@@TheLongPlayUK first time I’ve seen a video from you and I agree. Great content, to the point, and no weird biased views thrown in to trash or be unrealistic about the club.. You got a new subscriber. Cheers to you both from Oklahoma USA
I think the reason they don’t care about the 9m is because on a personal basis they take chunks in credits from welcome to Wrexham before the tv show passes any money to Wrexham. My guess is that they have already recouped their up front funding. And who would deny them that.
Absolutely.. I see a lot of people put them down and say they’re just able to outspend but if their owners did the same they’d be cheering it on… I think they’ve been amazing. Great for the community and fans love it. Once they get to EFL it’s a big step up financially but I don’t foresee any issues with them still putting a competitive team out. And they’ve got unlimited connections on potential investors coming on. And as Dolly said 9 milll is a tiny price to pay for back to back promotions and further they go the revenue will greatly increase.
@AdamGee8 After the first 10 games Wrexham is is 2nd place of League 1, and Rob and Ryan aren't even the wealthiest owners in this division, it is clear that people who cry about the club only being good because the owners are rich are just envious
Thing is also the value of the club they own has increased. They not taking profits they reinvesting but if they in future sell 10-20% of the club they more than make their money back now.
The biggest thing people miss out on in this venture is that the biggest benefit is to the town itself, especially to the football supports and fans in Wrexham. It created jobs, it created tourism and gave people hope. To be stuck on the National league for many years and suddenly now they're in League One with hopes and actually good chances of eventually getting into the Championship. RR McReynolds both fell in love with football and the town and so did a lot of viewers of the TV show. I have never heard of Wrexham before this show and yet it got me searching their history and celebrating their triumph in their football games.
If more and more people are going to wrexham to watch the games they are spending on local foods, services, and hospitality. That is generating “new money” because it is from tourists rather than money from the townspeople themselves.
@@alexisrodriguez9725that’s fine. It’s been literally three seasons. They can settle in league 1 and build again. It doesn’t have to be 4 straight promotions.
R&R have brought Wrexham to the world for ‘only’ 9million. That is an achievement. Plus it’s a great story, but better than that it’s brought back quality football to Wrexham. It’s win/win all the way for the town. These guys have bought business clout to, lets face it, a non entity football club and made a success of it, it’s such a good story. Everybody loves an underdog making their story into a success and boy haven’t they done good. And it’s made me into a supporter
Dude, that was an exceptional video! Insightful, well structured, factual data presented (rare these days) and superbly delivered. Happy I stumbled across this. Good job!
Love how you put these videos together. As for Rob and Ryan. This is just the investment stage to get Wrexham where they want them. If the debts were just football related I would be worried as it wouldn’t be sustainable. They are however making money via other companies media and other brands they own etc. which are linked to the club. So long as the debt is covered by the clubs overall value they are fine. Club has to be worth £10-15 million today. They are, so far, excellent business people. Time will tell if football turns them into crazy business people, as it has in the past with many other owners. Keep up the great videos.
Appreciate the kind words. Revenues are healthy, they have multi-year commercial deals in place and they have ownership of the stadium back. I am not an analyst by any means but I think your valuation may be a little conservative! Lets see how the next few years pans out.
Wow, I’m completely blown away by your video in the most amazing way. Facts, clear cut, no BS. Thoroughly enjoyed it. You definitely earned a sub. Keep at it.
The end game is to sell. It's not about how much profit you make, it's about what you're worth. Lots of valuable companies lose lots of money but that's fine because a large chunk of the value is completely subjective and based on opinion. The real question is whether 9m in losses is within the business plan.
They already addressed this months ago on podcasts, radio interviews and UA-cam interviews. Their business plan is going amazing. Their only issue moving forward is they will need to bring outside investment for the Prem. They already acknowledged this and are putting the infrastructure in place to grow. They've been transparent about all of it. They've also been investing much of those "losses" into a women's team, stadium infrastructure, community infrastructure and outreach and youth. They could've comfortably invested more into players this year. They're doing great, which I think many find frustrating. Turns out networking and transparency does in fact work.
Yes. It's part of the investment into the club to get to at least the Championship where you can earn a decent buck as fast as possible and then plan for the Premier League push. Eventually i think they will sell if they get bored, but so far i think there's a lot of things they are enjoying about owning a football club in Wales.
Nice mate - really interesting content delivered awesomely. Can't wait to see where it goes. Rob and Ryan won't be around forever, so will be interested to see what gets put in place to secure their longevity.

