One thing I hate about Nixa MO is a lot of the kids, and I mean the majority of them are so disrespectful. I've been all over Springfield, including the bad parts more, and I've never received so much disrespect from the kids. They harass people and restaurants all the time. Ozark is bad about that, but nowhere near as bad as Nixa. The only good thing I like about Nixa is that everything is within close walking distance. Another bad thing is the cops. The cops in Nixa pull people over for nothing all the time and will come up with a lame excuse and tell you that they didn't have to pull you over after all. When I was working at Braums in Nixa, I would watch people get pulled over all the time and watch the interactions 90% of the time, and people get pulled over for no reason.

9/10 not a bad list.

A Missouri friend described Missouri people as two kinds. One, are are conservative folks with stubborn beliefs and little tolerance for outside ways, but they are kind people and won't hurt you. The others are hoosiers [red- necks] who are conservative like the others but hateful and self- rightious in their rudeness. And with no pretense of being Christians.

As an Iowan, I can tell when rain, snow or tornadoes are coming. And not just by the smell, but also the aches in my body. I always thought when people said that, they were crazy. But now my knees can tell me 1-2 days ahead of time if snow or below freezing temps are coming.

My husband is from the Glenwood/Hot Springs Arkansas area and I believe there is a law in that state that makes it legal to beat your wife once a month! LOL

In Joplin Missouri, you can only have 2 garage/yard sales per year and you have to have a permit that only costs a few dollars. People have more than 2 per year and most don't buy the permit, you'll get fined though if you are caught without the permit.

Have been clotheslined and also rang the bell. It was fourth of july, someone lit a firework and I turned to run away and ran straight into the bell poll. It did ring the bell and I fell on my ass. 😂
