Miles Kvndra | Digitone Techno Jam No. 6

- Опубліковано 31 гру 2020
- Hi friends and happy new year! To kick off Jamuary 2021 here is Digitone Techno Jam No. 6: It’s a combination of 2 different ideas that I merged into one jam - many of the sounds are from my new Digitone sound pack that you can find here: gumroad.com/l/mileskvndra_dig...
As always all sounds are coming straight out of the Digitone and are recorded into my Olympus LS-5. Some fine tuning in iZotope Ozone - and we’re good to go! Happy to hear what you think.
Have an awesome new year,
Miles

I really like the transition starting at 03:07, turning into the next pattern at 03:15. This is very well done mate!
Wow, many thanks mate! Great to hear you like the transition, your feedback means a lot. I'm a huge fan of your videos, great to see that you're at it again! :)
One of the most organic sound I've ever listen out of a Digitone.
Great sound design and performing!
Wow that’s a great compliment! Thanks a bunch, I had a lot of fun doing the sound design for this. In general I think the DN is amazing for sound design :)
@@MilesKvndra I’m owner of an Analog Four and it is great, but the compact concept of Digitone and its useful UI is still very interesting to have. Also it is able to provide fat sounds usually listened on analog synths.
@@music4screens yeah it definitely is! With the drive it provides it can sound quite nice and warm
This is great - shows how great a groovebox the Digitone is.
It absolutely is! Loving the Tone a lot for the sequencing power :)
There are very many impressive elektron jams out there, but this was a truly musical set. This could easily have been a live set, or a piece on an album. Without the video, no one could have guessed this came entirely out of the digitone. Really impressive!
Wow, thank you Daniel! That is an amazing feedback that I highly appreciate! It's actually part of my latest live jams EP over on Bandcamp, which makes it kind of a piece of an album haha. Cheers!
Excellent, you have really mastered this machine.
Thanks Georges! Great to hear but there is still a lot to learn every time I'm using it :)
it seems like you created more than 4 tracks! wow im impressed
Thank you! Yeah the Digitone has a bunch to offer, it sounds very full especially when you use the delay
I can't believe this is just 4 Tracks. Sounds amazing and realy inspiering.
Cheers Nils, happy to hear that it's inspiring! Yeah the sequencer power of the Digitone can make these tracks sound way more than just 4.
This is gold!! 🔥💥
Cheers man, appreciate it!
stunning~
Thank you! 😍
really enjoy what u are doing with this little box..... sounds really amazing. genius !
Hey, thanks again! Really happy to hear that you dig it - cheers!
@@MilesKvndran
amazing miles, what a way to kick off the year 🙏
Thanks so much, Yakov! Jamuary 2021 is real :)
Love it!
Thank you, Ronni!
awesome ! well done dude !!!
Thanka dude! Appreciate it 🙌
sick !!! 🔥
Thanks a bunch - glad you dig this jam too! 🙌🏻
next level
Thank you! 🙏
man this is incredibly dope!
Cheers Ponkie! Happy to hear that you like it and thanks for reaching out!
Yeah! I’m loving this one. Great dynamics and the transitions to/from the alternate idea really work well - it’s like a journey that resolves beautifully. You’re developing a “signature” sound too, which is a great thing to have. This one is 💪🏻
Hey James, thanks a lot that is so cool to hear! Yeah I really like a certain sound type and I'm happy that you can hear it in my jams. Just hope that this will still work when putting the Digitone and the Digitakt together 😁
Brilliant
Cheers, appreciate your comments!
ou ou ou! so great and inspiring! thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! Great to hear that this is inspiring
That was good!
Thank you!
Nice job!
A masterpiece!
I really like the bass line!
Thanks a bunch, Darryl! Appreciate the feedback. :) Yeah that bassline sound is one of my favourites on the Digitone!
In awe! Bravo!
Thanks Ben! Appreciate it 🙌
brilliant performance!
Cheers Elie! Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it!
Awesome full DT jam!
Thanks a lot, Thundergate! Happy to hear that you like it :)
Excellent jam, well done
Thanks Frank much appreciated. 🙏🏻💚
Miles! Awesome start of the New Year! Thanks for sharing the set. Good vibes 🤩
Cheers man! Wishing you a great start into 2021 and always good vibes!