I watch a lot of UA-cam and wanted to say mate you stand out. Such good quality jounalism and to the point. Your format is great. Hope to see you succeed even more!
One key thing is that not only would Wrexham be worth hundreds of millions if they were to make it to the Premier League ... they were bought for a 2 million investment and would TODAY be worth 10 million or more if sold, so the capital gains of the club are keeping pace with the amount "owed" to the co-owners. While they are going to make a push for the playoff spots at the very least, so spending on players will rise again, I expect the 5 million pound loss is going to go down -- not just from the growth in sponsorship income, but also from a move of their kit to a first tier sports merchandiser. For the last two seasons, Wrexham shirts were constantly sold out.
I recorded this before the announcement of the investment in Homage. Another shrewd move which will allow them as you say, to benefit even more from their massive retail presence. Theyve also announced another US Pre-season tour where they'll face Chelsea again and likely Necaxa too. The kit manufacturer deal is a sound one.

As a Cardiff it's great to see another Welsh team on the rise as it would improve our footballing standards with 3 teams in the high English pyramid. As a Welshman I am even more grateful to Rob and Ryan for investing in them and making Wrexham into a attraction (not just in football either).

Really awesome video, man. I know nothing about the financials of running a football club but appreciate the concise way you broke everything down. Subbed!
What an interesting topic. I live in America, but I love football (NewCastle), but I have really started to follow Wrex the last couple of years by watching the TV show. You do a great job explaining things. Thanks my friend and I will be subscribing!!!

Love your content man , I as a loyal wxm fan still have to pinch myself sometimes at how our fortunes have changed in the space of 3-4 years , no community deserves it more though , been through hell and back on and off the pitch over the last 20 years before Rob and Ryan came.
Thank you Brad 🙏🏾 Can’t imagine how good it feels to see success now. How do you fancy your chances in League 1 this upcoming season? Think you’ll contend for promotion?
i think something important to note with rob and ryan’s return on investment is they may not be making money but its like anyone else spending money on something they enjoy. they seem to have found a lifelong love and passion for the club that even if that 9mill down turns into 19mill overtime, they could potentially still see it as a positive. they said in the documentary that they want the club to become sustainable but they aren’t in it to make money
The two owners are making money from the TV show, and I imagine they have pocketed over 9 mil from rhe show. Doubt that they have lost even a penny so far.
Wrexham football ball club was on its knees and on its last legs. Ryan and Rob came along and saved the club they put time and money in the club. Most of all the Town (City) has a great buzz and the fans are full of hope. I remember watching Wrexham v Blackpool a good few years back Blackpool managed to get into the Premier .! Back to back promotions are fantastic and a lot of people with the old green eyed monster and now a kitchen table accountant giving his pennies worth.😂
The championship is another beast, full of historic clubs, parachute payment clubs all with massive and well established fan bases. You can’t outspend other clubs with their current budget.
I’d like to see a breakdown of the taxes. But they’re helping other teams make money too. When Wrexham are away the games usually sell many more tickets and that also good for the local vendors and the taxes that come with that.
Wrexham fan here. First game was back in 1974. I m hoping another back to back promotion this season. But top half would be more realistic. We could easily fill 20-25,000 stadium every game
Think that in football terms, the next stage will be much harder for Wrexham. Yes they've had 2 promotions but this is mainly because they had the financial muscle to build a squad of players many from higher divisions. That gave them an advantage but higher up the leagues money doesn't always equate with success. And they were the biggest club (more or less) in those divisions but in League 1 they won't be. It all depends on who they can bring in. The manager and structure of the club. This will have to change. And yes Luton, Fulham etc. have gone up to the top but for every one of them there's a Birmingham or Oldham going the other way.
3:25 Would have been a better comparison to state the three clubs Wrexham got promoted with, which was: - Stockport County - Mansfield Town - Crawley Town (who dicked MK Dons 8-1 in the play-offs, yet whose budget was one of the lowest in the league)
Got to remember, all of the financial figures still relate to when Wrexham were still in non-league. Got big infrastructure costs to come though in new stand, training ground and academy training facility, non of which go against ffp. Be interesting to see how the figures stack up to last season. Well done for highlighting Wrexham do not directly receive money from the Disney series.
Well researched, just one thing. You said you can't wait for the next season of 'welcome to wrexham' to see their promotion from efl2 to efl1. That season has just finished last week...
Just found your channel. Well done video and a needed deep dive into the business side for us fans. As a lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan and a casual soccer fan most of my life (starting with George Best and the San Jose Earthquakes), the 49ers' investment in Leeds United has resulted in growing popularity for Leeds due to the 49ers large fanbase, albeit not quite the rocket ride that Wrexham has experienced. Best of luck to a talented host as your channel will surely grow quickly as well.
I hope so I appreciate the kind words. I’ve touched on the US ownership in the Premier League before (one of my earlier videos) but I soon want to do a specific deep-dive into the owners who own both an NFL team AND a Premier League team and see who’s doing the “best”. Glazers vs Kroenke vs Boehly vs 49ers vs FSG if you will. One day perhaps 😅
Thank you Jordan. I found this very informative. I bought merch cos I love what is happening at Wrexham, I live in Aussie. The exchange rate hurt! lol It's the community and the desire for the community to rebuild and prosper that's captured my heart. The show is great viewing and maybe one day, I will be able to watch a game in the stands.
Maybe the question you need to ask here is what other financial benefits do the owners gain from this club in their portfolios. When you consider where Reynolds makes his money, showing that they can build a brand this way is probably an incredible example to potential clients that they can build a global footprint effectively. Wrexham has only ever been a vehicle to advertise their expertise in this field. Most likely every loan is a write off against the revenue generated within Reynolds business whilst at the same time creating an appreciating asset at what amounts to no cost.
Investment in quality players and improved facilities is not losing money, it is a dedicated commitment to the future and continued success for The Red Dragons.
To state the obvious, they could recoup their investment and more should Wrexham reach the Championship and it would equate to pennies on the pound if they went on to win promotion to the Premiership... The team has done well to come so far in such a short space of time and the owners, who seem genuinely emotionally invested but remember they are actors, deserve huge credit for that. Relatively speaking though, this is the easy part. They'll find life a lot tougher, both on and off the pitch, in the Championship which is generally considered to be one of the most competitive leagues in the world and the kind of money required to pay for next level infrastructure and players with no guarantee of promotion to the promised land might change the equation. Disney aren't going to pay for five seasons of Championship football and without the exposure of the TV show, they'll struggle to attract sponsors like American Airlines.
You briefly mentioned the revenue that is generated by the Welcome to Wrexham series. But of course as that is a privately held company in the United States, no one really knows how much profit it generated there. I would suspect when that revenue is added in, Rob and Ryan are still making more money than they are spending. This more than just an expensive hobby for them, both are smart businessmen and have found a way to balance costs vs overall revenue.
Goated video mate, but just a tip, the audio is a little seire sometimes when u move and talk, the sound goes low for a few microseconds… but hold what a video
Good content. One mistake, however - If memory serves, Tozer was signed in the 2021(edit) pre-season, along with Jones and Mullin. You had him joining in the winter transfer window, with Palmer.
Hey bro, I think you should cap the noise limit. When you say the letter P i actually hear pops. I wear headphones so I hear it pop more especially the first 30 sec of the video
The success and brand have helped Rob to enhance and secure projects. So on a paper a loss for them in the short term is worth the gamble and if they sell the club they will make a profit.
Fast paced, punch delivery, clear, well researched. Not a fan boy. Good journalistic style. Very nice indeed.

