loch Ness monster started to have more consistent details. In short, Operation: Surgeon's Photograph is designed to keep the Mothman consistent and stable.
This reminds me a lot of a thing I once saw on the Loch Ness Monster, that talked about how early reports of it looked all over the place (sometimes it was small and furry, sometimes it was a giant slug, sometimes it looked like a camel, more often than not it was a land-dweller), but once a famous story about it broke that described it as a long-necked reptilian creature living exclusively in the lake, suddenly every Loch Ness sighting looked like that. Once people had an idea of what the Loch Ness Monster "should" look like, that was what it looked like in the eyes of people who "sighted" it.
the idea of the loch Ness being a dinosaur that survived extinction seems like a possibility, hence why people prefer that image of long necked reptile.
@@CalvinKalisto It's really only a possibility if you don't know much about paleontology, but that unfortunately hits a lot of people.
@@misterbadguy7325 yeah, like people just go, "what if" and that explanation ends there.
@@CalvinKalisto Now, now, sometimes they go "but coelacanths and megamouth sharks!", because poorly-fossilizing fish that spend their whole lives in exceptionally deep ocean are absolutely the same thing as giant reptiles with well-documented fossil records living in freshwater lakes.
I've read about this SCP years ago. Knowing it was inspired by the actual myth, I was impressed with how the author managed to adapt it to the SCP universe, and now I'm watching it animated!
I do believe it was the same author who wrote about SCP 1000, Bigfoot.
I don't know why, but I need whole playlist with music from this videos
Also I like how you used Mothman's statue as a base for the model in video
A real life incident with the town's local legend gets turned into an SCP?
God, I love this community.
So no one is gonna talk about how the Mothman literally take Dr Bob away
That mothman is Dr Bob's designated transporter/chauffeur
Absolutely delighted that you took a look at this SCP
I love all the weird metaphysical entries
The storytelling has become so vivid... thank you for your work!
Man just lifting his arms and Mothman be like "alright, time for a midnight ride" that had me dying. Dr Bob definitely trained Mothman for that.
“Remember, make sure to T-pose on the creature if it approaches you.”
First thing I am asking this SCP if I ever encounter it would be: "hey, how did you get so shredded and lean??"
The 05 council sent a memo, every agent assigned to this SCP are now required to carry a giant can of RAID at all times 😁
Shadow Legends?
Ah yes. Nothing like falling asleep listening a potentially nightmare fuel of a story
I was literally at the mothman festival earlier today, this is such a coincidence it came out!
There’s a mothman festival? That’s so cool! What do you do at it?
The monster trying to catch up to the car thing is an interesting spin on the common "parkour" thing
Nice
Big Foot does exist, Dr. Bob. Just read the files on SCP-1000. *looks out his window*
Why are there armed guards outside of my house?
looks good already i guess
Love the way the animation and style is evolving. It started a bit flat, probably due to the constraints of time, and it's becoming more and more dynamic and detailed. Love the shadow work with this one. You've absolutely become my favorite SCP channel! Compelling stories. Great animation. And the host is awesome. Awesome job all around!
For. God. Sake.
MothMan Is NOT A ,,,SCP’’’ Object.
This is a very popular legend in one small town.
I gotta say man, you are REALLY good at drawing cars
An SCP based on a literal cryptid. This is a first for me.
I loved this episode, and I loved the movie too.
We own The Mothman Prophecies and now I want to watch it again.
One of the cool things about the disc is it tells a couple sightings of Mothman in it.
One I remember is on these peoples wedding day they saw it fly over their car.
I'm pretty sure shortly after the car crashed and everyone in it died.
Foundation: tries to will 2901 into a docile, manageable form.
Global Occult Coalition: tries to will 2901 into being irresistibly drawn to bug zappers.
im actually glad the couple is ok in this file cause DrBob does such a good job making you attached to five minute characters and as a writer myself, hearing the descriptive details to set the scene is astounding and inspiring. Plus I like when couples doing sweet things together turn out ok because as a girl in a long distance relationship it would hurt me severely to be even further from my girlfriend (such as death) A round of applause for Dr Bob and his animations yet again!
