    Nice video for beginners..but N is not just rps it is called number of power strokes per second..surveyors have failed many students becoz of this..also brake power is same as effective power but the power which u get from indicator diagram is brake power and one which u get from nomograms is effective power..both powers are same the difference is only the way they are calculated..hope u take in the right spirit.. thanks

    One of the most common failing mistakes is not shown here. The atmospheric line is to be made by fitting the indicator instrument to the indicator cord & indicator drive (basically like taking power card with indicator cock shut). This way we can accurately measure the length of indicator diagram which is the length of atmospheric line.

    Please note for finding p mean
    Pmean= area*spring constant/length
    And length is length of diagram not stroke length

    sir question, according in the manual of B& W
    Indicated power = cylinder constant x rpm x indicated pressure
    effective power = cylinder constant x rpm x effective pressure
    effective pressure = indicated pressure - losses
    losses for model L35MC = 0.125 Mpa (constant)
    is it correct sir?

    Indicator is moving through the cam follower shaft the movement of the cam follower is called eccentric the indicator barrel never rotate. the movement is turning 180 degree during down motion of cam follower.. thereby pulling the lead line thus turning the barrel counter clockwise after due to spring tension of indicator and cam follower shaft moving up thus also make the barrel move clockwise and arm of indicator position down. two stage of taking the power indication one is like mountain appearance and other one is like the banana figure. both figure can be calculated of its power.

    For calculating Pmean the formula is area upon length X spring constant, and here the lenghth is not the stroke length, it is the spring which is getting compressed in mm length by application of gas forces, whereas stroke length (L) is used in only PLAN formula. Kindly correct me, sir
