Remember that scene in the season 2 finale where that woman from 8 Fingers was mentioned to have been eaten from the inside out and was healed, "Roach Coach" did that. Coincidentally, the rest of 8 Fingers refers to this as "baptism".
The experience is so horrific that the members of the 8 fingers who went through it feel incredibly close to one another after it since they all went through the same trauma. For anyone who says, "but wait, didn't he invite them in," Ainz *never* made a single person go into Nazarick against their will. You don't get to be an Adventurer/Worker when you know you'll win ahead of time. If it was that easy, everyone would do it and there would be no risk in the job. The anime just leaves out information that details that the Workers did not care what they had to do to get paid. A few Workers, *even before they left the Empire* were hoping that there would be monsters inside the abandoned ruin so they could show off their skills. They were planning to kill for fun. When they arrived at Nazarick, a few Workers took notice that the property was too well maintained for a supposedly empty tomb. At that point they knew someone was living inside, someone who cared about the appearance of the property. Last, Nazarick is located inside Re-Estize Kingdom territory. Which means that people from the Kingdom have primary legal right to explore new found areas, which makes Workers from the Empire essentially trespassing looters. The Workers even contemplated killing any Adventurers, other humans who might come along and blame it on whatever monsters were inside the tomb. Bottom line, these weren't innocents who went in blind. They had more than reasonable suspicion that the place wasn't empty. The fact that there was so much unguarded gold in the outside mausoleums should have been suspicious enough, but they were too greedy to think clearly. The Adventurers Guild exists to prevent people from going off and doing jobs like this where they will likely do something either too dangerous, or illegal. Being a Worker means gambling with your own fate, and these ones lost.
Even further, the gold was left outside on purpose for those who wanted to just explore and be happy with the spoils they got from that. If they had just taken what was leftfor them, well, they'd not be sent to the Happy Farm. Momon even warned them that they would need to be ready to risk their lives if they want to really dungeon delve.
For anyone wondering what happened to those three Elves. Volume 10 Chapter 1 Page 54 - 55 “Aura. There is something I’d like to ask; what happened to the three Elves I left with you and Mare?” “You mean the Elves who set foot in Nazarick but who were pardoned by your mercy, Ainz-sama?” Ainz nodded. When he had drawn those workers in, he handed the Elven slaves following them to Aura and Mare. Normally, anyone who entered Nazarick without invitation would not be allowed to leave with their lives. However, they probably had not been there of their own will, and they had no intention of taking the treasures of Nazarick for their own. That being the case, it was not unreasonable to show them some measure of kindness. In addition, if they were Wood Elves, they would probably have a beneficial effect on Aura and Mare’s development. “Yes. For the moment, we’ve put them all on our Floor.” “Where are they? “Yes. How shall I say this… they have nothing to do, but keep trying to take care of us. It’s kind of annoying how they keep hanging around us.” “That, that’s right. Like, our, our clothes and so on. I, I can dress myself, but they keep coming over to help me…” “You need to pull yourself together. They keep trying to dress you because you keep acting like that. Look at me, I don’t have that problem, no?” I see, so they wish to do something. Just like the maids around me. I feel your pain, Mare. Still, that means the three people I rescued aren’t completely useless, after all. Would it be bad for former slaves to teach sex education? Hm~” “Well, we did save their lives. Don’t kill them on impulse, even if you’re mad. If you feel they’re truly troublesome, tell me and I’ll send them somewhere else.” “Got it! I’ll let you know when the time comes.” Ainz glanced at Mare, who had his head lowered, and muttered “What,” to himself. Then, he shifted a somewhat icy look to Albedo.
The funny part is that Kyouhukou ( king cockroach) might be the nicest floor guardian of them all and would listen to anyone…even if tho he says “nah” Side note: entoma is the only NPC that goes down to his floor to snack on his cockroaches from time to time ( even tho he doesn’t like it)
He’s actually an area guardian on the 2nd floor. So he’s a direct subordinate to Shalltear. The floors have a floor guardian that oversees the entire floor. But the floors themselves will have multiple area guardians on those floors. Basically, an area guardian reports and takes orders from their floor’s guardian. The floor guardians report and take orders from Ainz, or Albedo in some cases. Even then, Kyouhukou has -10 karma. The “nicest” floor guardian would be Cocytus at +50. Unless you count Sebas as a floor guardian.
Isn't he an Area Guardian? The nicest would probably have been Nigredo. But it doesn't seem like she exists in the anime. As far as area guardians. EDIT: Actually, scratch that, she was finally mentioned.
