I miss Williamsburg so much. Was there one day during a heavy snow storm by myself - no tourists - just a lone carriage coming down the street, the ghosts, and myself. And the silence and stunning beauty. Pure magic. So blessed to have experienced it ! Thanks for your videos !
Am fortunate to live in Williamsburg, VA. Drive through or walk through the historic area all the time. It is divine in so many ways. It helps that William & Mary is right across the street and a beautiful campus.
Born and raised in Williamsburg VA and lived there for over 20 years. My sisters still live there and every time I come back I don’t want to go home!! Absolutely beautiful!! CW is so magical during Christmas, can’t wait to go back this fall and during Christmas!🎄
I was lucky to grow up near Williamsburg and we visited several times a year. No matter how many times l went it was always a treat just to walk around and browse all the shops. It also sparked my love of American history. I still live near Williamsburg and still enjoy going there.
My parents honeymooned at CW in the early 50s! Would go here growing up on vacation in the 70s ! Took my wife back in the early days of marriage in the 2000s ! Love the architecture, history and of course , the gardens !
The ginger cakes are the best!! First had them as a Girl Scout in 1960 while on a trip with our troup!!! Still bake them at Christmas today!!!! Williamsburg is a family favorite place always!!!❤❤❤
Here in SC...Love, love love all of your videos! Gingerbread was not popular where I live as I was growing up. I had never had it until my family went camping during Christmas 1970. Daddy took us down a little out of the way street, as I remember. We smelled the bakery before we saw it. Daddy bought the 4 of us kids our first ginger cake. We saw them being pulled from the wood fired oven. There is no way to describe that experience, but you and Sarah know what I'm talking about! Thank you for taking me back to my early teen memories. I went for the third time in 2013, dressed in period clothes. I felt like I stepped back in time. I wouldn't trade my 3 trips to Williamsburg for anything. I AM going back...some day!

When I was younger, they baked Ginger Bread Cookies in the Raleigh Tavern Bakery. The smell was wonderful. The other treasured memory I have is the Yule Log Ceremony at the College of William and Mary. Held in the Sir Christopher Wren Building at the end of the semester before the holidays, it was a great way to see classmates before leaving for the holidays.

I love going to the Raleigh Bakery. Sometimes I am able to get the fat gingerbread man still warm. They make them in the morning and you can get them nice and warm from the kitchen part!
