Their star players should really play 1-2 divisions higher at least, which tells you a bit of how big their pull is compared to the rest. Still, they've clearly shown that they're dedicated to success. I just hope the marketing doesn't become bigger than the club, cause it's the oldest active club and has a rich history which the fans surely want to stay connected to.

Where I work in Spain, I had a couple of season ticket holders from Wrexham in today and I asked them how it was going with the new owners? They love Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney! They said you were the best thing to ever happen to the club (they have a serious love for Blake Lively who has come to the games to cheer them on as well!)

They guys are great and have been good for Wrexam and brought attention to all the lower divisions. But really the star is just UK football and the fans. Their passion. The promotion battle. The relegation battle. Pub life. It’s the backbone of Ted Lasso and it’s what drives this show. It’s hard to draw parallels with US sport because they really just have the football. Rugby and cricket are great and have passionate fans but they are distant second and third to football. And the football is just the club system, there isn’t a college league that’s at all relevant. So it all gets concentrated and amplified into football. That’s what they have captured with the show.
Ryan has such a magnetic personality that it even makes Rob seem quiet in this. Although, on the Sunny podcast, he also speaks the least... so maybe I'm just a baked idiot.
I like how Ryan lets Rob take center stage with the Wrexham stuff because Rob's passion is what makes it work. That's not to say Ryan does not care because he clearly does, but I don't think this project gets off the ground without Rob.

Interesting the concept of relegation/promotion is alien in the US sporting leagues. There must be no jeopardy to get anxious/excited about
The jeopardy is when you support a local team your entire life, then another city comes and offers the league massive money. So they say "Sorry Oakland, Vegas gave us a better deal. Forget history, the Raiders are moving there and there's nothing you can do about it"
The concept of the league owning the teams if baffling to me. It's like Sadiq Kahn offering the FA 2billion and a shiny new stadium to move Man United to London. Mental.