11:30 If the combined power of at least 8 guilds, about 1,500 players/mercenary NPC, didn't manage to even reach the 9th floor, you can imagine how low the chances of the workers were. The Great Tomb of Nazarick is not known as the Unconquerable Guild Base for no reason. In the game's lifespan the guild base was only conquered once, and that was when the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, took it as their guild base. Since then nobody other than them owned it.
Im starting to think the 1st-7th floor of Nazarick was just the members goofing off, making fun landscapes and silly NPCs and then the 8th floor is where shit gets REAL
It’s important to remember that everyone in those groups are “workers” essentially adventures that operate outside of the guild. This means most of their jobs involve illegal activity and come with risk since they won’t necessarily know how dangerous the job actually is. This of course means they make more money. So don’t feel bad about any of them. They know their job as workers comes with a much higher risk since “ranks” and “ranked missions” aren’t really a thing for them. They likely aren’t saints either. Participating in illegal and possibly immoral jobs.
Yep, they were almost criminals with no sense of morals in general, in fact they would have killed any civilian witnesses who were nearby to guarantee the secrecy of the mission.
Actually not all workers are criminals. Some just didn't agree with the Guild's rules. For example, it was frowned upon for adventures with healing magic to assist the sick for free because it would cut into the church's profits. Workers could bypass that. Something like that may be the reason the Crusader is a worker.
@@diostaku2 They also gave her the sympathetic backstory of trying to save her sisters. I don't remember if they gave anyone else a sympathetic backstory.
Man. I got an overlord mod for Skyrim and it was just like this. There were traps and monsters everywhere. The tomb was created realistically with whole floors being entire areas. Even had different floor guardians. Teleporting seals and everything even had these characters
This is one of my favorite episodes. I think of all the times I had a party and/or raid wipe in video games and this episode puts it in a totally different perspective.
The fate of the Workers is a good example of what happens when you have more greed than brains, they literally walked into the lion's den blinded by greed. And in fact, Ainz was going to spare them if they just took the gold and left, but no, they decided go ahead, Big Brain Time right there 😅
Fun fact: though the anime ommits this, the group that was teletransported at 6:45, ended up with Kyouhukou and Neuronist because of their "this shitty tomb" remark. The reason for this is that there is an Area Guardian, Aureole Omega, youngest sister of the Pleiades and single Human NPC of Nazarick (Immortal Human), who's directly tasked with the teleportation system of Nazarick and therefore can observe what's going on through the tomb. When the adventurers reached the rigged room and she heard their remark, she personally directed them from whichever location they were going to end up at, to 2 members of the Five Worst (an unofficial group within Nazarick). Kyouhuko is Worst Residence, and the one who Aura, Shalltear and Albedo complain in their day off; and Neuronist is Worst Occupation.
The tomb invaders story was the one I wanted them to see for so long, to know if Roshi is for or against Ainz for killing off the workers. It looks like Roshi is in full support of Ainz.
As a curious fact of the novel, those elves who kicked the idiot when he dies, in the end they end up working for Nazaric because Ains takes pity on her, they help in one of the flats, I don't remember which one, but they live quite well and happy.
The kicker is Tomb of Nazarick basically left a bowl of Halloween Candy (Treasure) at the front door and had the lights off as a warning to Adventurers not to come to a-knocking cus you're going to get rocked.
They actually say Momons name a LOT to those they capture. It's a torture tactic to show not only were they played so bad but the saviour they thought they had doesn't actually exist and is the one who is truly behind it! So it's never a slip up, it's just a way to break them mentally before the physical torture truly begins..
This mini-arc makes more sense with the start of the new season. I don't think this is really spoilers since this is like the first episode of the new season, but just in case I'll keep it under the cut-off. Ainz wanted to test the adventurers morals and reasoning. Asking them all why they took on the job was the first test. To Ainz, an adventurer would be someone who adventures, explorers that venture into the unknown, seekers of legend and glory, not mercenaries who plunder tombs and every crevice for every ounce of gold with slaves in-tow that would sell out their comrades to the highest bidder. He wanted to see what they'd do when faced with odds stacked against them. To see if they could be worthy assets, competent allies who could think for themselves, yet still be loyal and not sell-out at the mention of profit, and to a lesser extent a more friendly face for Nazarick (because right now, the face of Ainz's kingdom are hordes of undead backed by demons - Ainz's inner circle, most if not all of whom hate humans to some extent; Albedo, Demiurge, Cocytus, Shaltear, each one more monstrous than the last -, allied with monsters - the lizardmen, ogres, goblins, Hamsuke, etc. -, with traitors - Carne Village - at their sides, they don't exactly seem that friendly, and that's not even taking into account that they have the Eight Fingers by their throats).
