In the past month I rented this car twice. SV models. Both averaged 36.4 mpg and I drive it like a rental car. 44 mpg going 70 mph. No heated seats in the SV but they both had the optional wireless charging for my cell phone and wireless Car Play. Honestly they both were extremely impressed and comfortable. One has 44,000 miles and no squeaking ir creaking in 17 degree F temps.

Don’t despair. The computer takes about 500 miles to get your fuel economy right. I’m at 34 mpg on my 2024 Versa S with the CVT. I LOVE this car!

Nice review Jill! Since our Sonata went up in flames in March, two days after the new engine was installed, we've been driving various rentals and really liked how composed the Versa was, especially for such a small car. The CVT is very intelligent, you can just feel it balancing power with mpgs. This newer CVT version is not rubber-bandy at all, much improved from our 2015 which we still have. It's been totally reliable, only needed a battery and normal maintenance (oil at 4K, CVT changed at 30K it's been just fine). Only issue is NISSAN ran out of clear coat south of the border. My '15 Versa SV (white) is not alone...I've spotted others with the 'factory matte finish' that takes until just about when the warranty runs out to really notice. I just keep it waxed. Good luck with yours.

I was so impressed by your review that I subscribed and liked! America desperately needs more affordable new vehicles like this Versa. I sure hope you can review more cheap new vehicles like the 2024 Mirage, base 2024 Corolla LE etc

Thank you. And I agree. I try to review a wide swath of vehicles but I’m limited by what’s available in the media fleet. I loved the Versa!

I don't think Nissan gets enough credit for how well they tune their throttles. I swear they're one of the few manufacturers that actually gives a crap about having good throttle response in their regular drive modes.

I currently drive the 2015 Versa SPlus. I average about 31mpg , and have about 42000 miles on it. Unfortunately someone rear ended me. Insurance says it will be totaled out. I am still driving it. Works just fine just looks like a shark bit the rear end off.
So my plan os either keep it and drive it as is, find a cheap repair place to at least make it look and finction properly or bite the bullet and buy a new car. I like my versa and am sure i would absolutely love the SR. My version has nothing. Radio, and Automatic transmission with heating and cooling. Nothing else. Only one door unlocks from outside the car. Really that part is a pain. Thanks for the review, i just need information so i can figure out my options. This sort of helps, but makes me want to opt for the new vehicle more and more. Again, thanks.

I would not mind one with a manual transmission under $15,000.

It’s been a while since I’ve driven the manual transmission version of this, but I don’t remember it being bad.

Why is everyone on youtube getting such bad mpg in this car? I have seen a few comments, forum posts and articles saying they got way better so I am being hopeful. I get around 40 city 53freeway with my mitsubishi mirage, just driving moderately and staying around the speed limit. I want this car but I don't want my gas milage to be much worse.

I don't know what is wrong with people, but they seem to want bigger vehicles. I'm a rare oddity in that I drive a small car. It has many great features and my overall mileage is 36 mpg. Why people want to drive vehicles that get terrible mpg is beyond me.

I get 35.9 mpg in my 2022 Versa S automatic. You shouldn't be getting under 32 mpg.
