    That little mystery button is the "Depth of Field Preview" button. Excellent video BTW!

      What does that do?

      @@lylabryce5793 It shows you what your aperture setting actually looks like. Usually, when looking through the viewfinder or at the screen, you're seeing it at the largest f-stop, not necessarily the one you want to take the photo with.
      This really matters when you're seeing something at like f2.8 but you want to shoot it at like f11. There will be so much more depth of field (stuff in focus) at f11 than at f2.8.

    My first DSLR was a Xti, the precursor to this Digital Rebel series.
    I still shoot with a t1i and 70D. They're great, unless you care about 4k video and being an influencer....But if you just care about actual photography; they're excellent even now.

    the video quality feels perfect for a 2000s amateur skate part. low res, low framerate, good color

    I just found one on eBay 10 minutes ago! It's basically new and in the original box with a lens paperwork, everything - 70.00 start bid, 1 bid 2 minutes from the end, I sniped at 6 seconds and got it for 72 Bucks!! It's beautiful! Like I don't have enough Canon DSLR's already!! MORE the MERRIER!!

      @@brandoncameracollection Ha Ha! I rather have just the regular screen. Don't think many of those moveable screens fair too well after a lot of use 👍

      How to charge the battery n how to remove it
      Please help

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Місяць тому

      @imran580m there is a latch you open on the camera to get to the battery and you’ll have to order a battery charger for it if you don’t have one. There should be one linked in the description

    Just bought a Speedlite 430exII and BG-E5 battery grip for mine. Still takes great photos and still videos.
    It was a huge step up from my AE1.

    There is a manual focus ring on the 18-55 kit lens. It's just very small, and right behind the filter threads.

    If you switch to MF on the lens barrel, then you can focus with that thin, ribbed ring on the end or the barrel. Works pretty good if you zoom in a couple times, just as you pointed out.

      I really like using the f/1.8 50mm lens which is only like $125 brand new but you can find a lot of used ones on eBay for less. I also like the 10-18mm and the 75-300mm lenses. An opteka 8mm fisheye can be fun too

    if i add a different lens , is the quality better or does the camera control the quality

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Рік тому

      Well both. You can get a really nice camera that has amazing video and pictures quality but you can also get really nice lenses that will help with the image quality of you have a low end camera. Check out the canon 50mm lens

      @@brandoncameracollection what's a kind of budget camera that would be good for sports photography

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Рік тому

      I’m not sure what your price range is but I currently own the canon m50. It’s a pretty small mirror less camera I believe it’s about $650 for the mk1. The mk2 might be a little more. But I got that camera back in 2019 and I have loved it since. You can order an adapter so you can use normal dslr lenses on it. The m50 has a bit smaller diameter lenses than canon’s traditional dslr lenses.