You guys remember the woman from Eight Fingers that is now working for Ainz, the one Mare said was tortured by having her eaten from the inside out and then healed over and over? Yeah, the one you called "Roach Coach" is the one that did that.
This episode is also a good reminder that Hamsuke is actually really strong by New World standards (since *'s a legendary beast after all), and that was before Hamsuke started to fight like a warrior.
Fun fact. In the manga hamsuke did a flash or void slash and took that guys arms. After he said ill just end it now and took his head off. Anime did it better by doing it immediately after. This test Proved the training was successful and he's a warrior class so he'll be training in equiping light, then medium and eventually heavy .
Fun fact: the seal that teleported the adventurers was placed by Demiurge to send some to Roach Coach and at least one to thicc peepee unclogger as a little token of niceness towards them both. Handing a meal to Roach Coach's family and a toy for Thiccness-sama. Demiurge was literally being a bro right there.
This roach guy is the same one who tortured that female crime lord from eight fingers Mare captured last season, she also was repeadly fed to his children and healed
Not-so-fun-fact: Kyouhukou, the cockroach dude, was the one who tortured Hilma from last season (The bitch that Mare beat the shit out of by breaking her leg and pulling her hair). They basically made his familiars (his cockroach minions/family) eat her from the inside out, then healed her and then subjected her to the same torture again and again until she became submissive to the denizens of Nazarick. This experienced traumatized her so much that she can't even eat solid food anymore.
Funny thing is that each of the teams basically discovered wealth beyond their wildest dreams in the outer tombs while Ainz was still watching, and probably had one last chance to leave with their lives. That all of them decided to raid the main tomb regardless pretty much proved without a doubt the bottomless depths of their greed. They aren't robbing out of a desperate need anymore, they're robbing the place for fun.
I just wanted to say I love your guys' reactions. This is the only channel I watch for them now. I am so happy y'all redid Overlord. Im from Metro Detroit and when you said "this is Detroit" when Ains fought that dude in Carne Village, I lost it. lol. May I ask, are you going to do Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy or Arifureta? Much love and respect from Metro Detroit.
The Elf girls that were with the asshole who got served by Hamsuke where that guy's slaves and he treated them like garbage, he have them wear the minimal amount of armor possible just because other adventurers/workers would call him out on that, if it were for him he'll have them prancing around naked for all he cares and not only that but from where he comes from it's ok to treat elves like that and have their pointy ears cut as a sign of their slavery, which is the most humilliating thing anyone can do to an elf's pride. So when he got his hands cut the girls realised he had no chances surviving this so they just laughed at him out of spite and stop all heals and buffs for him, then gladly waited for him to be ended by a 5 feet tall hamster then kick his corpse afterwards.
Bold of you to assume their fates were sealed when they entered Nazarick. Their fates were sealed the moment they told Ainz that they were in it for the money. If they just said "we want to see some cool shit and kill monsters!" they *might* have lived. I honestly love that the protagonists are the "bad guys". We see too many shows follow the hero who can do no wrong, who finds a young village girl and takes her off on an adventure to save the world. About damn time we follow someone with questionable morals who only really cares about his people and would literally endlessly torture anyone who tries to take that away from him.
A bit of context with the elven girls: They were his sex slaves basically. Once he died, the elves that were forced to enter the tomb didn´t get killed or tortured, but got taken in by Ainz. They´re now working with Mare I think?
Roshi pointing and laughing as he says "Their kicking him!" The pure JOY on his face. And its so funny that they are getting tortured. Like not for info or anything just cause they wanna do it XD
8:05 that scene is the definition of death by snu snu. Btw these scenes are actally toned down and cut short because the light novel expands on the 'Hell' that the adventurers go through. Like breeding testing as well as making them training dummies, reviving and killing them over and over and over and over... you get the point
LMAO going into that tomb was the worst decision of their lives 😂 Edit: glad y'all understand how much of a problem Hamsuke's tail is. Bonked that man 😂 and no one had a good ending when they entered Nazarick I feel bad for ALL of them 😂 the roach ppl the most cause they kept getting restored just to get eaten all over again. I can't think of anything worse (maybe the urethral thing but still my god)
Worst part is ainz tested the group twice. First by asking them why they were invading the location and the second was by giving them what they said they came for which was gold and treasures left near the entrance.