Really tight - the drum mix is so well under control! Also great that you have used some of your sounds again but reimagined the melodic composition in a totally new way! Probably my favourite from the jams so far. Fresh Cuckoo shirt too!
Thank you so much mate! Really happy to hear your thoughts and that you like the drums. I'm always surprised how clean they sit in the "mix" when working DN only. And nice that you've seen the Cuckoo shirt haha. Looking forward to listen to your video later! :)
So good
Thank you Karlis!
SOLID!
Thank you, Ricardo!
This is like a hidden gem. Very happy i found your channel!
Thank you so much Adem! That is so cool to hear, great that you're here! :)
Very nice sounds, cool
Thank you! Keep up your jams too
man ! dope track ! groove & bassline blow my mind !
Thanks a lot for the feedback! I really really appreciate that, great to hear that you like the track! 😍🙏🏻
Great jam, great t-shirt.
Cheers Richard! Cuckoo did a great job on the shirt design.
best digitone live i ever sow :-O
Thank you, Konstantin! Glad to hear that you like it :)
Thanks, Miles, just purchased your time and efforts, love those bases :)
Awesome to hear - thanks for your feedback, Mr. Brotherman! 🙏🏻🙂
Really great performance Miles! I love the transitions
Thanks a bunch mate! I really appreciate it
Master of transitions. Rarely do I go to a video for the second time. Really dig the sound. 👍
Thanks a lot, Jakub! Really appreciate that you came back to it for a second listen :)
Amazing jam, and the fact that it's all from one box makes it even more impressive!
Hey, thank you very much for your feedback! I find the Digitone pretty amazing as a standalone synth, the limitations really boost creativity.
wow! it is so impressive, great sound
Thank you so much Danil! Really happy to hear your feedback - cheers and happy music making! 🙏🏻
Nice transitions and of course nice sounds…Clo 😉👏
Hey Clo, super nice to see you here and thanks for the feedback! Happy that the sound pack is finally working for you 🙂
Danke!
Vielen Dank dir, auch für den Support. Das weiß ich sehr zu schätzen 🙏🏻💜
Ohhh this sounds great Miles! Love what you're able to create with just the Digitone.
Thank you mate! It's a stunning device on it's own indeed
Better every jam and always inspiring!! 🙏
So inspiring I will be bringing Digitone back into the family today! 😀 you were right - I should not have traded it.
Hahaha thank you mate! And glad to hear you've come to your senses. 😁
Hey friend, your growth is unstoppable, each track better than the previous one! 👏
Thanks mate and congrats again on 1k subs! Currently learning how to use the DT+DN combo together so there will be a break in the next videos haha
you are really awesome
Thank you!
Absolutely amazing man! I was in two minds about getting a Digitakt in addition to my Digitone and you have sold me. Thank you so much for the transition tutorials. I can’t wait to get into all of that!
Hey Johann, so happy to hear that! If you already enjoy the Digitone, I think you'll love this combo a lot! 😎 Cheers
That’s the way to use it , pretty nice 👍🏼
Thanks Arnold. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much to your videos and inspirations. YES = excellent, nice set & great = How GREAT a groovebox the Digitone is ! GOOD LUCK & TAKE CARE .
Hey Cti, thank you so much for the feedback - appreciate your kind words! And yeah you're right, the Digitone is a beast of a groovebox! :)
This slaps so freaking hard
Thanks a bunch Jamie! 💚🙏🏻
Dude this is actually sick!! Really awesome 👏
Thanks a bunch dude! The Digitone on it's own can be pretty powerful
@@MilesKvndra definitely! I am looking into getting an Elektron device as well...can't decide between the analog rytm and the digitakt...
Really great job. I love how you are playing around with the same sounds in your different jams. I'm almost jealous of the simplicity using only one instrument while having multiple good one :)
Thanks Kevin! These sounds inspire me so I just keep coming back to them :) And using only one machine and trying to push it to the limits is really cool. I also get overwhelmed quickly by more than one machine at the same time, the amount of dials confuses my brain haha 😁
Sounds amazing. So inspirational to watch you jam, and those build-ups to every high-energy transition are absolutely epic. I've only used mine a few times yet. I absolutely love the sound of it, but I don't expect ever to achieve your proficiency with it as I am not sure I'll dedicate enough time for that. So far I've mostly done some more or less random sonic exploration, which is great fun.