The Legend himself
Its a good day when Dr Bob posts
Out of all the SCP channels yours is my favorite. You're such an amazing writer and narrator and it just makes for great quality videos. If you never have, you should try writing an SCP. I've been tempted many times to write Dr. Bob into the foundation. You're just too iconic and amazing. Thank you for being part of this community you talented being.
To be honest at this point, I'd be surprised if Dr Bob wasn't an SCP :') the way the others behave around him and how unafraid he is being around most of them.
You have no idea how truthful Juichibey you are.
i think dr bob is an scp. he's like an invincible being, able to quell vicious beasts and avoid all dangers with ease
Dr. Bob, is probably the best SCP animation channel ever!
Propably only conquered by the rubber
FR
@@yanosik5665Nahhhh the rubber kinda sucks
@@xtremeyoylecake now yeah, but back when he only had a few vids he was pretty good
how can you describe landscapes sooo good?! you are literally the best scp youtuber to ever exist, your storytelling is very detailed. thank you for making my day :)
I love your content man! You tell everything so interesting
"...In this moment, life is good."
LITERALLY the beginning to EVERY horror movie EVER XD
These videos are the best
Reminds me of Keteru Yamiko, who went from “nigh unstoppable” to “cute & harmless” due to a similar coordinated campaign.
Which makes me wonder: if residents start thinking of Mothman as “scary but misunderstood”, who “just wants to be friends”, and worse “rescues ppl like a guardian angel”, would the Foundation need to use some wide-dispersal amnestics in order to remind ppl that “no! Mothman isn’t friendly! It’s a frightening monster that you should keep away from!” ? :3
They could, but then they'd be stunting the growth of the creature, such beliefs could in fact drive it to become docile, manageable, and even beneficial.
@@roguecloud5674 Which would increase potential interactions with local humans, and therefore risk the veil of secrecy. :P
Having Mothman be shy & animalistic is also beneficial: they stay away from humans the way most wild animals do, and any interactions with Mothman can be treated in the same way as one treats an interaction with a wild bear.
@@UGNAvalon considering that wild boars in my area are major pests that rarely keep to themselves, that would make this SCP a major problem since you can't kill it like you could a boar, there would be a lot of injuries and deaths that couldn't be explained by any existing animal, that would leave room for a "new" animal discovery and give a way for them to have a strong influence on public perception of 2901.
Who?
@@dubuyajay9964 "Keteru Yamiko" is SCP-835-JP. A few videos have been made of it already.
Dr Bob. I really appreciate your efforts of making SCP videos. You know how to make them spooky which is what I really want to see in these kind of videos.
Anomalous story aside… COUPLE GOALSSSSSS 😍😍😍😍 the way he pulled over and didn’t dismiss her minor worry was so sweet, I’m glad they survived 💀
This is the best historical representation of a cryptid monster that I am heavily aware of thanks to Lost Tapes. I know this monster is very much iconic and known to be a disaster seeker or brings disaster wherever it is seen.
Loving these videos DrBob, keep up the great content and hard work ❤️
I always loved the stories of the Mothman, thanks for covering this one Doc!
The Animation gets better and better like fine aged wine
Aparently the fact that moth man flew over the ohio river, and lives in point pleasant... IS A TRUE FUCKING STORY!!!!
Never knew the Mothman was an entry in the wiki. First The Crooked Man and now the Mothman. Pretty cool. I wonder if there more folklore SCP’s?
The opening shots- wonderous
Thanks for putting me in
Keep the content coming it’s amazing
Your animations are great! I love your channel! Thank you for being a legend!
Gives me nostalgia of watching a video about Mothman when i was younger. Thank you.
These videos bring me such absolute joy, thank you guys so much for keeping the captions! It makes me so absolutely happy to be able to actually understand what’s going on without having to pull up the article on the side.
