I love the sound of Cantonese
As a hongkonger, thank you!
Cantonese does not sound forceful. I love the sound of it. I find Mandarin sounds much harsher. But I like it as well :)
We say "Ah" in Portuguese pronounced the same way
Luisa, you are great, makes learning Cantonese much more interesting. I struggle to read the with the Chinese spelling for pronunciation.
Love this! Please keep it coming! I love Cantonese, I wish I could speak some....

It’s made me even baffled...
So, the word for Westerners is interpreted as either 'supra-natural beings', or 'spies'?
... Actually, calling Western Europeans "white" is the same thing. The general European word would be "blank", "blanc", "blanco", etc., as in, "Do you want a lined, or blank piece of paper?" A synonym (fragmented into apparent homophones) the spellings of "white", "wight", and "witch*", basically meaning a ghostly, banshee like apparition. Saying, "You look white as a ghost," is technically redundant. It should be, "You look as blank as a wight."
[Why is "witch" up there? Ask Roy Lichtenstein. While it's common now to pronounce "wight" as "white", old pronunciations include the guttural similar to "Lich-tenstein". You're also dealing with a time when speech, versus spelling, reading, and consonant clusters were up for grabs. (Now go look up the definition of "lich".)]
Oh! Interesting! Love this program!! Let's speak Cantonese loudly and proudly!