WE'RE STILL THE GOOD GUYS, RIGHT!? RIGHT!? God this is always the most interesting part to watch reactions of and you guys didn't disappoint. thanks for the awesome reaction
I don't really see Hamusuke or any of the others as evil, well, at least not any more evil than humans, Hamusuke just crushed his head in the way we'd crush a cockroach
ya besides the insides of the 8 fingers poeple going through training :P and if anyone missed it the a second serving somment.. mean he going to heal them and re-eat their insides again for those that not notice :P
Ironically all the Workers in episode 7 died ironic deaths. Gringham, who was only wary of "strong monsters" was killed by thousands of weak roaches. Parpatra, who intended to use the others as bait to test the tomb's danger, was in turn used as a test for Nazarick's Old Guarders. And Erya, who refused to even give his name to Hamsuke out of arrogance, was brutalized by the slaves he mistreated and was then "erased from memory."
The sad thing is he left them gold on the outside of the outside. If they took the money and left and didn't go inside they would have been good and set for life. He will let them go.
the guy that had the elf slaves was the one that went out easy, the rest were tortured, eaten alive until near death, healed and eaten again until they eventually die.
Sad thing is that the money in that tomb wasn't a trap. It was Ainz giving them one last chance to leave with what they said they wanted: Money. If they took it and ran, Ainz would've just let them go, because at least they would have respected Nazarick's power. But nope, they had to be greedier.
"At least" isn't appropriate in this situation, Bros in Nazarick can resurrect and heal people on the blink of death so, I don't think they are getting off easily.
The roach room is where Mare drug the blonde last season, she was devoured from the inside healed by magic and the cycle repeated. All the leaders of the Eight Fingers went through this torture, and will do anything ordered by Nazarick to keep from being sent back to the roaches.
Not resurrection magic. There is a limit to that since most resurrection spells cause the target to lose levels as they come back, and once they’re too low a level their bodies would turn to dust if the spell was used on them. Instead, they’re eaten until their HP is in the red, and then they’re healed to full (which restores all body parts, something that Demiurge had discovered in his testing at his “Farms” where he chopped off people’s arms, cooked them up to serve them as meals, and healed them which re-grew the missing limbs). It’s a fate far worse than death since they’re kept alive as food-stock. Ironically, the objectively worst guy among the Workers, the slave-owning douchebag swordsman, got the most merciful end since Hamsuke just crushes his head and he gets a fairly quick death.
The elves in this episode are actually still alive Ainz gives them permission to live in the Tomb of Nazarick and they live on the 6th floor serving Aura and Mare the dark elf twins. They help with cleaning and preparing food for them and stuff like that. They are actually treated pretty well.

The thing about the roaches he said second helping so they’re bringing back to life with healing magic and getting eaten constantly

Ok
Well, everyone except those elf slaves, they had no choice, and Ainz recognized that and spared them
Even further, the gold was left outside on purpose for those who wanted to just explore and be happy with the spoils they got from that. If they had just taken what was leftfor them, well, they'd not be sent to the Happy Farm. Momon even warned them that they would need to be ready to risk their lives if they want to really dungeon delve.
Yeah no, there's no justification for torture/rape here. Thanks, but no thanks
@@captingamer29 But it seems you will justify murder and assault. Please don’t bring your hypocritical bullshit here. 😒
This episode and the rest of the season are where you realise there is a difference between Nazarick being the protagonists and being the heroes.
For anyone wondering what happened to those three Elves.
Volume 10 Chapter 1 Page 54 - 55
“Aura. There is something I’d like to ask; what happened to the three Elves I left with you and Mare?”
“You mean the Elves who set foot in Nazarick but who were pardoned by your mercy, Ainz-sama?”
Ainz nodded.
“Yes. For the moment, we’ve put them all on our Floor.”
“Where are they?
“Yes. How shall I say this… they have nothing to do, but keep trying to take care of us. It’s kind of annoying how they keep hanging around us.”
“That, that’s right. Like, our, our clothes and so on. I, I can dress myself, but they keep coming over to help me…”
“You need to pull yourself together. They keep trying to dress you because you keep acting like that. Look at me, I don’t have that problem, no?”
I see, so they wish to do something. Just like the maids around me. I feel your pain, Mare. Still, that means the three people I rescued aren’t completely useless, after all. Would it be bad for former slaves to teach sex education? Hm~”
“Well, we did save their lives. Don’t kill them on impulse, even if you’re mad. If you feel they’re truly troublesome, tell me and I’ll send them somewhere else.”
“Got it! I’ll let you know when the time comes.”
Ainz glanced at Mare, who had his head lowered, and muttered “What,” to himself. Then, he shifted a somewhat icy look to Albedo.