Does the mothman cause disasters or predict them?
My guess is that it predicts them. (because of the time-traveling thing)
Predicts them. Its said in the mythology that its acting as an omen or "warning" for disaster. Its also not hostile and never attacks people. But if you do see him its best to keep your eyes peeled since its a sign a bad event is coming for you
I love that he could just draw a black mass with red eyes but no he went the extra mile to draw and paint the entire thing and add shadows butbwe can see his entire body.
Awesome, Dr. Bob! And I stand with you on holding out hope, for the existence big foot & the Loch Ness monster!👍🤟👏😎
Thank you for letting the couple live!
As a WVian born and raised. The history i have with point pleasant is thats where my ex goth gf lived. Its a nice place.
Also kudos on making it look like the statue.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how much time and effort he puts in the videos for us 😇
You're a Legend DR BOB !!!!!!
It's not just the animation that's amazing but the story telling and setting he creates surrounding the SCPs
First,
off by 1 second 💀
No by one Second you’re not
'It changes shape to scare humans'. Like the human sized bug with blood red eyes wasn't scary enough.
I really loved the Twin Peaks easter egg, I'm not sure if I should just go ahead and reveal it or not because it's only on screen for a quick second. To hell with it lol, it's when the first couple in the car at the beginning pull up to the sheriff's station, it is exactly like the sheriff's station in Twin Peaks, the sign is the same, even the single curved light fixture above the sign, I can't believe I noticed it, but I did sure enough. . .that's an awesome and unexpected easter egg if I do say so myself. Oh yeah the design and artwork done in this is top notch, some of the best currently dealing in the SCP subject. . .
The voice and storytelling is crisp. Idc how many scp’s there are. Keep the videos coming
I love those types of SCPs, where they're not as they look, and the deeper you go with the access levels, the more sinister they get. There's a few like that and they're all fascinating. Excellent work as usual.
The animations at the start are so beautiful! Excellent job, Dr Bob!
Dr Bob really does have the best narrator voice ever, keep up the amazing work!
I love the prelude stories to give an idea on what would happen to an ordinary person encountering it.
Oh snap! Another Dr. Bob video! Thank you!
i like the way how the mothman just gave Dr.Bob a ride home flying him home
I love how you made it look like it's statue and not just the weird shadow mass
The animation and illustrations in this episode are remarkably good. There's lots of detail and it really captures the feeling of the situation. Good job!
Damn!!! The visuals are absolutely crazy in this one. Your videos are becoming better and better with each episode. Keep up a good job!!!
Always love watching your animations evolve and the new SCP you show are so interesting
The illustrations and animation have improved significantly. Good work!!
The people in the story look like the grown up version of the kids from the Hellbus SCP video.

Very cool animation, love the car, I had one back in the 70's, a Pontiac.
I remember his first video, it's been a great year of progress, good job Dr. Bob.
Doctor, with fall just around the corner, I don’t think this video could have come out at a better time. This creature is one of my favorites and I am so happy it’s an scp. What’s more is that you covered it, which makes it all the better. Keep up the great storytelling and animation!
This is the most favorite animation of Dr.Bob SCP
Learned of this SCP days ago and now I see this uploaded. Nice.
I'm impressed by the boost in quality that's occurred thus far. That and the speed at which they're posted are remarkable
You I never thought mothman would be both a cryptid and scp
Mothman fascinates me great video as always.
The quality of this is amazing
Props to the boyfriend for being willing to just straight up drive home.
Had a feeling this one was coming soon lets go Dr.Bob! 🔥🔥🔥
Who ever wrote this did their research.
Alot of supposedly actual events are blended in perfectly.
Dr. Bob like to believe Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster exist.
SCP-1000: "Am I a joke to you?"
Its so good now but it's only getting better. We always appreciate the work your doing.
Anyone else appreciate the sick Pontiac GTO getting a prominent role?
It just keeps getting better
The quality of your videos only gets better! Love the content