Cheers Hakon, really appreciate your feedback! Yeah it takes a lot of time to get into it but I find it really rewarding. And random sound exploration works great as well!
Great jam, man! Incredible sounds.
Love the brassy-moogish one around 2:00 and on.
Thank you, Halorama! Really like that sound too it's one of my favourites on the Digitone
Excellent. Powerful and catchy. HQ performance.
Thanks a lot mate - for commenting here and on Instagram. 😁
It's amazing what you can do with 4 tracks. It's fantastic looking forward to seeing the Digitakt/Digitone couple in your hands. Happy New Year and keep up the great jamming!
Yeah it absolutely is! The sequencer on the Digitone is so powerful. Still figuring out the best way to get the Tone/Takt combo going but I'm making progress :)
Nice drop at 3.20 awesome!!!
Hey Jay, thanks again! Yeah I like how this transition turned out in the end. It was initially the start of another jam but then I decided to merge them together and the result was surprising. 😁
Miles....gigantisch, was du aus der einen einzigen Kiste rausholst. Best Jam. 😍👍
Danke dir, Andreas! Freut mich sehr zu hören und Happy Jamuary :)
Man kilt this
Thank you Louie!
Nice Jam, you should consider showing the face of the equipment. This way we could learn what you are doing. At least in a corner or something. Good vibes
Cheers Thiago! Yeah in my newer jams I tried to work with a second camera angle too, to show what's going on. But I also share some sketches here on the channel, which are filmed top down. And btw if you are interested how this jam is made, I did a walkthrough on this which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/6WlfE7LZbq8/v-deo.html
Cheers and great day to you!
@@MilesKvndra Thanks for the feedback, awesome video.
Loving that DAFT PUNKesque lead.
As I really like Daft Punk that means a lot - cheers!
You are the 4 tracks King ! Really great what you produce with that Digitone.
And your transitions are really GREAT !!!
Waiting for Digitone Techno Jam 7 😉 (alone)
Cheers Multi Pactor! Currently having way too much fun sound designing on the synth but maybe in the future. 💚
Yes!!
Cheers Karl!
Happy new year, Miles!
Wow dude!
Cheers dude! Thank you for listening 🙏
@@MilesKvndra your skills are what I aspire to!
I’d love to watch this jam from an overhead shoot perpective....Can’t wait to watch the breakdown!!!!!!
Thank you, friend! Yeah I've thought about using two different camera angles for my jams as well but I'm lacking the needed equipment here. Maybe sometime in the future :) And great to hear that you're in for the breakdown! Feel free to join the premiere this Friday and have a chat!!
absolutely flawless.. great sounds .. i dont think ill sell mine now just try get into it a bit more , those basses , i remember why i bought it now .. thank you
Thank you Ryan, that is great to hear! I think the Digitone is really worth giving a second try. Great standalone synth and amazing in other setups too!
great great! don't forget to participate to #jamuary this year!
Thanks a bunch Dave! Yeah I'll see what I can contribute. :)
and you taught me use my digitone
That's great to hear! More tutorials are planned in the future :)
🔥
🙏
Could easily be an einmusik/Jonas saalbach track. Amazing stuff mate, happy new year!
Wow, thank you! That's a huge compliment, really love both artists
Very inspiring! Thanks for sharing. Wish I could see your Digitone interface to follow what you’re doing.
Thanks Michael! I'm mostly triggering fill mode and controlling filter cutoff, the global delay feedback and the LFO's depth. But I've thought about adding a second camera or doing a top down recording of a jam, not sure yet :)
Nice set! Every time I feel gear-lust for some new kit, I force myself to watch one of your videos to remind myself that I am still not achieving the potential of the gear I have, and it usually stops me from buying something. My wife has no idea, but you have saved us a lot of money. Just out of curiosity, what is going on with the corner of your table?