Bro you copy pasted whole chapter
im not reading that whole chapter, so what happened to them? They die?
@@maelpsng no, they got to live with Aura and Mare as maids
The funny part is that Kyouhukou ( king cockroach) might be the nicest floor guardian of them all and would listen to anyone…even if tho he says “nah”
Side note: entoma is the only NPC that goes down to his floor to snack on his cockroaches from time to time ( even tho he doesn’t like it)
He’s actually an area guardian on the 2nd floor.
He is quite a good guy, in fact he is a healer, now he will dedicate himself to healing the workers constantly while his family eats them.

It’s important to remember that death is a blessing in the tomb of nazarick and they really mean it
11:30 If the combined power of at least 8 guilds, about 1,500 players/mercenary NPC, didn't manage to even reach the 9th floor, you can imagine how low the chances of the workers were.
The Great Tomb of Nazarick is not known as the Unconquerable Guild Base for no reason. In the game's lifespan the guild base was only conquered once, and that was when the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, took it as their guild base. Since then nobody other than them owned it.

The only one your allowed to feel bad for is Archer

This is one of my favorite episodes. I think of all the times I had a party and/or raid wipe in video games and this episode puts it in a totally different perspective.
The fate of the Workers is a good example of what happens when you have more greed than brains, they literally walked into the lion's den blinded by greed. And in fact, Ainz was going to spare them if they just took the gold and left, but no, they decided go ahead, Big Brain Time right there 😅
Watching these adventures getting folded like clean sheets is some of the funniest material in this show.
Evil? I'd say Hamusuke was the kindest one.
By far...
That guy got off real easy compared to everyone else
"We're the good guys right?" Had me dying🤣
I love y’all so much and the overlord reactions have been helping me laugh!
Me too bro!!!!!
Oh boy gladiator pit gon be fire

The fucked up thing is that they're going to be healed and eaten/tortured over and over again.
This has to be one of my favourite episodes
What i love about this episode, and the next one, is that made many fans look at each other and ask, "Have we been cheering for the baddies?". XD
Shira reaction to the roach torture was REAL 😂
Fun fact: the seal that teleported the adventurers was placed by Demiurge to send some to Roach Coach and at least one to thicc peepee unclogger as a little token of niceness towards them both. Handing a meal to Roach Coach's family and a toy for Thiccness-sama.
Demiurge was literally being a bro right there.
7:57 "Hear me out"
This roach guy is the same one who tortured that female crime lord from eight fingers Mare captured last season, she also was repeadly fed to his children and healed
Your reactions are always one of the best, ya'll are truly the goat. Keep up the good work
And here kids, is a prime example of "F*ck Around and Find Out"
Not-so-fun-fact: Kyouhukou, the cockroach dude, was the one who tortured Hilma from last season (The bitch that Mare beat the shit out of by breaking her leg and pulling her hair).
6:31 🎶The Man In Gauze! The Man In Gauze!🎶
They´re now working with Mare I think?
the elves slave love working in there because the twins are like demigods of elves
LMAO going into that tomb was the worst decision of their lives 😂
Edit: glad y'all understand how much of a problem Hamsuke's tail is. Bonked that man 😂 and no one had a good ending when they entered Nazarick I feel bad for ALL of them 😂 the roach ppl the most cause they kept getting restored just to get eaten all over again. I can't think of anything worse (maybe the urethral thing but still my god)
They said they only wanted money. They should have just walked away with the treasure left on the lawn

"We're the good guys right?"
We may be the protagonist but we are far from the hero, we're neck deep in the villain pit.

THANK GOD
this anime cut 60% of what really happen to them in the Light novel!
Sad thing is that the money in that tomb wasn't a trap. It was Ainz giving them one last chance to leave with what they said they wanted:
Money.
If they took it and ran, Ainz would've just let them go, because at least they would have respected Nazarick's power. But nope, they had to be greedier.
On the bright side, unlike most of the invaders, those abused slave elf girls at the end got a good ending in Nazarick.
Them workers got clapped up real quick lol
Now Roshi might understand why death is a mercy in Nazarick
Remember *Death* is a *release* in Nazarick.
It was a fantastic episode. Good to see y'alls reaction.
The swordsman and a few people at the entrance got lucky... they died quickly.... or at all.
oh yeah btw, remember the chick from 8 fiingers in season 2? yeah she was sent to that roach room and got eaten alive from inside
New tagline for this reaction... "The Roshi directors cut."
Fun fact: Roach Coach, in the light novel, kept using resurrection magic on those adventurers in order to devour them multiple times!
Yeah this episode is start to get brutal!!
