You guys are missing the lead story. R&R are selling shares in their venture fund. So wrexham afc is the promotion vehicle (via docu), and the value will be from brand building (maybe future selling). By doing this, they can raise big money that is disconnected from solely football club valuation. In summary; can raise huge money (think stadium, academy fuel) with less equity share since the pie is much bigger beyond the club

It’s vertical integration, as Jack Donaghy would say. Football club does well? People drink more Wrexham lager. Club does poorly? People drink more Wrexham lager. Win-win vertical integration

@@Cybren2000- exactly. And externally (to investors), it's a platform investment, which is always more interesting because it can be diversified more easily.

Much like city did. The money isn't coming from the club it's coming from the investment fund who owns some of the club.

I'm pretty sure that the Wrexham Lager chant played some part in their decision to invest in the brewery - free advertising every game even if they no longer sponsor the yale stand.

Great to see ethical investors onboard .. Welch Allyn .. Cae Ras is just a mile and a half away from the Welsh Alyn ... (that's a river, folks)

Sounds like it's been rough for Harrogate based on the guest, always appreciate the opponent perspective. Anything can happen though, and I hope Wrexham advances.

I don't think Rathbone has learned to work with the team, yet, and visa versa. I expect that to change if he gets more time on the pitch. I love George Dobson, but he did get the benefit of being included in the starting XI immediately. Yes, he did gel with the rest of the team very quickly (it is like he played with the team last season in L2) but Rathbone didn't get the same experience. To me, if a manager is going to recommend to owners to spend £500K on a player, but then chooses to not make that player a regular starter so he can learn to work with his new team, the manager has to take some responsibility for the player's less than ideal performance.

Smart move, and I'm sure Rob and Ryan would have ensured the investors are similar like them - nice people, community minded

Good luck to you as a Blues fan its what they put in that will count not kindness and being very nice, they will need to invest a lot but for a minority share, also have Wrexham gone into profit yet?

Wrexham is not a big club and never will be.They, like all football clubs, will continual to lose money and the higher they go,the more they will lose. That's football.Whether the owners lose money or not depends when they bail out, there is usually another sucker willing to buy a club and waste more money.I have nothing against Wrexham and good luck to them, except for Mcclean ,but this is the reality of football economics.

I absolutely get it; from season 2 of WTW it seemed to me that a number of Rob & Ryan's 'guests' were more likely potential investors.
Nevertheless I have bought my last Wrexham shirt as they don't need my money any longer; proud to wear their gear on the other side of the world when it was about supporting a mob of Celt battlers, now it's becoming more like the opposite of an underdog and especially outside england, almost de rigeur for the type of human I don't find I have anything in common with, I'm much less interested.
Not that I bear anyone any ill will. What is happening is a feature of 21st century capitalism not a bug. My biggest concern is that "The Turf" gets knocked down in the renovations, stadium improvements or whatever & becomes a vip lounge for select members only.
The destruction of public bars in public houses is an anathema and I understand why Wayne Jones was one of the first cabs off the rank regarding supporting the new owners, yet it is a pub and as such part of a community which shouldn't ever be deliberately cast aside.