Hahaha this one is great! Glad to hear that my video also useful for your purse and marriage 😁
That table was already broken when it arrived in my flat. Had the opportunity to get a new one or keep this and get a refund and as it was occasionally only planned as a second workplace it was fine for me. Didn't plan to use it as a jamming table but it makes a good job (regardless of the corner) :)
@@MilesKvndra Thanks. Every picture tells a story. I too wondered about the table. "It was already broken" is also a story - not as interesting, maybe, but still true.
@@raytbrown2 thanks a bunch Ray for the kind words. This table still is used in my flat and I still like it even if it is broken. Not use it for jams anymore but good memories :)
@@MilesKvndra Yeah, but a a music maker, you need to "help the story" along. There needs to be a girl. A crazy night. Maybe a drunken neighbor. All the good things that explain why there is a broken part of your table. Or, it was delivered by the grandson of Roy Orbison, who smashed it against the wall while hauling it up the stairs -- either way, a story. :-)
@@raytbrown2 haha I like your story approaches! And you're right, storytelling is so important
Easily the best digitone jammer online. Wow
Huge thanks for your nice words, pal! The feedback is highly appreciated but if it comes to best Digitone jammers I would go with Ivar Tryti or ylva trax. Fantastic musicians!
@@MilesKvndra Ylva’s hands are magical. I love his juke tracks like eeloou.
The world needs more juke like Ital Tek in the Hyper Real EP or Machinedrum’s remix of Eyes Down. Ivar is a legend too.
Seriously though, for techno, you’re the guy.
Very nice. Most impressive 1 box jam since Kid Schurke on the monotribe :)
Wow, thank you! 🙏 Which of his sessions do you mean?
@@MilesKvndra they are all good arent they? :)
The ZLUT club live one is particularly good though 🔥
@@aikighost only know a few of them I think I need to revisit some of them. Thanks for the tip! :)
@@MilesKvndra ua-cam.com/video/rhmtnqYpAIo/v-deo.html
@@aikighost nice! Will check that
Awesome jam dude !! Really mastering that melodic techno style !!
Love the bodzin inspired track :)
Would you consider making a track breakdown, especially how you do those two arpeggios that are answering each other ?
Thanks dude, appreciate the feedback! :) And absolutely, that's definitely on my list as one of the next videos after Jamuary. A lot of people reached out and asked for a breakdown. Will cover the arps too and think about a good structure for that. Have a great weekend!
@@MilesKvndra thanks for the answer mate, will definitely wait for that one :)
Keep the good job, love the music and all the tips you give :)
would love another tutorial from you on how you manage to make full jam re voice stealing and the digitone -- this almost sounds like you have 2 digitones going. amazing.
Thanks Ryan! There's actually not so much that I do about it. I think the biggest secret is limiting the bass to only one voice and not using any chords. Chords are stealing at least 3 voices at once and this is too much when you want to make a jam Digitone only
@@MilesKvndra you rock!
Actually. Boris, sorry. Miles number 1.
Huge thanks Elder Void! 😍 Boris is someone to look up to for me 💚
Make sure you check out his album! I found it on Amazon Music.
Thanks for checking it out mate. It's on all major music streaming services :)
Another great jam Miles; really enjoyed this one. In your jam workflow, is the Olympus recorder a better option than say an iPad with AUM?
Hey Daryl, that's a good question as I've never recorded to an iPad. But I really like the Olympus, although it's a bit outdated the line input is very clean and records the signal perfectly. Getting similar same results as with my Audiofuse interface into Ableton which I use for my tutorials. So long story short: a mobile recorder is great for these jams but I've no experience using my phone or an iPad for that - could be a great solution too!
I need to know how to do this on my digitone
Hey Devin, I have a walkthrough about this jam that could be interesting for you: ua-cam.com/video/6WlfE7LZbq8/v-deo.html
🙋♂️👌🖖
🙌🙏
thats good but how do you do a longer set on these machines
Thank you! Currently working on a longer set: I use each bank as one song/jam and then try to make transitions between them. This way you can do longer livesets
How do you record?
Hey Adrian, I have an old mobile recorder (Olympus LS-5) that is connected directly to the Outs of the Digitone. Here I record the jam as a whole and do some post processing in Ozone 9.
how bpm dood?
This one is at 118 bpm
