Grew up in Highlandville and love nixa! Miss it all the time! I live in Northern California now. The thing I miss most about nixa is the cleanliness and the community. Several of my relatives attended nixa high school and it is top notch!!. I was out there to visit about two years ago and it was a breath of fresh air! I hope nixa continues to be a beautiful and safe place to live.
We love Nixa too!!! I feel like it has grown so much in the last few years, and it continues to grow now. It's hard to beat a small town community. I hope you like living in Northern Cali! It's so beautiful there.
If tornadoes are something you are concerned about, they have a bunch of FEMA shelters nearby that area that many would use. Give us a text at 417-200-2662 and we can chat about the options in that area!
Do you rent homes or apartments? If you don't, could you recommend some apartments (low income preferably starting out, because I'm still in school for my LPC), or any proprty management companies that could help me find some rentals? I'm already super excited to move to Nixa in 6 months, and doing my due diligence to make sure I'm making the right choice, but I'm LOVING this place so far, based on everything I've looked at.

One thing I hate about Nixa MO is a lot of the kids, and I mean the majority of them are so disrespectful. I've been all over Springfield, including the bad parts more, and I've never received so much disrespect from the kids. They harass people and restaurants all the time. Ozark is bad about that, but nowhere near as bad as Nixa. The only good thing I like about Nixa is that everything is within close walking distance. Another bad thing is the cops. The cops in Nixa pull people over for nothing all the time and will come up with a lame excuse and tell you that they didn't have to pull you over after all. When I was working at Braums in Nixa, I would watch people get pulled over all the time and watch the interactions 90% of the time, and people get pulled over for no reason.
Nixa sucks cops to aggressive following you home because out of state tag. 3 separate times for no reason except racial profiling.All they can say sorry for following you with never live there.

Another person above said, "Libs can keep moving down the road please." I can only assume that Nixa natives are making these unfriendly comments. Would all the Nixanites please compile a list of the people that are acceptable to the community. Those of us who don't pass the sniff test, we'll keep searching for a community that practices true Christian values towards all people.

How are the tornados in Nixa? Seems like a lot of homes in the $250k-$350k range do not have basements. Should that be a concern?