- Stockport County
- Mansfield Town
- Crawley Town (who dicked MK Dons 8-1 in the play-offs, yet whose budget was one of the lowest in the league)
Loved the video keep it up! Your newsletter doesn't seem to be working!
Fantastic content. Well done
I think they have a women’s team as well now.
Well researched, just one thing. You said you can't wait for the next season of 'welcome to wrexham' to see their promotion from efl2 to efl1. That season has just finished last week...
Great content Jordan!!!
My man, thank you Nick. Glad you enjoyed 🙏🏾
great vid. love the breakdowns
Good luck to Wrexham. Would be great to watch them grow to become a big club.
Great channel. Best of luck!
Thank you Scott 🙏🏾
Maybe the question you need to ask here is what other financial benefits do the owners gain from this club in their portfolios. When you consider where Reynolds makes his money, showing that they can build a brand this way is probably an incredible example to potential clients that they can build a global footprint effectively. Wrexham has only ever been a vehicle to advertise their expertise in this field. Most likely every loan is a write off against the revenue generated within Reynolds business whilst at the same time creating an appreciating asset at what amounts to no cost.
Great video and great channel! Subscribed ✔️
Investment in quality players and improved facilities is not losing money, it is a dedicated commitment to the future and continued success for The Red Dragons.
Great video thanks. One thing, do they have any issues with the rules on 'financial fair play' if they run at a loss?
The Disney money has to be significant. Ryan is a tier one star and brand. It's important to know this figure to get a complete picture.
Goated video mate, but just a tip, the audio is a little seire sometimes when u move and talk, the sound goes low for a few microseconds… but hold what a video
they have also said that they want to eventually upgrade the other 3 sides of the stadium
Great video man, thank you
Good content.
Useful feedback, I am here for any improvements. Thank you
The success and brand have helped Rob to enhance and secure projects. So on a paper a loss for them in the short term is worth the gamble and if they sell the club they will make a profit.
